Abstract

Internationalization Programs of the Biology study, Semarang State University (UNNES), in order to realize the vision of UNNES as an international conservation university, continues. The objective of this study is to conduct internationalization program for Biology study in the form of student mobility, Credit transfer, guest lecturer, and world-class professor at UTM. This study is an Operational Research (OR). Operational Research is a research that aims to resolve operational problems, which result is used to help solving problems using scientific methods. UNNES Biology study proposes activities in the form of student mobility, credit transfer, guest lecturer, and world-class professor for Biology Student, but then the credit transfer is not done. The results obtained from the student mobility will be the topic at a public lecture from the Biology studies program. Student mobility program is an excellent opportunity for students to have the experience and knowledge at the international level.

Abstract

Teachers are experiencing obstacles to develop a logical, systematic, analytical and critical way of thinking, while the learning curriculum principle of 2013 must be centered on the students.One model that can make students learn independently and collaborate with friends is the Jigsaw model.One of the media that can be utilized in the learning process is Kahoot media.Kahoot can provide an effective and enjoyable atmosphere that influences the seriousness of the students in learning.This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Jigsaw type Cooperative model with Kahoot Media support for students ' interests and learning outcomes.Research using Quasi Experimental Desaign type Nonequivalent Control Group Design with sample X MIPA 4 as Control class and X MIPA 2 as experimental class.Data collection techniques Using test instruments, polls, observations and interviews.Data analysis techniques are performed quantitatively, descriptive percentage and qualitative descriptive.The results of the research are known that there is a significant difference of interest in students learning experiments and controls of 9,66%> 4.01%.The average learning outcomes of experimental and control students are 81 > 78. Experimental class classifications of 89% and control of 80%.The average N-Gain class of experimentation and control there is a significant difference of 0.51 > 0.43. The level of learning is 100% in percentage in both experimental and control classes. 81% of students gave excellent responses and 19% of the responses to both the learning with some statements reached a percentage of 100% satisfaction in the categories strongly agreed and agreed.Teacher response interviews with learning showed a positive response.The conclusion of this research is the cooperative model of the media-assisted Jigsaw type Kahoot effectively increase the interest and learning outcomes of grade X SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja

Abstract

Implementation of biology practicums could not be carried out optimally. This is because students' skills in practicums are less, time allocation and media are limited, while the use of learning media is very important.. Digestive system practicums have 4 food tests and often make students confused, upside down between the chemical testers with one another, even though when the practical test food test material will be re-practiced and assessed as a practical value. For this reason, it is necessary to development of learning media based tutorial video on the digestive system practicum. The purpose of this research is to analyze the validity and feasibility of a learning media based tutorial video on the digestive system practicum. The research steps taken using the 4D development model are Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The research instruments used were media availability questionnaires, interview sheets, validity sheets, and teacher and student response questionnaire sheets. Analysis of the data used is descriptive quantitative percentage. The results showed tutorial video on the digestive system practicum was classified as very valid by media expert 98%, and material expert 100%. Tutorial video on the digestive system practicum is very feasible 97% according to the teacher and 10 students. In this research, the effectiveness of optimizing the digestive system practicum cannot be carried out due to the Covid 19 pandemic. It is recommended to test the effectiveness of the digestive system practicum tutorial video media in future research so that it can be applied in optimizing practicum in schools.

Abstract

Cassava leaves are the main barrier for oxidation reactions. This happens because of the chlorophyll content, but chlorophyll levels will increase with age until the leaves develop fully and then chlorophyll levels decrease when the leaves get older. When the leaves are old it is indicated that there are other compounds that act as the main barrier for oxidation reactions, namely flavonoids. Flavonoid is seen from the antioxidant activity of the leaves. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of chlorophyll, antioxidant activity and the relationship between chlorophyll levels and antioxidant activity. This study uses seven cassava cultivars in Wonosobo. The leaves were extracted using the maceration method then the antioxidant activity was measured using DPPH method besides chlorophyll content was measured using a spectrophotometer using the ARNON method, then from the results of measurements of chlorophyll content and antioxidant activity in the Pearson Correlation method correlation test. Cassava results from Wonosobo cultivars Marsinah had the highest antioxidant activity of 71.13%. Furthermore Martapura (46.27%), Green Handle Vegetables (46.27%), Palengka (46.13%), Rubber (39.64%), Red Handle Vegetables (39.36%) and the lowest one is Kastepe cultivars that is 36.87%. While the highest chlorophyll content of Marsinah cultivars is 32.19 mg / l. Next Rubber (29.44 mg / l), Green Vegetable Handle (28.04 mg / l), Kastepe (27.66 mg / l), Martapura (27.30 mg / l), Palengka (22.82 mg / ll) and the lowest is the Red Handle Vegetable cultivar which is 22.01 mg / l. From these results, it can be concluded that ducks There is no correlation between chlorophyll levels and antioxidant activity of cassava cultivars in Wonosobo district. Daun singkong merupakan barrier utama untuk reaksi oksidasi. Hal ini terjadi karena adanya kandungan klorofil, akan tetapi kadar klorofil akan meningkat seiring bertambahnya umur sampai daun berkembang penuh dan kemudian kadar klorofil menurun ketika daun semakin tua. Pada saat daun sudah tua diindikasikan bahwa ada senyawa lain yang berperan sebagai barrier utama untuk reaksi oksidasi yaitu flavonoid. Falvonoid dilihat dari aktivitas antioksidan daun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kadar aklorofil, aktivitas antioksidan dan hubungan anatara kadar klorofil dengan aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tujuh kultivar singkong yang ada di wonosobo. Daun diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi kemudian diukur aktivitas antioksidannya menggunakan metode DPPH selain itu kadar klorofil diukur menggunakan spektrofotometer menggunakan metode ARNON, kemudian dari hasil pengukuran kadar klorofil dan aktivitas antioksidan di uji korelasi metode Pearson Correlation. Hasil menunjukkan Singkong dari Wonosobo kultivar Marsinah memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang paling tinggi yaitu 71,13%. Selanjutnya Martapura (46,27%), Sayur Gagang Hijau (46,27%), Palengka (46,13%), Karet (39,64%), Sayur Gagang Merah (39,36%) dan yang terendah adalah kultivar Kastepe yaitu 36,87%. Sedangkan kadar klorofil yang paling tinggi kultivar Marsinah yaitu 32,19 mg/l. Selanjutnya Karet (29,44 mg/l), Sayur Gagang Hijau (28,04 mg/l), Kastepe (27,66 mg/l), Martapura (27,30 mg/l), Palengka (22,82 mg/l) dan yang terendah adalah kultivar Sayur Gagang Merah yaitu 22,01 mg/l. Abstract

This community service aim to motivate kelompok Tani Gunungpati 03 Kampung Alam Malon and kelompok Tani Gunungpati 02 Nglarang, Gunungpati to start planting Indigofera. Production can be used to fulfill a part of batik natural dye for cheaper. Special target is availability qualified Indigofera with criteria dark green leaves (green bluish) and oval shape with brownish black seed. The target is from 1000 seeds can be generate 1000 qualified plant ready to harvest in 3 months, and next re-harvest in 2 months. Some activities already done such as socialization community service attended by 36 of farmer team and they held active discussion about the use and additional income from planting indigo. Training in make natural dye paste from indigo is given to 15 of farmer team by experienced trainer. The result of this activity were the farmer group be able to cultivate indigofera, built 2 water shelter to drainage indigo plant. The result of seedlings is not satisfied yet because the growth of sprouts were not simultaneously and not applying hormone gibrelin technology so that for next step need revision in raise seeding. The farmer group ca easily harvest their indigofera to make paste for batik dye color

Abstract

Prior learning of biotechnology material was carried out without the process of finding concepts by students. Learning is still centered on the teacher and does not involve student activity. So there is a need for learning that can be applied to improve understanding of concepts and student activities in learning. Theoretically, the guided-inquiry learning model can improve students understanding of concepts and active roles . The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the guided-inquiry learning model based on biotechnology practicum material in improving high school student learning outcomes. The research design is quasi-experimental with the nonequivalent control group design. Cognitive aspects of learning outcomes were measured using multiple choice test sheets, analyzed using the N-gain test , Wilcoxon test, and Mann-Whitney test . Psychomotor aspects of learning outcomes were measured using multiple choice test sheets, analyzed using the t test; and observation sheet analyzed descriptive percentage. The teacher's response was measured with a questionnaire sheet instrument which was analyzed descriptively qualitatively. Students' responses and the implementation of learning were measured with a questionnaire sheet instrument analyzed descriptively percentage. The average N-gain cognitive aspect of the experimental class is in the medium category and the control class is in the low category. The results of learning cognitive aspects and skills based on student tests in the experimental class > control class significantly. Sixty nine percent of students are highly skilled and twenty eight percent are skilled. The teacher's response is that this guided-inquiry learning model makes it easier to emphasize concepts but there is a need for better class and time management. The response of the majority of students was good. All the learning steps of the experimental class were carried out, while in the control class the instructions recorded important points that were not conveyed. Conclusion, the guided-inquiry learning model based on biotechnology practicum materials in improving the learning outcomes of high school students.

Abstract

Wilayah Patemon mempunyai aset berupa Wisata Embung untuk tempat wisata masyarakat domestik. Upaya ini terus digalakkan guna memacu kunjungan masyarakat lokal dan wisata kuliner termasuk tempe. Tempe yang dipromosikan adalah tempe ori dan tempe kelor serta olahannya berupa keripik kelor tempe. Pembuatan tempe dilakukan oleh peserta kegiatan pengabdian untuk edukasi dan menjual produk hasil olahannya guna meningkatkan pendapatan dan bertambahnya pamor desa wisata Embung Patemon dengan melibatkan UMKM tempe Berkah NJ dan masyarakat setempat tergabung dalam komunitas kewirausahaan di kelurahan Patemon. Pengembangan produk tempe menjadi tempe kelor merupakan inovasi teknologi pengolahan pangan melalui fortifikasi tepung daun kelor, dan peserta memberi respon baik. Dari hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan penambahan tepung daun kelor konsentrasi 1% dengan lama fermentasi 36 jam menunjukkan prosentase flavonoid meningkat dan menunjukkan penurunan mulai umur fermentasi 48 jam. Selama proses pendampingan kegiatan pengembangan tempe kelor terjadi peningkatan pemasaran, penguatan kegiatan kewirausahaan dan terlaksana sosialisasi P-IRT serta penandanganan MoU antara dekan FMIPA dengan pihak kelurahan Patemon.

Abstract

Mahasiswa UNNES dituntut lebih kreatif, inovatif dan produktif berwawasan konservasi. Wawasan konservasi belum melekat pada diri mahasiswa Biologi Angkatan 2023.Tujuan kegiatan workshop untuk meningkatkan jiwa kreatif, inovatif, dan produktif mahasiswa Biologi FMIPA UNNES 2023 melalui reuse sampah botol plastic. Sasaran workshop pertama mahasiswa fungsionaris Cempaka Bio Farm (CBF). Sasaran kedua mahasiswa semua mahasiswa jurusan Biologi FMIPA UNNES Angkatan 2023. Hasil analisis angket diketahui bahwa jumlah sampah botol plastic yang dihasilkan mahasiswa rata-rata 4 buah/minggu. Hanya 24% mahasiswa yang mereusenya. Pada workshop pertama mahasiswa fungsionaris CBF sangat antusias, terampil mereuse sampah botol plastik menjadi pot gantung yang menarik. Selanjutnya mereka dijadikan pendamping mahasiswa baru Angkatan 2023 pada workshop kedua. Pada workshop kedua, 170 mahasiswa sangat antusias. Hampir semua mahasiswa (99%) menyatakan penjelasan narasumber sangat jelas dan jelas; 95% menyatakan teknik reuse sangat mudah dan mudah, dan; 19% mahasiswa ingin membuat pot gantung untuk dirinya sendiri; dan 74% mahasiswa ingin menularkan keterampilannya kepada orang lain. Simpulan, workshop reuse sampah plastic dapat meningkatkan kreatifitas, inovasi dan produksi mahasiswa biologi.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kelompok usaha peternak ayam petelur rumahan di Desa Kragan Kecamatan Polanharjo Kabupaten Klaten masih melakukan usaha secara tradisional apa adanya. Permasalahan yang ada pada kelompok peternak ayam rumahan ini produksi telur secara kuantitas, kualitas, diversifikasi produk, manajemen usaha, serta pemasaran. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini memberikan solusi terkait permasalahan tersebut. Solusinya antara lain penataan lingkungan kandang peternak ayam petelur, peningkatan produksi dan kualitas ayam petelur melalui inovasi probiotik herbal, peningkatan masa produktif ayam petelur melalui inovasi probiotik herbal, penguatan kelembagaan kelompok, peningkatan nilai tambah produk melalui pengemasan, dan membentuk jaringan pemasaran telur probiotik. Secara umum metode pemberdayaan dan penerapan Iptek kepada kelompok peternak ayam petelur dilakukan dengan cara, antara lain penguatan lingkungan kandang peternak; ceramah tentang sanitasi lingkungan, inovasi teknologi probiotik herbal. manajemen, dan pemasaran; demonstrasi, praktik penerapan inovasi iptks secara langsung, pendampingan dan studi banding. Sebagai pelaksana adalah dosen dengan keahlian multidisiplin yang mendukung dari bidang geografi, lingkungan, dan biologi, dibantu oleh mahasiswa dari prodi geografi, biologi dan lingkungan, serta tenaga ahli sebagai narasumber yang diambil dari pihak luar sesuai kepakarannya. Target luaran kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan level keberdayaan mitra dan peningkatan produksi serta pemasaran; berlangsungnya kelompok usaha peternak ayam petelur rumahan di Desa Kranggan yang semakin kuat dan berkembang.Abstract: The business group of home-laying hen farmers in Kragan Village, Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency still does business traditionally as it is. The problems that exist in this group of home chicken farmers are egg production in quantity, quality, product diversification, business management, and marketing. This community service activity provides solutions to these problems. The solutions include structuring the cage environment of laying hen farmers, increasing the production and quality of laying hens through herbal probiotic innovation, increasing the productive period of laying hens through herbal probiotic innovation, strengthening group institutions, increasing product added value through packaging, and forming a probiotic egg marketing network. In general, the method of empowerment and application of science and technology to groups of laying hen farmers is carried out by, among others, strengthening the farmer's cage environment; lectures on environmental sanitation, and herbal probiotic technology innovation. management, and marketing; Demonstration, the practice of implementing IPTKS innovation directly, mentoring, and comparative studies. Implementers are lecturers with multidisciplinary expertise that support from the fields of geography, environment, and biology, assisted by students from geography, biology, and environmental study programs, as well as experts as resource persons taken from outside parties according to their expertise. The output target of this activity is to increase the level of partner empowerment and increase production and marketing; The business group of home-laying hen farmers in Kranggan Village is getting stronger and growing.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan suatu kondisi dimana anak mengalami gangguan pertumbuhan, sehingga tinggi badan anak tidak sesuai dengan usianya, sebagai akibat dari masalah gizi kronis yaitu kekurangan asupan gizi dalam waktu yang lama. Stunting berdampak negatif terhadap kecerdasan anak dan meningkatkan risiko penyakit tidak menular pada anak, seperti diabetes mellitus, kanker, dan penyakit jantung koroner pada saat dewasa nantinya. Stunting dapat dicegah dengan dengan berbagai strategi yaitu intervensi gizi spesifik (kecukupan asupan makanan dan gizi, pola asuh, dan pengobatan infeksi/penyakit) dan gizi sensitif (akses pangan bergizi; akses pengasuhan gizi ibu dan anak; akses dan kualitas pelayanan gizi dan kesehatan; dan penyediaan air bersih dan sarana sanitasi). Pelaksanaan intervensi gizi spesifik dan sensitif ini sebaiknya secara terpadu. Pengalaman global menunjukkan bahwa menerapkan tindakan terpadu untuk menargetkan kelompok prioritas di area prioritas merupakan kunci keberhasilan dalam meningkatkan gizi anak, pertumbuhan dan perkembangan, serta mencegah stunting. Namun, di wilayah kelurahan Kalisegoro pengetahuan ibu-ibu PKK tentang pemenuhan gizi seimbang masih rendah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya edukasi terkait makanan gizi seimbang untuk mencegah stunting. Berdasarkan gambaran dari potret permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra, maka dilakukan kegiatan Pelatihan tentang makanan bergizi untuk anak pra sekolah dengan memanfaatkan bahan pangan lokal daun kelor, cara pengolahan menjadi berbagai produk makanan untuk anak pra sekolah yang benar oleh Tim pengabdian Unnes dengan sasaran Ibu-ibu PKK. Pada tahap awal telah dilakukan pertemuan dengan ibu Ika Setyowati selaku ketua PKK dan sosialisasi pada ibu PKK tentang rencana kegiatan pengabdian dan penyuluhan tentang makanan gizi seimbang. Tahap selanjutnya adalah pelatihan cara pengolahan bahan pangan lokal menjadi berbagai aneka produk makanan seperti : 1) Dimsum daun kelor, 2) Poding kelor, dan 3) Nugget ikan dan daun kelor. Luaran kegiatan pengabdian ini antara lain publikasi pada jurnal Karya Abdi Masyarakat Penerbit LPPM Universitas Jambi dengan judul artikel “Pemberdayaan Ibu-Ibu PKK Dalam Pemenuhan Gizi Bagi Anak Pra Sekolah Sebagai Upaya Pencegahan  Stunting Di Kelurahan Kalisegoro” serta publikasi pada media online lokal Suara Merdeka, serta media online web MIPA, dan video kegiatan.
