Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of guidance and counseling teachers in providing career information through career guidance to class IX students at Al-Ihsan Maryke Private MTs, located on Jln. Education No.1 Maryke, Maryke Plantation, Kutambaru, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. The research method used is qualitative with a focus on how guidance and counseling teachers convey information regarding career choices and educational paths after graduation. The research results show that guidance and counseling teachers at Al-Ihsan Maryke Private MTs play a vital role by providing an overview of various professions and their requirements, as well as facilitating group discussions and question and answer sessions. They also invite practitioners from various fields to provide direct insight to students. However, there is a lack of depth of information and personalization of guidance. The career guidance provided is often felt to be too general and not suited to students' specific needs. Many students feel that the information presented is not in-depth enough and is difficult to apply to their personal situations, so they have difficulty connecting career choices with their interests and talents. To increase the effectiveness of coaching, a more structured and detailed approach is needed as well as more personalized coaching sessions. This is expected to help students plan concrete steps for their future and make better decisions regarding education and career.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of information services using the self-assessment technique on students’ ability to make career decisions, as well as to analyze the extent to which such services influence students’ clarity and confidence in choosing a career path. The research method employed was quantitative, utilizing a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The study population consisted of 12th-grade students at SMA Bandung Medan for the 2024/2025 academic year, with a sample of 30 students divided into an experimental group (which received information services utilizing audio-visual media) and a control group (which received information services through question-and-answer discussions). Data collection techniques included interviews, documentation, and questionnaires that were assessed for validity and reliability. Data analysis involved normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Paired-Samples T-Test with SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that information services using the self-assessment technique have a significant effect on the career decision-making ability of 12th-grade students at SMA Bandung Medan, Percut Sei Tuan District. Based on normality and homogeneity tests, the data were found to be normally distributed and homogeneous, thus meeting the requirements for parametric testing. The Paired Samples Test analysis produced a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental group that received information services with the self-assessment technique through audio-visual media and the control group that only received information services through question-and-answer discussions. These findings demonstrate that self-assessment-based information services enhance students’ ability to recognize their own potential, leading to more accurate and rational career decisions. Furthermore, the results show that the self-assessment technique positively contributes to strengthening students’ clarity and confidence in their chosen career paths. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of information services using the self-assessment technique is effective in helping students navigate the career decision-making process in a more directed, realistic, and self-reflective manner.

Abstract

This study explores Al-Ghazali’s perspective on moral education and its relevance to the contemporary Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum. The main problem addressed is the lack of integration between classical moral values and the modern education system. The purpose of this research is to examine Al-Ghazali's concept of moral education and analyze its alignment with current PAI curriculum approaches. The method employed is qualitative descriptive through literature study. Data were collected from Al-Ghazali's works, classical Islamic literature, and recent PAI curriculum documents. The research finds that Al-Ghazali's emphasis on soul development, self-restraint, and habitual good deeds remains highly relevant in shaping students’ character today. The contemporary PAI curriculum can enhance its effectiveness by incorporating Al-Ghazali’s ethical-sufistic principles. These findings affirm the significance of preserving Islamic scholarly heritage to address current moral challenges in education.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menguji coba layanan bimbingan kelompok menggunakan teknik assertive training untuk meningkatkan komunikasi interpersonal siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Quasi Experimental desain Pre-Test Post-Test Control group. Partisipan penelitian 20 siswa kelas VIII MTsN 1 Medan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen 10 orang dan kelompok kontrol 10 orang, dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil Independent Sampel T-Test post test kelompok eksperimen 8,744 sedangkan hasil post test kelompok kontrol 5,425 dan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol 0,000 < 0,05 serta t hitungnya sebesar 1,598 < 2,09302 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Maka layanan bimbingan kelompok menggunakan teknik assertive training efektif meningkatkan komunikasi interpersonal siswa. Serta skor pretest kelompok eksperimen nilai rata-rata 95,40 dan nilai posttest 102,40. Sedangkan kelompok kontrol nilai pretest rata-rata 95,90 dan nilai posttest 97,10. Maka nilai rata-rata posttest lebih tinggi di banding nilai rata-rata pretest  berarti ada perubahan signifikan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali secara mendalam bagaimana peran guru dalam menopang proses pembelajaran siswa di tengah keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana di SDN 054935 Paluh Mardan, Desa Pematang Cengal, Kecamatan Tanjung Pura. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan guru, kepala sekolah, siswa, dan komite sekolah, serta dilengkapi dengan observasi langsung dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana sekolah berdampak besar terhadap proses pembelajaran dan perkembangan akademik siswa. Kondisi ruang kelas yang rusak, peralatan belajar seperti meja dan kursi yang tidak layak, serta minimnya alat peraga dan media pembelajaran modern menyebabkan proses belajar mengajar tidak berjalan optimal. Keterbatasan fasilitas ini juga berpengaruh pada rendahnya minat dan motivasi belajar siswa, di mana sebagian siswa menunjukkan kurangnya antusiasme mengikuti pelajaran, bahkan terdapat siswa kelas VI yang belum mampu membaca, menulis, dan mengenal huruf dengan baik. Dalam kondisi yang serba terbatas, guru berupaya maksimal menggunakan kreativitasnya, seperti memanfaatkan benda-benda alami di lingkungan sekitar sebagai alat peraga sederhana untuk memudahkan pemahaman materi pelajaran. Namun, meskipun para guru telah melakukan berbagai inovasi, hasil belajar siswa tetap belum mencapai standar yang diharapkan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peran guru sangat vital dalam menopang proses pembelajaran, tetapi keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana menjadi tantangan utama yang menghambat pencapaian hasil belajar optimal. Dibutuhkan perhatian serius dari pemerintah dan pemangku kepentingan pendidikan untuk memperbaiki kondisi fisik sekolah, menyediakan fasilitas dan media pembelajaran yang memadai, serta mendukung guru agar dapat menjalankan proses pembelajaran secara efektif. Perbaikan sarana prasarana di sekolah-sekolah dengan keterbatasan semacam ini menjadi langkah penting untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, mengembangkan potensi siswa, dan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang aman, nyaman, dan layak bagi perkembangan intelektual serta karakter anak didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memberikan informasi latar belakang tentang berbagai permasalahan yang muncul pada anak pertama, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan stereotip keluarga di kelas XII MIA MAS Muallimin UNIVA Medan. Stereotip keluarga sering kali berbentuk harapan dan tuntutan yang tinggi terhadap anak pertama, yang dapat berdampak negatif pada kesejahteraan psikologis mereka dan menyebabkan stres, depresi, dan kecemasan. Mengetahui seberapa baik anak pertama di kelas XII MIA MAS Muallimin UNIVA Medan memahami stereotip keluarga sebelum dan sesudah konseling kelompok menggunakan teknik defusi kognitif merupakan tujuan dari penelitian ini. Penelitian ini juga berupaya untuk memastikan bagaimana layanan konseling kelompok menggunakan teknik defusi kognitif memengaruhi pemahaman anak pertama tentang stereotip keluarga. Desain penelitian ini digunakan dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design dan metodologi quasi-eksperimental kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa jurusan IPA kelas XII, dan hingga sepuluh individu dengan stereotip keluarga yang kuat dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner stereotip keluarga pada anak pertama, dan analisis data menggunakan statistik parametrik menggunakan uji-t sampel independen dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 30. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, HO ditolak dan Ha diterima karena nilai Sig.2 t (0,000) < 0,05 (nilai signifikansi). Anak kelas XII MIA MAS Muallimin UNIVA Medan memiliki stereotip keluarga yang lebih sedikit sebagai hasil dari konseling kelompok dengan menggunakan teknik defusi kognitif.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling using the strength bombardment technique in enhancing self-resilience among students who experience fatherlessness. The research employed  quantitative approach with a quasi experimental design, specifically a non equivalent control group design, involving two groups an experimental group that received group counseling with the strength bombardment technique, and a control group that did not receive any treatment. The population consisted of all students from the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Education Study Program, class of 2024, totaling 186 students. The sample comprised 12 students from the same program who met the criteria for fatherlessness, and were purposively assigned to the two groups. The research instrument used was a self-resilience scale developed by Daulay  Indriani 2024, with measurements taken during the pretest and posttest stages. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test in SPSS version 22, with a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated that before the intervention, all subjects in both groups had low levels of self-resilience 100%. After the intervention, the experimental group showed a significant increase, with 66.6% of students categorized as having high resilience, 16.7% in the very high category, and 16.7% in the moderate category, while the control group remained in the low category without any change. Based on the results, the Sig. 2-tailed value was 0.027. This study reveals that group counseling using the strength bombardment technique is effective in enhancing self resilience among students who experience fatherlessness.

Abstract

The development of the digital era has led to changes in students’ consumption behavior, one of which is reflected in the increasing tendency of impulse buying, often triggered by self-reward practices. While self-reward is initially intended to enhance motivation and reduce stress, it may gradually shift into uncontrolled consumptive behavior. This study aims to examine the effect of self-management techniques implemented through group guidance services on reducing impulse buying behavior triggered by self-reward among students of LIPIA Medan. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest– posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 7 students selected through purposive sampling from a population of 34 students based on high levels of impulse buying. Data were collected using an impulse buying behavior questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results indicate a significant decrease in impulse buying scores after the implementation of group guidance with self-management techniques (Z = -2.371; p = 0.018 < 0.05). These findings suggest that self-management techniques are effective in enhancing students’ self-control, increasing awareness of emotional triggers, and promoting more rational consumption behavior in the digital era.

Abstract

Adolescence is characterized by high emotional intensity with immature regulatory abilities, making it vulnerable to repressed anger, which can lead to neurotic symptoms, psychosomatic disorders, and maladaptive behavior. This study aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling with expressive writing* techniques in managing repressed anger in Indonesian adolescents. This quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design involved 20 seventh-grade students of MTs Swasta Al-Ulum Medan, divided through matching-randomization into experimental and control groups. The instrument used was a 48-item repressed anger scale of 0.961. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a very significant decrease from M 174.40 to M 147.00 t9 14.707, p 0.001, while the control group showed no significant change. The intergroup test confirmed a significant difference t18 12.822, p 0.001. These findings confirm that the integration of expressive writing in group counseling is effective and relevant to be implemented in Guidance and Counseling services in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services using the WDEP technique in improving students' self-understanding. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The study sample consisted of 30 students, consisting of 15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using a self-understanding questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using independent sample t-tests using SPSS. The results showed that the average self-understanding score in the experimental group increased from 62.20 in the pretest to 84.27 in the posttest, while in the control group it increased from 63.13 to 69.13. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Thus, group guidance services using the WDEP technique were effective in improving students' self-understanding.
