Abstract

Physical motor development is an essential and easily observable indicator of children’s growth. Parental involvement plays a crucial role in optimizing this development, particularly during the child’s golden age. This study aims to analyze the importance of motor development and examine how parents support children’s learning through a developmental psychology perspective. Using a literature review method, the findings reveal that child development is shaped by genetic and environmental factors, while active support from parents and teachers has long-term effects on children’s physical, emotional, and social readiness. Understanding developmental psychology enables parents to provide appropriate stimulation that maximizes children’s potential. Using literature review methods, it was found that motor development is influenced by genetic and environmental factors, while positive interactions between children, parents, and educators contribute to long-term physical, social, and emotional development. A deep understanding of developmental psychology enables parents to design appropriate stimulation strategies to maximize their children's potential.

Abstract

The development of postmodern culture has had a major influence on the way teenagers express their identity through clothing. Dress style is no longer just a matter of aesthetics, but has also become a symbol of freedom of expression that often clashes with family norms that uphold moral, religious, and cultural values. This study aims to understand the dynamics of fashion ethics negotiation between teenagers and parents in the postmodern era through an analysis of social, cultural, and family communication perspectives. The study uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach of 15 national journals discussing the role of parents, freedom of expression, fashion ethics, and the influence of global culture on teenagers. The results show that value negotiation occurs through open communication between parents and children, where both parties try to adjust moral values to the needs of self-actualization. Parents act as moral guides, while adolescents seek to obtain freedom that is still in line with social norms. This study contributes to the strengthening of character education, family communication patterns, and strategies for instilling ethical dress values amid the challenges of modern culture.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the technique of creating visual depictions of Javan Hawk-eagle feathers in a mixed-media fantasy body painting and to evaluate the visual quality of the resulting feather textures in representing the morphological characteristics of the Javan Hawk-eagle, an Indonesian endemic animal. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with descriptive percentage analysis. Data were obtained through an assessment process by three expert validators who evaluated the works based on indicators of elements and principles of fine art, the use of the body as a medium for aesthetic expression, creativity in beauty products, and aesthetic aspects in the beauty industry. Furthermore, percentage analysis was used to determine the visual quality of the works based on the validators' assessments. The results showed that the works obtained an average percentage of 96.7%, categorized as "very good." The feather visualization technique was carried out through the application of layering techniques, color gradation, and feather direction arrangement that follows the anatomical contours of the model's body, resulting in visual depth and a realistic impression. These results indicate that mixed-media body painting techniques can produce aesthetically pleasing and innovative feather visuals that represent the morphology of the Javan Hawk-eagle. These findings confirm that body painting can be a medium for artistic exploration of modern makeup based on local wisdom as well as a visual tool to enhance appreciation for Indonesia's endemic fauna.

Abstract

Indonesia has natural and cultural riches that have great potential as a source of inspiration in creating works of art, including in the field of fantasy make-up. However, the utilization of local natural potential, especially from the Papua region such as Lake Sentani, is still not optimal in developing body painting works. This research aims to determine the feasibility of visualizing Lake Sentani as inspiration for fantasy body painting make-up designs in creating artistic works. The method used is quantitative descriptive involving three expert validators in the field of beauty and design. The data collection technique is carried out through performance tests using a Likert scale assessment instrument which has been tested for validity and reliability. Assessment indicators include the visual aesthetics of works, elements and principles of fine art, the body as a medium for aesthetic expression, beauty product creativity, meaning and visual representation, and aesthetics in the field of beauty. Data analysis uses descriptive percentage techniques. The research results show that all indicators received a very feasible category with an average value of 96%. The beauty product creativity indicator received the highest score of 100%, while the other indicators were in the range 92%–97%. These findings show that the visualization of Lake Sentani can be processed into fantasy make-up works that are aesthetic, innovative and have strong visual meaning. Abstract

The Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus) is an endemic Indonesian animal that is critically endangered and has distinctive visual characteristics, such as a sturdy body, thick, folded skin, and dark gray color. These visual characteristics have the potential to be a source of inspiration in creating fantasy makeup through body painting techniques. This study aims to develop fantasy makeup on clay sculptures inspired by the Javan rhinoceros, as well as to assess the validity of the instrument and the feasibility of the resulting work. This study uses a research and development method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through instrument validation sheets by experts and work feasibility assessment sheets, then analyzed using Aiken's V and descriptive percentages. The results showed that the assessment instrument had an Aiken's V value of 0.81 with a very valid category, while the developed work obtained an average feasibility of 90.97% with a very feasible category. These results indicate that the application of body painting techniques to clay sculptures is able to produce fantasy makeup works that meet the aesthetic, visual, creativity aspects, and suitability with the character of the object of inspiration. The implications of this research indicate that visuals of Indonesia's endemic fauna can be utilized as a source of creative ideas in developing works and teaching beauty art.
