Abstract

Kendaraan listrik di Indonesia kini semakin banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat. Meningkatnya harga bahan bakar minyak dan kebijakan pemerintah yang menggiurkan akan membuat masyarakat perlahan beralih dari kendaraan konvensional ke kendaraan listrik. Dalam menggunakan kendaraan listrik, khususnya roda dua, terdapat berbagai sistem operasional. Masalah pada ban udara, seperti tekanan udara yang tidak memadai atau kebocoran, bisa sangat berbahaya. Untuk menghindari permasalahan tersebut, solusi terbaiknya adalah dengan memanfaatkan Ban Airless. Ban ini memiliki beberapa keunggulan, termasuk tidak pernah kempes dan tidak memerlukan tekanan udara. Namun, Ban Airless memiliki massa yang lebih besar dibandingkan Ban Pneumatik sehingga memerlukan energi yang lebih besar dalam penggunaannya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan performa antara model Ban Airless dan Ban Pneumatik pada kendaraan listrik hub motor roda dua. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja Ban Airless sedikit lebih buruk dibandingkan Ban Pneumatik bertekanan optimal, namun masih lebih baik dibandingkan Ban Pneumatik dengan setengah dari tekanan optimal.

Abstract

The cutting quality of a lathe is influenced by various cutting parameters. Spindle speed is the main parameter that influences the level of surface roughness and tool wear. The research aims to understand the impact of using a VNMG 160408-MA type insert tool in cutting AISI 4340 steel on surface roughness and tool wear values. The spindle speeds used are 190 rpm, 300 rpm, 460 rpm, 755 rpm, 1,255 rpm, feed rate 0.209 mm/rev, and cutting depth 0.5 mm. Experimental methods were used in the research. The research results showed that variations in spindle speed had a significant effect on surface roughness, tool wear and cutting temperature as evidenced by the P-Value < 0.05. At a value at a spindle speed of 190 rpm, the surface roughness value was 6.195 μm, tool wear was 0.002 grams and tool temperature was 48.178 °C. The spindle speed value of 1,255 rpm measured a surface roughness value of 1.971 μm, tool wear of 0.053 grams, and tool temperature of 90.389 °C.

Abstract

Pemesinan merupakan proses krusial dalam industri manufaktur untuk menghasilkan komponen presisi, di mana morfologi chip yang terbentuk dari pemesinan bubut berperan penting terhadap efisiensi proses dan kualitas produk akhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kecepatan spindle dan kecepatan eretan terhadap morfologi chip, khususnya panjang dan diameter chip, dalam proses pemesinan bubut. Desain eksperimen faktorial 2x2 digunakan, dengan dua faktor utama: kecepatan spindle (755 RPM dan 1255 RPM) serta kecepatan eretan (0,1160 mm/rev dan 0,2320 mm/rev). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan ANOVA dua arah untuk menguji pengaruh masing-masing faktor dan interaksinya terhadap panjang dan diameter chip. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik kecepatan spindle maupun kecepatan eretan tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap panjang maupun diameter chip (p-value > 0,05). Interaksi antara kedua faktor tersebut juga tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan. Hal ini dapat disebabkan oleh rentang pengaturan kecepatan yang terbatas, serta pengaruh faktor lain seperti material dan kondisi pemotongan. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan bagi praktisi manufaktur dalam mengoptimalkan parameter pemesinan untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk akhir dan efisiensi proses.

Abstract

This study aims to design a walker for the elderly equipped with an adjustable height feature to improve user comfort and safety. The frame design was developed using CAD software and its structural strength was analyzed using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Simulations were carried out with static load variations ranging from 40 kg to 90 kg on aluminum alloy 6061-T4 material. The analyzed parameters include von Mises stress, equivalent strain, total deformation, and safety factor. The simulation results show a maximum von Mises stress of 28.99 MPa at a 90 kg load, which remains well below the material’s yield strength of 230 MPa, with a minimum safety factor of 7.849. These findings demonstrate that the walker design is safe to use within the tested load range. Future research is recommended to conduct dynamic structural testing and experimental validation of the physical prototype.

Abstract

Forklifts play a vital role in ensuring the smooth production and distribution of materials in industrial environments. The effectiveness of forklift operation significantly influences productivity, particularly in the oil and gas sector, which demands high punctuality and efficiency. This study aims to analyze the operational effectiveness of a 5-ton forklift at PT XYZ by applying the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, which consists of three main components: availability, performance, and quality. In addition, the six big losses approach is used to identify the primary sources of inefficiency. The results show that the highest OEE value was recorded in June at 91.04% (availability 94.24%, performance 96.60%, and quality 100%), while the lowest was in July at 82.20%, falling below the world-class OEE benchmark of 85%. Fishbone diagram analysis indicates that idle and minor losses are the largest contributors, accounting for 61.9% of the total losses. These are mainly caused by human factors, such as low work discipline, insufficient operator skills in executing standard procedures, irregular work methods, and the absence of a real-time system for recording and reporting minor disturbances. Other supporting factors include limited direct supervision, excessive workload, and non-optimal preventive maintenance schedules. To address these issues, the study recommends improvements such as regular operator training, clearer and more structured work procedures, implementation of daily log sheets to record idle time, improvement of forklift operation routes to minimize obstacles, and routine preventive maintenance scheduling for critical components, including brakes, batteries, forks, and electrical systems.

Abstract

Palm oil shells are an example of the residual products of the palm oil processing industry which can be utilized as a new alternative renewable energy source in the form of briquettes. The oil palm shells in this study were first carbonized for 1 hour with a heating temperature in the muffle furnace of 600°C, then crushed and mashed, then kneaded with each variation of adhesive and molded so that the dough can form a cylinder with a diameter of 2 cm and 4 cm high. The average calorific value obtained for cornstarch adhesive, rice flour adhesive and pine resin adhesive were respectively 6634.29 cal/gr, 6702.47 cal/gr, and 7798.31 cal/gr. The average water content in cornstarch adhesive, rice flour adhesive, and pine resin adhesive were 5.1%, 5.0% and 3.7%, respectively. The average values of volatile matter content in the adhesives of cornstarch, rice flour, and pine resin were 30.90%, 31.70% and 60.73%, respectively. The results of this study indicate that any increase in the calorific value will be followed by a decrease in the water content and the varying values of the volatile matter content.
