Abstract

Since the Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia, teaching and learning activities must be carried out online. Therefore, to improve students’ pronunciation skills, the teacher suggests to students to use Google Translate Application as media to learn pronunciation independently. Google Translate is an application that has various features, one of them is the pronunciation feature that can convert sound into text. This feature can be used by students’ to practice pronunciation so that it can train students’ ability to pronounce difficult words. The aim of this research is to describe the students’ perceptions of using Google Translate Application and to describe the obstacles do students find using Google Translate Application as media in learning pronunciation. This research used descriptive qualitative research design. The participants of this research is 15 students of the tenth grade an Islamic public senior high school in Kudus, Indonesia. The data was collected by distributing a questionnaire to the respondents. The result of this research shows the students’ perception on using Google Translate Application as media in learning pronunciation was positive, because students can learn practically and independently. While the obstacles that students found when learning pronunciation using Google Translate were that Google Translate often had errors, could not be used offline, took a long time to load, and had low accuracy. Therefore, to help students improve their pronunciation ability, students’ can use Google Translate Application as learning media. To minimize obstacles when using Google Translate Application, it is recommended to use Wi-Fi, so that the connection is good so that loading can be faster and reduce errors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on the traditional game “Bakiak” for learning mathematics at elementary schools. This study  utilized Research and Development (R&D) methods with Borg and Gall model design which was simplified into 8 steps: (1) the potential and problems analysis; (2) data collection; (3) product design; (4) design validation; (5) design revision; (6) product testing; (7) product revision; and (8) trial use. The subjects in this study were fifth grade elementary school students at several schools in Kabupaten Pati. This study resulted in a PBL model based on “Bakiak” games for mathematics learning at elementary schools on the materials of speed, distance, and time for grade V. At the guiding phase, the investigation of individuals and groups was integrated with “Bakiak” games. The syntax for developing the model consisted of 7 stages, namely students’ orientation to problems, organizing students to learn, guiding individual and group investigations, assisting in data analysis, helping to find out mathematical concepts, developing work results, as well as analyzing and evaluating processes. The product and instruments were validated by media experts, material experts, and learning experts with a score of 3.47 (very good). Thus, the development of a PBL model based on “Bakiak” games was feasible to be used for learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of context-based and creativity-based materials at grade V SD Negeri Pangkalan in order to support the development of materials to increase students’ learning outcome. This research was development research consisting of ten steps. The needs analysis was conducted based on teachers’ and students’ perceptions carried out on 21 students at the 5th grade as the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. The data were collected through a questionnaire and a test of students’ learning outcomes. The needs analysis consisted of four aspects: content, linguistics, presentation, and graphic. This study revealed that 80.9% students who were taught through Context-based and Creativity-based materials achieved the learning completeness. Meanwhile, in the control class, only 60% student achieved the learning completeness. Thus, Context-based and Creativity-based materials were effective to improve the students’ scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the needs for Discovery Learning-based student worksheet (LKPD), especially for grade V SD Negeri Sukoharjo 01and 03, to improve students’ learning outcomes. This research was a development research utilizing Borg and Gall model which included seven steps, namely potentials and problems, data collection, product design, validation of design, revision of design, product testing, and product revision. The needs analysis of LKPD was conducted based on teachers’ and students’ perceptions to 50 students in the experimental class and 40 students in the control class. The data were collected through a questionnaire of material needs and a test for students’ learning outcomes. The results of the needs analysis based on the students’ and teachers’ perceptions included four aspects, namely (1) book content (89.1%), (2) language (91.25%), (3) presentation (88.9%), and (4) graphics (95.2%). The gain test ndicated an increase in students’ learning outcomes as much as 1.44 with  high criteria from the cognitive  aspects. Furthermore, the results of T test for the cognitive aspect was 0.172> 0.05 and T test for the psychomotor aspect was 0.062. Based on this result, there were differences in the learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it could be concluded that Discovery Learning-based LKPD improved student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Supervisi merupakan salah satu tugas kepala sekolah yang berperan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sehingga akan mempengaruhi kualitas hasil pembelajaran. Namun karena adanya tumpang tindih pekerjaan kepala sekolah, maka tugas pengawasan tidak dilaksanakan secara maksimal. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini akan mengembangkan model supervisi akademik dengan peer-based, dengan tujuan untuk mengembangkan model supervisi akademik yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru dan model yang dapat dinilai kelayakannya untuk mencari solusi dalam masalah supervisi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode research and development dengan mengembangkan model supervisi akademik berbasis teman sejawat. Sampel yang digunakan adalah guru SMP Negeri Kecamatan Bae Kudus. Hasil penelitian: 1) Guru di SMP Negeri Bae Kudus membutuhkan model supervisi akademik yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi nyata yaitu model supervisi akademik sistem delegasi untuk mencari solusi atas tumpang tindih peran dan tugas kepala sekolah, sehingga semua kompetensi guru yang ada dapat diberdayakan untuk kemajuan bersama. 2) Model supervisi akademik berbasis teman sejawat dapat memenuhi indikator pencapaian tujuan supervisi, teknik pelaksanaan supervisi, keterlibatan semua pihak dan menumbuhkan motivasi. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model supervisi akademik berbasis teman sejawat dapat diterapkan sebagai model supervisi akademik yang memenuhi kebutuhan guru dan dapat menjadi solusi atas masalah tumpang tindih tugas dan peran kepala sekolah.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the feasibility of developing a picture book based on local wisdom of Demak. Feasibility is seen from the anatomy aspects of the book, the components of the book content, the intrinsic elements of the book as well as the responses of students and teachers. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The results showed the feasibility of the book from expert validation obtained a score of 157, mean 4.62 with a percentage of 92% very good category. The results of the student response analysis obtained a score of 4383, a mean of 4.96 with a percentage of 99.2% very good category. The results of the teacher's response obtained a score of 176, the average was 4.51 with a percentage of 90.3% in the very good category. It can be concluded that the picture book based on local wisdom of Demak is suitable to be used for understanding the healthy lifestyle of students.

Abstract

Writing is a challenging skill for some English students. Before writing, students must consider the genre. A text type is genre. It's not easy to apply genre theory in writing. The students must comprehend the text's genre, general organization, and lexico-grammatical features. They have lots of ideas but can't put them into a nice writing. This is a big issue for some EFL students. This study examined the impact of genre choice and generic structure on students' writing. The researchers studied the English Class of the Psychology Department of Universitas Muria Kudus. This study is descriptive qualitative. The descriptive qualitative examines the study of students' writings based on genre choice and generic structure. This study was conducted in English class at Universitas Muria Kudus at Psychology Department. Based on the research findings, students' descriptive texts consisted of a generic structure of identification and description. A person's introduction is described in identification. A person is described in a description. Identification and description were well used by all students. Thus, the students consistently used generic structure in their writings. However, there were issues with punctuation, diction, and meaning. This research may help English Education Department, especially students who need to better their texts and think about generic organization and challenges while writing.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan game edukasi materi siklus air bagi siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian yang diambil adalah penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D). Tahapan penelitian ini terdiri 10 tahap (Sugiyono, 2019:763-764) yang kemudian disimpulkan peneliti menjadi 7 langkah tahapan yaitu potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk dan revisi produk. Teknik yang dipilih dalam pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, wawancara, dan tes. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah guru kelas V Dabin I Kecamatan Lasem dan siswa kelas V SDN di Dabin I Kecamatan Lasem. Desain pengembagan media interaktif game edukasi yang berbentuk aplikasi yang dapat diinstal di HP Android. Kelayakan produk dilihat dari hasil validasi ahli media dan ahli materi. Hasil validasi ahli media memperoleh nilai 91,6 % dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil validasi ahli materi memperoleh nilai 94,4 % dengan kategori sangat layak. Kemudian media interaktif game edukasi diterapkan pada kelas eksperimen dan hasil perhitungan N-gain adalah 0,72 dengan kategori tinggi. Uji efektifitas pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil tes tertulis pembelajaran di kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Diperoleh bahwa thitung adalah 2.425 dalam ttabel dengan a = 5% diperoleh 2.012, jadi hasil thitung > ttabel. Dari hasil penelitian ini, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media interaktif game edukasi dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas V sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the principal's academic supervision and teacher's work motivation toward the performance state elementary school teachers in Undaan District, Kudus Regency. This research is correlational research with a quantitative approach. The independent variables determined were the principal's academic supervision and teacher's work motivation, while the dependent variable observed was teacher performance. The study was conducted in 33 state elementary schools in Undaan district, Kudus Regency with a sample of 181 respondents. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was performed statistically using descriptive statistical analysis, prerequisite analysis, and final analysis for hypothesis testing. The results of the study found that (1) the principal's academic supervision has a significant effect of 10.10% toward the performance state elementary school teachers in Undaan District, Kudus Regency; (2) the teacher's work motivation has a significant effect of 37.40% toward the performance state elementary school teachers in Undaan District, Kudus Regency; and (3) the principal's academic supervision and teacher's work motivation has a significant effect of 38.40% toward the performance state elementary school teachers in Undaan District, Kudus Regency.

Abstract

Manajemen berbasis sekolah merupakan salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan kreatifitas pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui prose implementasi menejemen berbasis sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah dan guru Sekolah Dasar Negri purwosari kudus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses perencanaan dalam penerapan manajemen berbasis sekolah meliputi penetapan, visi missi, tujuan dan sasaran yang ingin dicapai dengan melakukan asesmen tentang kekuatan, hambatan, peluang dan tantangan yang dihadapi oleh Sekolah Dasar Negeri Purwosari kudus.  Pelaksanaan manajemen berbasis sekolah pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri Purwosari kudus menyusun RAPBS, Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan, mengikutsertakan komite sekolah. Partisipasi masyarakat atau komite sekolah mempunyai tugas dan fungsi untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan pada satuan pendidikan. Komite sekolah mendukung, memberi masukan, motivasi dan mengawasi kinerja guru serta mengadakan hubungan kerja sama dengan pihak lain dalam mencari dana dan ekstrakurikuler. Faktor pendukung dan penghambat implementasi manajemen berbasis sekolah di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Purwosari.Warga sekolah, wali siswa dan komite sekolah ikut mendukung kemajuan sekolah. Hal ini terbukti komite sekolah selalu memberi masukan dan membantu program sekolah, warga sekolah dan komite sekolah selalu ikutserta dalam penyusunan program sekolah dan pelaksanaannya
