Abstract

Carbon Dots (C-dots) are carbon-based nanomaterials that have fluorescent properties, are environmentally friendly, and are easily synthesized from organic waste materials. This research aims to synthesize C-dots from potato skins using the microwave irradiation method as an environmentally friendly and economical alternative to increase the growth of chili plants. Application tests on chili plants were carried out by adding C-dots solution to the growing medium in various concentrations (control, 50 mg/L, 60 mg/L, and 70 mg/L). Observation results showed that chili plants watered with C-Dots showed optimum growth rates found to occur with 50 mg/L carbon dots, compared to the control study, which shows a balance between growth stimulation and effective nutrient absorption without causing toxicity effects on the plants. Then, the resulting C-Dots samples were characterized using a UV-Vis Spectrophotometer using a wavelength range of 200-800 nm. The results of measurements with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer showed absorption at a wavelength of 251 nm and showed an absorbance peak of 4.379.

Abstract

This study developed a website-based learning media, Base Physics (BASIC), to improve high school students' science literacy in physics following the Merdeka Curriculum. The Research and Development (R&D) method was used with the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). This media is designed to overcome the limitations of learning resources and provide additional references that are interactive and easily accessible. This study involved 35 students of class XII IPA at SMAN 6 Serang City and three expert validators who assessed the aspects of content, Design, and language. The validation results showed BASIC had a feasibility level of 96%, while the limited trial obtained positive responses from students with a percentage of 82%. This media is recognised for improving understanding of physics concepts, scientific thinking skills, and student engagement in learning. Thus, BASIC can be an innovative learning medium that supports physics science literacy in schools. This research recommends further development in Design and material coverage and evaluation of its effectiveness on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the rate of temperature decrease in atmospheric conditions and determine the comparison between atmospheric stability and rainfall in Tangerang City using daily rainfall data and upper air data for the period 2019 to 2023. The data was obtained from Soekarno-Hatta Meteorological Station. The results of the analysis showed that the highest rainfall occurred in February 2020, with a total of 23 rainy days. In addition, lapse rate analysis indicates that atmospheric conditions are in a conditionally unstable state for 25 days. However, there is a difference between the number of rainy days and the number of days with unstable conditions, indicating that atmospheric instability does not always lead to precipitation. This study explains that although rain occurs under unstable atmospheric conditions, not all unstable conditions produce rain. Therefore, this study recommends the need for further studies to understand the complex interactions between meteorological factors that influence heavy rainfall phenomena in the region. Keywords: atmosphere, lapse rate, precipitation

Abstract

Abstract

Physics learning often faces challenges in visualizing abstract concepts such as electromagnetic waves, especially ultraviolet (UV) light. This research aims to develop and test the feasibility of Physics Parameter Monitoring System (PPMs) of UV based on IoT as a medium for skin cancer education. The system consists of GUVA-S12SD sensor, DHT11, Wemos D1 ESP8266, and Blynk platform for real-time data visualization. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method of the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The feasibility test by experts showed that the LKPD scored 85.25% and the UV PPMs 80.75%, both in the very feasible category. Implementation on class XI students increased active participation (80%) and concept understanding (up 15%). The results showed that PPMs UV can be used in interactive learning, helping students understand the relationship between UV rays and skin cancer risk, and developing data analysis skills. However, limitations such as limited research coverage, short trial duration, and reliance on the paid Blynk platform potentially hinder accessibility. Therefore, further development could include improving the design of the tool, testing on a wider scale, and integrating auto-upgrading and data storage features to make it more effective in learning and environmental monitoring.

Abstract

A (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Animation) berbasis kearifan lokal. Hasil observasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa setelah diterapkan pembelajaran STEM-A (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Animation) berbasis kearifan lokal. Development of STEM-A (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Animation) Based on Local Values in Physics LearningLearning physics is still traditional in reality. It tends to be centered on Teachers. They only transfer knowledge without knowing the learners already understand the concept yet or not. The average achievement understanding of physics concept results is still low. Rapidly evolving technology is still rarely used by teachers. Though this could be one of the alternatives to make learning more interesting and memorable. Connecting the local knowledge in the area of learners can make students more familiar with the natural resources in the region and can be introduced to the outside world. Given these problems, the need for integration between models, evaluation and learning media STEM-A (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Animation) based on local wisdom. The methods used were a Quasi-Experiment with the design of the study "One Group Pretest-Posttest Design." Observations indicate an increased understanding of the student concept after learning applied STEM-A (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Animation) based on local wisdom with medium category in gain normalization. By learning this concept, students could be aware of local wisdom "Batu Kuwung" and understand how to get advantage from it. The results of the study will continue to be developed in the courses in the Department of Physical Education University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa.
