Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using comic media in increasing students’ motivation in social science subjects. This study is an experimental study with a draft factorial pre-test post test involving variable use of comic media. This study was conducted at State Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTsN) of Parepare city which involved two study groups in class VIII with a total of 24 students as respondents. The instrument of comic media use was declared valid and reliable with a Cronbach Alpha value of 0.917 containing 24 statement items. Descriptive analysis of comic media use obtained a mean pre-test value of 46.73 and post-test 82.80 which means that the results showed an increase motivation to learn after being given a learning treatment using comic media. The hypothesis test shows a significance value of 0.0001 which means the use of learning comic media provides better results than the use of learning media in the form of Power points. This happens because comic media is interesting, entertaining, and easy for learners to understand. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media komik pada mata pelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan faktorial pre test-post test yang melibatkan variabel penggunaan media komik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MTs Negeri Kota Parepare yang melibatkan dua rombongan belajar di kelas VIII dengan total 24 siswa sebagai responden dalam penelitian. Instrumen efektivitas penggunaan media komik dinyatakan valid dan reliabel dengan nilai Cronbach Alpha 0.917 yang berisi 24 item pernyataan. Hasil analisis Deskriptif penggunaan media komik diperoleh nilai mean Pre Test 46,73 dan Post Test 82,80 artinya hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan setelah diberikan treatmen pembelajaran menggunakan media komik. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikan sebesar 0.0001 yang berarti penggunaan media komik pembelajaran memberikan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingka dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran berbentuk Power point. Hal ini terjadi karena media komik menarik, menghibur, dan mudah untuk dipahami oleh peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pergeseran paradigma dalam tradisi tukar cincin sebagai ikatan perkawinan di Kecamatan Ma’rang, Kabupaten Pangkep, perspektif hukum Islam. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis perubahan tradisi tukar cincin, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi pergeseran tersebut, serta tinjauan hukum Islam terhadap praktik ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan studi kepustakaan dari literatur, buku, serta perundang-undangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi tukar cincin dipengaruhi budaya modern dan diterima sebagai simbol adat untuk mempererat hubungan keluarga. Meskipun bukan bagian dari ajaran Islam, tradisi ini sering dilakukan untuk wanita. Namun, pemberian cincin emas kepada pria bertentangan dengan syariat. Tradisi ini berkembang dari bentuk sederhana menjadi lebih modern, sehingga perlu disesuaikan dengan nilai agama dan tidak dijadikan kewajiban. Modernisasi menggeser tradisi ini dari fokus nilai agama dan keluarga menjadi simbol materialistik. Sebagian masyarakat menerima tradisi ini, sementara yang lain menolaknya karena bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam. Dalam pandangan Islam, tukar cincin tidak diwajibkan dan hanya diterima jika sesuai syariat. Oleh karena itu, edukasi diperlukan agar masyarakat memahami hukum Islam dan menjaga tradisi ini tetap sederhana serta sesuai nilai-nilai agama.

Abstract

This study discusses the causes of juvenile delinquency and the role of character education in dealing with juvenile delinquency. This study aims to enrich scientific knowledge in relation to the concepts of character education for adolescent development and to find out the motives that cause character decadence for adolescents. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that examines the prevention of juvenile delinquency. The informants of this study were 58 heads of families in Liliriaja Village. Data collection techniques used are documentation, observation, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis, using data percentage tabulations. The results; first, juvenile delinquency in Liliriaja Village occurs because of several factors, namely the development of science and technology which gave birth to globalization, uncontrolled association among adolescents, Islamic because of weak families, low exemplary in social life, and so on; second, Islamic education emphasizes students to always increase faith in Allah Swt., increase taqwa awareness, social awareness, intellectual awareness, individual awareness, and so on, in carrying out their duties and functions as human beings.

Abstract

The implementation of marriage in an area has its traditions and the Bugis tribe's marriage. Some customs are attached to the procession and have good meanings. The meaning of the wedding procession is often only known by traditional leaders or a group of people who are traditional observers. As a result, the older generation fails to transmit these customs effectively to the next generation. This research aims to explore the symbolic meaning of one of the Bugis tribe's wedding processions, which is called the Mammatua. The research method uses a descriptive approach with a qualitative research type. The authors collected the research data through observation, documentation, and interviews. We conducted observation and documentation directly at one of the Bugis tribe wedding processes in Baranti District, Sidrap Regency. Informants consisted of traditional leaders and local community members involved in the Mammatua procession at one of the weddings. The research information collected was then validated using symbolic validity with the involvement of anthropologists. The validated data was then analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and verification techniques. The study results show that the Mammatua is carried out after the wedding reception to ask for blessings from the bride and groom's parents. The procession features the exchange of lipa sabbe (silk sarongs) between families as a symbol of mutual respect and familial unity. In contrast, the offering of penne anreang (plates containing staple foods, ingredients, and traditional cakes) expresses the hope that the bride and groom will uphold the integrity of their household. These meanings emerge from symbolic interactions that the community has continuously expressed and practiced across generations, eventually becoming embedded beliefs that are actively preserved.

Abstract

This study explores the phallocentric dimensions of pemmali—a traditional system of prohibitions and taboos—in the everyday conversations of the Bugis community in Manorang Salo, Marioriawa Subdistrict, Soppeng Regency. Utilizing a qualitative approach and deconstructive analysis grounded in Luce Irigaray’s concept of the symbolic order, the research examines how pemmali functions not only as a cultural moral code but also as a discursive mechanism that reinforces patriarchal norms. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation, and analyzed using a phallocentric deconstructive framework. The findings reveal that pemmali expressions frequently carry implicit gendered meanings, regulating behavior—especially of women and younger generations—under the guise of communal discipline and moral responsibility. These expressions are deeply embedded in everyday language and serve to uphold a symbolic order centered on male authority and social control. The study concludes that pemmali language constitutes a cultural product designed to maintain the Bugis cultural order, including the concept of siri, which forms a core part of the Bugis worldview. الملخص تقليدي من المحظورات والقيود — في المحادثات اليومية لمجتمع البوجيس في منطقة مانورانج سالو، مقاطعة ماروراو، محافظة سوبانغ. باستخدام نهج نوعي وتحليل تفكيكي استنادًا إلى مفهوم النظام الرمزي وفقًا لـ Luce Irigaray، تبحث هذه الدراسة كيف يعمل pemmali ليس فقط كرمز أخلاقي ثقافي، ولكن أيضًا كآلية بلاغية تعزز المعايير الأبوية. تم جمع البيانات من خلال المقابلات المعمقة والملاحظة الميدانية، وتم تحليلها باستخدام إطار تفكيكي من منظور فاليوسنتري. أظهرت نتائج البحث أن تعبيرات بيمالي غالبًا ما تحتوي على معانٍ جندرية ضمنية، والتي تتحكم في السلوك — خاصةً لدى النساء والشباب — باسم الانضباط الجماعي والمسؤولية الأخلاقية. هذه التعبيرات متأصلة في اللغة اليومية وتعمل على دعم النظام الرمزي الذي يركز على سلطة الذكور والرقابة الاجتماعية. تخلصت الدراسة إلى أن لغة بيمالي هي أحد المنتجات الثقافية التي تهدف إلى الحفاظ على النظام الثقافي البوجيسي، بما في ذلك مفهوم السيري الذي يعد جزءًا أساسيًا من نظرة المجتمع البوجيسي للعالم. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi dimensi falosentris (phallocentric) dari pemmali—sistem larangan dan pantangan tradisional—dalam percakapan sehari-hari masyarakat Bugis di Manorang Salo, Kecamatan Marioriawa, Kabupaten Soppeng. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis dekonstruktif yang merujuk pada konsep symbolic order dari Luce Irigaray, penelitian ini menelaah bagaimana pemmali berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai kode moral budaya, tetapi juga sebagai mekanisme wacana yang memperkuat norma-norma patriarkal. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi yang dianalisis dengan pendekatan dekonstruktif falusentris. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ungkapan-ungkapan pemmali sering memuat makna gender yang tersirat, yang mengatur perilaku—terutama perempuan dan generasi muda—atas nama kedisiplinan komunal dan tanggung jawab moral. Ungkapan tersebut tertanam kuat dalam bahasa sehari-hari dan berfungsi untuk mempertahankan tatanan simbolik yang berpusat pada otoritas laki-laki dan kontrol sosial. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa bahasa pemali menjadi salah satu bagian dari produk budaya yang bertujuan untuk menjaga tatanan budaya termasuk siri yang menjadi pandangan dunia orang-orang Bugis.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the implementation of Parepare City Regulation No. 7 of 2018 regarding the effectiveness of accountability in zakat management at BAZNAS Parepare. The purpose of this research is to determine the implementation of Mayor Regulation No. 7 of 2018 on the effectiveness and accountability of zakat management at the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) in Parepare City. The research method used is qualitative research with a field research design. The number of informants in this study was 3 people from BAZNAS, and the data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employed data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research indicate that: 1) The implementation of Mayor Regulation No. 7 of 2018 on zakat management at BAZNAS Parepare has been carried out well in accordance with legal provisions for zakat management. BAZNAS has demonstrated commitment to accountability and transparency by integrating open reporting mechanisms that are easily accessible and comply with Sharia principles. 2) The effectiveness of zakat management at BAZNAS Parepare shows effective management, as evidenced by an open and easily accessible reporting system for the public, and BAZNAS's ability to ensure that zakat funds are distributed appropriately in accordance with Sharia principles and community needs. 3) Accountability in zakat management at BAZNAS Parepare indicates that BAZNAS Parepare has shown a high level of accountability in zakat management. The independent audit process validates BAZNAS's performance in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Sharia provisions, demonstrating BAZNAS's seriousness in maintaining transparency and integrity, and making zakat management responsive to community needs

Abstract

Tulisan ini menyelidiki bagaimana guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) menggunakan strategi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan toleransi beragama pada siswa di SD Negeri 5 Mimika, sebuah sekolah dasar multikultural yang memiliki keberagaman agama, suku, dan budaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis metode pedagogis yang digunakan oleh guru PAI untuk membangun sikap toleransi dalam lingkungan belajar yang heterogen. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan pendekatan kualitatif dan fenomenologis. Observasi kelas, dokumentasi, dan wawancara menyeluruh digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Informasi penelitian terdiri dari guru pendidikan anak-anak (PAI), kepala sekolah, guru kelas, dan siswa Muslim dan non-Muslim. Hipotesis awal penelitian ini adalah bahwa perkembangan sikap toleransi pada peserta didik sangat dipengaruhi oleh peran guru PAI sebagai contoh, mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai toleransi dalam pembelajaran, dan membantu siswa dari berbagai agama berinteraksi dengan baik. Temuan penelitian ini mendukung hipotesis ini. Melalui contoh, kegiatan kolaboratif, pembelajaran kontekstual, dan pendekatan komunikasi pribadi, guru PAI terbukti meningkatkan toleransi. Sementara hal-hal yang mendukung adalah budaya sekolah yang inklusif, hal-hal yang menghambat adalah konflik kecil antara siswa dan kurangnya dukungan orang tua. Secara keseluruhan, guru PAI memainkan peran penting dalam menciptakan keseimbangan keberagaman dengan menggunakan strategi pedagogis yang kontekstual dan adaptif.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher's strategy in strengthening the religious character of students at SMPN 2 Aralle, as well as identifying the form of religious character that develops and the factors supporting its success. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the strengthening of religious character is carried out through a holistic approach that includes habituation of religious activities, exemplary teachers, integration of religious values in learning, and extracurricular activities such as flash Pesantren and tadarrus Al-Qur'an. Learners show religious behaviours such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and empathy. The success of the programme is supported by the active role of the principal, teachers, parents, the availability of infrastructure and facilities, and a supportive school culture. The findings show that a collaborative and contextual approach can effectively shape learners' religious character in a sustainable manner. This research contributes to the development of a participatory school-based religious character education model.

Abstract

The tradition of sayyang pattu'du is the ancestral culture of Mandar which is combined with Islamic culture, as a form of appreciation to the children who love the Qur'an, so it becomes a motivation for children to immediately attend the Qur'an. The sub-problems in this study, namely 1) How the beginning of the emergence of the tradition of Sayyang Pattu'du, 2) How is the procedure for implementing the tradition of Sayyang Pattu'du in the village of Lero, 3) How is the acculturation of Islam with the tradition of Sayyang Pattu'du. and the purpose of this research is to find out the beginning of the emergence of the tradition of Sayyang Pattu'du in the village of Lero. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research using data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The approach used is historical approach, sociology, anthropology, phenomenology and theology. Data analysis techniques used are deductive, inductive and comparative. The results showed that: the beginning of the emergence of the tradition of sayyang pattu'du when Islam entered in the land of Mandar during the reign of the kingdom of Balanipa, namely the fourth king Daetta tommuane, which was under the preachers. Then it was developed by K.H Muhammad Tahir Imam Lapeo, so that this tradition developed and was carried out until in the village of Lero because the majority of the population was the Mandar tribe. In the village of Lero, the implementation of the sayyang pattu'du tradition was carried out every two years coupled with the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. The procedure for implementing it is through several stages, namely first preparing the things needed, ma'barasanji, marrattas baca and parrawana. This tradition is an acculturation of Islam and the culture of Mandar ancestral ancestors. Abstract

This study aims to examine the internalization of the value of tasamuh (tolerance) in the educational interaction between teacher and student through a thematic interpretation approach to the verse لَا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ (QS. Al-Baqarah: 256). The background of this research is based on the importance of education as a means of forming tolerant character in a pluralistic society, and there are still challenges in the implementation of tolerance values in the school environment. The method used is a qualitative approach with the maudhuiy (thematic) tafsir method, through the analysis of relevant Qur'anic verses, classical and contemporary interpretations, and tolerance education literature. The results of the study show that the verse لَا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ contains the principle of religious freedom which is the theological foundation for the development of tolerance in education. The internalization of tasamuh values can be carried out through an approach that integrates cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects, with teachers playing the role of facilitators and role models. Implementation strategies include interactive dialogue, experiential learning, positive reinforcement, and value reflection. The application of this pedagogical model has been proven to be able to create an inclusive, harmonious classroom environment, and support the moral and social development of students.
