Abstract

The community service activity in Limporilau Village revealed that there is a problem regarding the low level of knowledge among the community about the utilization of aquaponics technology. Many people are still unaware that aquaponics can be implemented in limited spaces such as home gardens. The method used to address this issue includes socialization, lectures, discussions, and training on aquaponics system construction. The results obtained from these activities showed an improvement in the community's knowledge of aquaponics. This initiative aims to enhance food security and the self-reliance of the community. By utilizing aquaponics, which combines plant cultivation and fish farming, the community can benefit from a single system. Aquaponics also offers an alternative business opportunity for the community, as it yields high-value organic plants and fresh fish.

Abstract

The Tempe Lake plays a crucial role in the livelihoods of the community, serving as a source of sustenance. The fisherman community of the floating house around Lake Tempe possesses distinct traditions and local wisdom in the utilization of fishery resources within the lake. This research aims to analyse the perceptions and compliance of the community regarding the utilization of fishery resources in Lake Tempe. The research is situated in the village of Pallimae, a community whose fishermen inhabit floating houses of Lake Tempe. Perceptions are assessed based on the understanding of the presence and utilization of fishery resources in Lake Tempe. Community compliance is evaluated in the management of freshwater fishery resources grounded in local wisdom values. Perceptions and compliance data were gathered through questionnaires and processed using regression analysis. The results of the perception and compliance tests indicate that the floating house fisherman community in Lake Tempe adheres to local wisdom values related to fisheries resource management, encompassing (1)Conceptual levels, including prohibitions against damaging the lake’s ecosystem; (2)Value-based behaviours, such as prohibitions against littering in the lake and refraining from using coarse language and arrogance; and (3)Cultural and customary practices, including the traditional Maccera tappareng ceremony.

Abstract

One of the main problems faced by farmers is the decline in farming productivity, resulting in farmer incomes also not decreasing. Apart from that, the problem of pests and weeds is also a polemic for farmers who always rely on artificial chemicals to control them. As long as the farming system run by partner farmers is still monoculture, the farming results obtained only come from one commodity. Farmers have not yet aimed at diversifying their farming, so the income they earn is very dependent on the success of their monoculture farming. The solution offered to partners to the decline in production followed by the degradation of agricultural land whose quality is increasingly decreasing is to refer to the concept of organic farming, where the use of fertilizer production facilities is directed at the use of agricultural waste as a substitute for inorganic fertilizer, apart from being a fertilizer, also as food for fish that is environmentally friendly. Apart from that, the solution offered is the application of an integrated agricultural system with the "Mina Padi" model. This system will cultivate rice together with fish in one rice field area so that the level of pest and weed attacks on rice plantations can be minimized. Rice plants in rice fields will provide natural food for fish, while fish function as control of pests and weeds in rice plantations. Apart from that, fish is a source of nutrients for rice plants. The aim of this PKM activity is to provide alternative farming diversification for partner farmers in increasing farmer income, increasing farmer knowledge, and reducing the level of pest and weed attacks by creating natural enemies in an integrated farming concept designed in the mina padi system.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan gula merah bubuk (brown sugar) dari nira lontar di Desa Labissa bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi produk nira lontar dan kesejahteraan petani setempat. Tanaman lontar memiliki potensi besar sebagai sumber penghasilan, namun pengolahan tradisional yang kurang efisien menghambat manfaat optimal. Dalam kegiatan ini, tim pengabdian dari Universitas Puangrimaggalatung memberikan pelatihan tentang teknik pengolahan nira lontar menggunakan teknologi tepat guna untuk memproduksi gula merah bubuk. Proses pelatihan meliputi pengenalan teknologi pengolahan, praktik langsung, serta strategi pemasaran produk berbasis digital. Pelaksanaan program ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok tani, memperbaiki kemasan dan pemasaran produk, serta memberikan solusi untuk masalah yang dihadapi petani, seperti rendahnya harga gula cetak dan kemasan yang kurang menarik. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas produk, jangkauan pemasaran yang lebih luas, serta peningkatan pendapatan bagi masyarakat. Dengan adanya teknologi tepat guna, produksi gula merah bubuk berhasil memberikan nilai tambah yang signifikan bagi kelompok tani di Desa Labissa.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pelatihan pengolahan buah naga menjadi keripik renyah di Desa Ganra Kabupaten Soppeng bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan dan meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat setempat. Buah naga hasil budidaya petani hanya di petik dan di jual ke pasar lokal tanpa adanya pengolahan, bahkan harga menjadi lebih sangat murah ketika musim panen. Dalam kegiatan ini, tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat dari Univeristas Puangrimaggalatung melakukan pelatihan kepada masyarakat terkait pengolahan buah naga merah dengan menggunakan teknologi. Adapun pelatihan ini meliputi pengenalan teknologi, praktik penggunaan alat dan strategi pemasaran produk. Pelatihan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini guna meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah menjadi produk, membuat kemasan menarik hingga pemasaran produk melalui e-commerce. Dari kegiatan pelatihan ini menghasilkan produk keripik renyah dari buah naga merah, menggunakan kemasan yang berkualitas, dan jangkauan pemasaran yang lebih luas, serta menambah pendapatan bagi masyarakat setempat. Alat teknologi yang digunakan merupakan teknologi tepat guna yang dapat membantu masyarakat Desa Ganra dalam membuat produk keripik buah naga dan kemasan yang berdaya saing.

Abstract

Silk woven fabric is a cultural heritage that has been passed down from generation to generation in Wajo Regency, one of which is in Walanga Village. The increasing demand for silk woven fabric shows that consumers are still interested in it, this also makes it one of the economic drivers in Walanga Village. The increasing demand is not supported by the high bargaining value of silk woven fabric. This is caused by the absence of product packaging. So far, silk woven fabrics have been sold without packaging. Community service activities carried out by partners go through several stages, namely: socialization, training, application of technology, mentoring and evaluation, and monitoring. The objective of this activity is to enhance the market value of silk weaving artisans, thereby contributing to the economic growth of the Walanga Village community. The outcomes of this program indicate improvements in product quality and increased income for the community. Attractive packaging has further boosted the product's market value, positively impacting the community's welfare.

Abstract

Abstrak. Keberadaan Danau Tempe di Kabupaten wajo merupakan anugerah bagi masyarakat sekitar yang mayoritas menggantungkan hidupnya sebagai nelayan. Potensi ikan Danau Tempe cukup besar perlahan menurun semenjak maraknya keberadaan ikan sapu-sapu dan membuat hasil tangkapan nelayan semakin berkurang. Sifatnya yang predator dan kompetitor berhasil merubah ekosistem Danau Tempe, begitu juga tingkat pendapatan masyarakat semakin berkurang. Banyaknya hasil tangkapan ikan sapu-sapu para nelayan membuatnya kewalahan dalam mengolahnya. Pemanfaatan potensi ikan sapu-sapu dilakukan dengan pendekatan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam mengelola sumber daya lokal. Sebelumnya warga sekitar mengolah ikan sapu-sapu menjadi tepung dan pelet berbasis tradisional sehingga ditemui banyak kendala sehingga tidak dapat menghasilkan keuntungan yang memuaskan. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah :1) meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok mitra terkait penerapan teknologi melalui diversifikasi pengolahan tepung ikan dan pelet, 2) Meningkatkan kualitas dan nilai jual produk tepung dan pellet dan pengemasan yang lebih menarik dan tahan lama, 3) Meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra terkait manajemen pengelolaan keuangan yang akuntabel dan berkelanjutan, 4) Memperluas jangkauan pemasaran produk tepung ikan sapu-sapu dan pellet dari tepung ikan melalui pendampingan terkait strategi pemasaran produk menggunakan sosial media. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah mitra mampu membuat tepung berkualitas dan pelet bernutrisi dari ikan sapu-sapu serta mitra memahami dengan baik konsep penguatan usaha yang diberikan.Kata kunci : Ikan Sapu-sapu, Tepung, Pellet, Pendapatan

Abstract

Sekam padi merupakan produk sampingan dari proses penggilingan padi dan sering kali dianggap sebagai limbah pertanian. Desa Bilariase Kabupaten Sidrap, merupakan salah satu desa yang dikenal sebagai penghasil padi yang memiliki potensi besar dalam sektor pertanian, khususnya dalam produksi padi. Namun menghasilkan limbah yakni sekam padi, dan limbah ini tidak dimanfaatkan padahal memiliki potensi yang dapat memberikan nilai tambah bagi masyarakat setempat dan mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan. Dalam kegiatan ini, tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat dari Universitas Puangrimaggalatung melakukan pelatihan kepada masyarakat terkait pengolahan sekam padi menjadi briket yang ramah lingkungan dengan menggunakan teknologi. Dalam pelatihan ini meliputi pengenalan alat teknologi, praktik langsung penggunaan alat, dan cara pemasaran briket yang dihasilkan serta strategi pemasaran melalui e-commerce. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yakni untuk menambah pengetahuan dan meningkatkan keterampilan mitra dalam memanfaatkan sekam menjadi briket yang ramah lingkungan, dan pemasaran produk melalui e-commerce. Alat teknologi yang digunakan merupakan teknologi tepat guna yang dapat membantu masyarakat Desa Bila Riase dalam membuat produk briket dan kemasan yang berdaya saing. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR), melibatkan beberapa tahapan yakni survey lokasi, sosialisasi program ke mitra, pelatihan dan implementasi pengolahan briket dengan menerapkan teknologi, cara pengemasan produk, serta pelatihan pemasaran produk melalui e-commerce.

Abstract

The floating village of Lake Tempe is one of the villages around Lake Tempe, Wajo Regency. The livelihood of the community is generally fishing. Training on the use of fish waste into organic liquid fertilizer (POC) was carried out using lecture and demonstration methods. The Lecture Method is used to increase public understanding regarding the use of fish waste which can be used as Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) which is good for maintaining soil fertility and is beneficial for plants and helps reduce environmental pollution caused by fish waste. Next, a direct practice/demonstration was carried out regarding the methods for making the POC. Liquid organic fertilizer (POC), which uses fish waste, takes 14 days to make. The results of making liquid organic fertilizer (POC) were given to participants, not just giving it away but providing information on how to make fertilizer and the dosage for applying it so that residents and farmers could try and gain knowledge of making liquid organic fertilizer (POC). In this training activity, participants were very enthusiastic about taking part in the training, as evidenced by their enthusiastic attitude towards the material presented. The enthusiastic attitude of the training participants was shown through the many questions during the training. It is hoped that after this training activity is completed, participants will be interested in trying to apply it in their respective living environments.
