Abstract

Numeracy skills are essential competencies that students must possess to face the challenges of 21st-century life. Numeracy encompasses not only the ability to perform calculations but also includes conceptual understanding, application in real-life contexts, and data-driven decision-making. This article aims to explore in depth the Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) of prospective elementary school teachers in solving numeracy problems. The study seeks to examine the PCK of prospective elementary school teachers in the context of numeracy, focusing on cognitive analysis and decision-making in mathematical problem-solving. Using a qualitative exploratory approach, data were collected through numeracy tests and interviews with students enrolled in an elementary teacher education program (PGSD). The findings reveal that the PCK of prospective elementary school teachers in numeracy consists of four main components: content knowledge, knowledge of students, knowledge of instructional strategies, and contextual knowledge. Specifically, it was found that the prospective teachers have a solid understanding of basic numeracy concepts but face challenges in applying effective strategies to address student errors. The study recommends further development in teacher training, particularly in decision-making and the adaptation of instructional strategies to suit students’ characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to see how effective the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative method is to improve learning outcomes in the subject of Citizenship Education (PPKn) at the elementary school level. This study uses a literature study method by reviewing several journals and books from relevant previous studies. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the jigsaw cooperative method in improving learning outcomes has a positive impact. Because, building students' self-confidence in expressing their opinions, learning motivation, cooperation and understanding of the students themselves regarding the subject of Citizenship Education (PPkn). This model forms individual responsibility in groups through the division of original groups and expert groups. Although effective, the success of this method depends on the role of the teacher in managing the class and seeing the characteristics of students while studying in class. Compared to other models such as Think-Pair-share and Group Investigation, the Jigsaw model is indeed superior in forming student involvement in class. Therefore, choosing the right model is very necessary in order to obtain maximum learning outcomes.

Abstract

Improvement of student learning outcomes is the main indicator in determining whether an education that is implemented is of good quality or not. The low learning outcomes of students, especially in Elementary Schools, are influenced by one factor, namely the inappropriateness of the model applied by educators. Therefore, in order for student learning outcomes to improve, it is necessary to adjust the learning model based on student needs and educational environment conditions. Analysis of the use of the Student Teams Achievement Division cooperative learning model is very appropriate to analyze the improvement of student learning outcomes in Elementary Schools. This research is a research with a qualitative approach in which a literature study was conducted to analyze and present data that students' understanding of concepts, learning outcome, and social skills can increase due to the implementation of STAD. STAD is one of the learning methods that is very effective and relevant to the needs of Elementary School students today, so that it can support active and meaningful learning

Abstract

ABSTRACT The problem raised in this study is to analyze how the habit of reading books influences the social and emotional development of elementary school students. This study uses a literature study method using various reference sources which are then collected and analyzed related to social and emotional development, reading interest, and children's reading habits. The method used emphasizes that reading as a routine activity can help the development of children's social and emotional abilities through understanding moral values, empathy, and emotional management. The results of the study show that the habit of reading, especially with reading materials that have social and emotional value, can help children interact better, manage stress, improve academic achievement, and create better character. This study confirms that family, school, and environment are very important for fostering interest in reading and integrating social and emotional literacy into the learning process. In closing, building a reading habit supported by a good environment is very important to ensure optimal social and emotional development in elementary school children. Abstract

Kemampuan menulis dan rasa percaya diri adalah dua aspek krusial yang harus ditumbuhkan sejak usia dini pada peserta didik sekolah dasar, khususnya di tingkat kelas rendah. Namun, kenyataannya masih banyak peserta didik yang menghadapi kesukaran dalam menulis serta kurang memiliki rasa percaya diri. Guru sebagai tokoh sentral dalam proses pembelajaran memiliki peran penting dalam memberikan motivasi dan dukungan melalui ucapan-ucapan yang membangun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah peran ucapan guru dalam mendorong peningkatan kemampuan menulis dan kepercayaan diri siswa kelas rendah melalui studi literatur. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, yang mengkaji sepuluh artikel ilmiah yang sesuai. Temuan dari kajian ini mengungkapkan bahwa ucapan guru yang bersifat positif, membangun, dan memotivasi mampu mendorong siswa untuk lebih percaya diri dalam mengemukakan ide melalui tulisan serta meningkatkan kualitas keterampilan menulis mereka. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu menerapkan komunikasi yang suportif dan empatik agar dapat mewujudkan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung perkembangan akademik dan emosional siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of utilizing e-comic media in the context of Indonesian language learning, particularly in enhancing reading comprehension skills among elementary school students. This literature review compiles a range of significant research findings from 2020 to 2025, focusing on the effectiveness of e-comics as pedagogical tools in Indonesian language instruction, specifically in developing students’ reading comprehension abilities at the elementary level. The findings reveal that e-comic media has proven to be effective in improving students’ reading comprehension, as evidenced by a significant increase in post-test scores following the implementation of e-comics. The integration of visual elements and narrative within e-comics creates a more immersive and dynamic learning experience, enabling students to interpret and absorb reading material more effectively. The study also indicates that factors such as student motivation, media variation, and the integration of technology in the learning process greatly influence the success of this media's implementation. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers consider incorporating e-comics into Indonesian language instruction and encourage further research into the development of other digital media that can support reading comprehension in elementary education.

Abstract

Early reading skills are essential for first-grade students as a foundation for their academic success. However, many students encounter difficulties in reading due to low motivation and less engaging teaching methods. This study reviews the role of game-based educational media, specifically picture and letter cards, in improving early reading skills. Using a literature review approach, relevant previous studies were analyzed. The findings indicate that picture and letter card media effectively enhance students’ reading abilities in a fun and interactive manner. These media help students visually recognize letters and words while increasing their motivation to learn. The teacher’s role as a facilitator is crucial in optimizing the use of these media. Validity and practicality tests show that the cards are suitable for classroom use. Therefore, game-based educational media are recommended as an effective strategy to help students overcome reading difficulties and build a strong foundation in early elementary reading.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Discovery Learning berbantuan video animasi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep efek rumah kaca pada siswa kelas VI sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan desain one-group pretest–posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas satu guru dan siswa kelas VI di SD Ibnu Sina, Duren Sawit. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, serta pretest dan posttest yang dianalisis secara naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa setelah pembelajaran. Rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 74,76 meningkat menjadi 87,46 pada posttest. Siswa menjadi lebih aktif, memahami proses efek rumah kaca secara ilmiah, serta mampu mengaitkannya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penguatan pemahaman juga didukung oleh eksperimen sederhana menggunakan dua gelas, salah satunya ditutup plastik dan dijemur di bawah sinar matahari, yang menggambarkan proses terjadinya efek rumah kaca secara nyata. Model pembelajaran ini terbukti efektif dalam membantu siswa memahami konsep abstrak secara lebih konkret dan meningkatkan partisipasi aktif selama proses pembelajaran. Discovery Learning berbantuan video animasi direkomendasikan untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Keterbatasan informasi serta pelatihant terhadap kurikulum terbaru khususnya bagi guru yang menjadi ujung tombak pelaksana pendidikan menjadi tantangan untuk mewujudkan pendidikan yang lebih baik. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru mengenai pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam serta penggunaan media permainan dalam pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tiga yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan/implementasi dan refleksi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan memberikan informasi mengenai pembelajaran abad 21, pembelajaran mendalam serta aplikasi media permaian dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan skor n-gain 56,55 dengan tafsiran cukup efektif yang berarti kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan memberikan dampak yang cukup bagi peserta.
