Abstract

This community service program aims to improve adolescent girls’ knowledge of balanced nutrition, anemia prevention, reproductive health, and stunting prevention. The program was conducted at Mega Islamic Boarding High School in Semarang City and involved 47 female students. The intervention was implemented through socialization sessions and interactive educational methods. Program evaluation employed a pre-test and post-test design, with data analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results indicate an average increase in knowledge scores of 11.21%, with a statistically significant difference between pre-intervention and post-intervention scores (p < 0.05). Educational activities focusing on nutrition, reproductive health, and stunting prevention for adolescent girls have important implications for strengthening the role of schools in promoting adolescent health. The structured boarding school environment positions schools as strategic settings for fostering sustainable health behaviors. Therefore, it is recommended that health education activities be integrated into extracurricular programs or dormitory guidance and supported by the establishment of adolescent health teams or student health cadres as agents of change through a peer education approach. Furthermore, sustained partnerships with community health centers and universities should be strengthened to support mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability, ensuring that initiatives to improve adolescent girls’ health literacy contribute meaningfully to the long-term prevention of stunting.

Abstract

The journey to personalize breast cancer therapy increasingly navigates the complex landscape of somatic TP53 mutations, the most frequent genetic drivers of this disease. Moving beyond a simple prognostic badge, we now understand these mutations create a spectrum of clinical behaviors, deeply influenced by their specific functional impact and, critically, by their genetic companions. A systematic literature review was conducted across three major electronic databases: ScienceDirect, ProQuest, and Scopus. The search was restricted to peer-reviewed journal articles published in English between 2021 and 2024 to ensure the inclusion of recent evidence. The confluence of TP53 and PIK3CA mutations stands out as a devastating synergy that heralds a tumor phenotype with profound resistance to common chemotherapy regimens, especially taxanes, and the direst survival outcomes. This genetic context also subtly reshapes responses to HER2-targeted drugs, revealing that TP53's influence is both powerful and context-dependent. A more nuanced profiling, one that accounts for these critical genetic interactions, is no longer a future aspiration but a present necessity. These findings collectively advocate for the integration of comprehensive molecular profiling, including nuanced TP53 and PIK3CA assessment, into clinical decision-making.

Abstract

Menstruation is a physiological process in women representing sexual reproductive maturity. In this cycle, personal hygiene focused on the genitalia (menstrual hygiene) is a crucial aspect. Poor menstrual hygiene can lead to genital tract infections, which may have long-term health impacts such as infertility and decreased quality of life. Lack of understanding regarding menstrual hygiene can also trigger reproductive health issues, including vaginal discharge, reproductive tract infections (RTIs), pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and the risk of cervical cancer. Menstrual hygiene behavior is influenced by various factors, including individual knowledge and attitudes. Adequate knowledge and a positive attitude are essential foundations for consistent healthy practices. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes toward menstrual hygiene behavior among female adolescents. This research employed a descriptive-analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of first-year Midwifery Diploma students at Poltekkes Semarang, with a total sample of 118 respondents selected via total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. The respondents' age range was 17–19 years. Findings showed that 90.7% of respondents had previously received information about menstrual hygiene, with 26.3% obtaining it through social media. Furthermore, 72% of respondents possessed a high level of knowledge, and 57.6% exhibited a positive attitude toward menstrual hygiene. Bivariate analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000 ($p < 0.05$), indicating a significant relationship between knowledge and menstrual hygiene behavior, as well as a significant relationship between attitude and menstrual hygiene behavior among female adolescents. High knowledge of menstrual hygiene is associated with good hygiene behavior, and female adolescents with positive attitudes tend to practice better menstrual hygiene. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for educational institutions and healthcare providers to improve reproductive health, specifically regarding menstrual hygiene practices among adolescents and students.
