Abstract

This study intends to provide information: (1) the level of scientific attitude ability of Biology students (2) the level of learning outcomes of Biology lessons (3) see the relationship between scientific attitudes and learning outcomes in Biology. The type of research was correlation research. The research population was all high school students in Ogan Komering ilir district, which is taken 30% of the sample area so that 5 districts represent the population. The sample technique used is perposive sampling with a total of 1827 students and the instruments used are scientific attitude questionnaires and odd semester test scores for the 2020/2021 school year. The results showed ((1) students' scientific attitude obtained an average score of 89 in the medium category, (2) cognitive learning outcomes of Biology students obtained an average score of 82 in the medium category, (3) There was a significant relationship between scientific attitudes and cognitive learning outcomes in Biology lessons with a relationship level of 0.655 including a "strong" correlation. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk memberikan informasi: (1) tingkat kemampuan sikap ilmiah siswa pelajaran Biologi (2) tingkat kemampuan hasil belajar pelajaran Biologi (3) melihat hubungan antara sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar pelajaran Biologi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasi. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas di kabupaten Ogan Komering ilir, yang diambil 30% dari sampel wilayah sehingga 5 kabupaten mewakili populasi. Tekhnik sampel yang digunakan adalah perposive sampling dengan total siswa adalah 1827 siswa dan instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuisioner sikap ilmiah dan nilai ulangan semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa; (1) sikap ilmiah siswa memperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 89 dengan kategori sedang, (2) Hasil belajar Kognitif siswa pelajaran Biologi memperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 82 dengan kategori sedang, (3) Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara sikap ilmiah dengan hasil belajar Kognitif pelajaran Biologi dengan tingkatan hubungan sebesar 0,655 termasuk dalam korelasi “kuat”.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes of Lubuklinggau State High School students using a Virtual Laboratory in class XI MIA in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year on the Excretion System material. Methods: The sample of this study was 133 students, consisting of 68 control class students and 65 experimental class students, selected using simple random sampling technique. The design used is the pre-test and post-test control group design. Quantitative research data in the form of students' cognitive learning outcomes, namely pre-test scores and post-test scores. Results: The results showed that there was a significant increase in learning outcomes using a virtual laboratory as seen by the Independent t test (sig 0.000 < 0.05) and the sample paired t test to see the effect of using a virtual laboratory in the experimental class (sig 0.000 <0, 05). This means that using a virtual laboratory can have an influence on student learning outcomes in the experimental class. Conclusion: There is an increase in student learning outcomes of SMA Negeri Lubuklinggau by using a Virtual Laboratory. Key words: Learning Outcome, Virtual Laboratory Abstrak  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri Lubuklinggau menggunakan Laboratorium Virtual pada kelas XI MIA semester genap tahun ajaran 2019/2020 pada materi Sistem Eksresi. Metode: Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 133 siswa, terdiri dari 68 siswa kelas kontrol  dan 65 siswa kelas eksperimen, dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Desain yang digunakan yaitu desain pre-test and post-test control group design. Data penelitian kuantitatif berupa hasil belajar kognitif siswa yakni nilai pre-test dan nilai post-test. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar menggunakan laboratorium virtual dilihat dengan uji Independent t test (sig 0,000 < 0,05) dan uji sample paired t test untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaaan laboratorium virtual pada kelas eksperimen (sig 0,000<0,05). Artinya dengan menggunakan laboratorium virtual dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen. Kesimpulan: Terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri Lubuklinggau dengan menggunakan Laboratorium Virtual. Kata kunci: Hasil Belajar, Laboratorium Virtual.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the not yet optimal application of differentiated learning where teachers have not accommodated students' learning needs, in the form of learning readiness, learning interest and student learning profile (style). This study aims to improve student learning activities and outcomes. Data collection techniques using instruments: (1) student activity observation sheets, and (2) learning achievement tests. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that: The average percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes in cycle I was 92%, increasing to 96% in cycle II. While the percentage of student learning activities in cycle I reached 90.25%, an increase of 92% in cycle II. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of differentiated learning through the Problem Based Learning learning model can optimize student learning activities and outcomes.

Abstract

Nata merupakan salah satu jenis pangan funsgional yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber nutrisi magi masyarakat. Nata merupakan kumpulan selulosa yang berbentuk menjadi lembaran bertekstur kenyal, berwarna putih, serta mengapung pada substrat cairan air kelapa. Bahan utama yang sering digunakan dalam membuat nata adalah air kelapa dengan berbantuan bakteri Acetobacter xylinum serta sederetan proses pembuatan secara steril. Pada umumnya nata de coco dibuat dengan bantuan urea, namun tidak pada pengabdian masyarakat ini. Nata yang dihasilkan bebas dari zat kimia melainkan menggunakan ekstrak toge biji kacang hijau. Proses ini penting untuk diinformasikan kepada masyarakat khususnya ibu-ibu PKK Rias Dana Desa Pangestu Kecamatan Makarti Jaya Kabupaten Banyuasin. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi ceramah, praktek dan evaluasi. Survei mitra menunjukkan bahwa mitra sangat memahami proses pembuatan nata de coco dan sudah mencoba secara mandiri dalam proses pembuatannta.

Abstract

Developing students' critical thinking skills and improving cognitive learning outcomes remain essential goals in mathematics education. This study aimed to examine the implementation and effectiveness of the Inquiry Learning model in enhancing students' critical thinking abilities and understanding of prism and pyramid concepts. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart (1988) spiral model, consisting of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The study was conducted in two cycles involving 27 students of class IX B at MTs Muqimus Sunnah Palembang. The learning process integrated inquiry-based instruction supported by Student Worksheets (LKPD). Findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ cognitive learning outcomes. By the end of the second cycle, 81.48% of students achieved the minimum mastery criteria, reflecting increased understanding of geometric concepts. Observational data also revealed enhanced student engagement and active participation. The Inquiry Learning model effectively promoted critical thinking through student-led problem exploration, hypothesis formulation, and data analysis. The success of the Inquiry Learning model was attributed to its student-centered approach, which encouraged active learning and deeper conceptual understanding. Students demonstrated improved reasoning and problem-solving skills as a result of engaging with real learning challenges. The application of the Inquiry Learning model, supported by structured worksheets, effectively improved both critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes in geometry. This model is recommended for broader implementation in similar educational contexts.

Abstract

The overall objective of this community service activity is to empower the community through the use of medicinal plant gardens as one of the efforts to address stunting in Tanjung Batu Seberang Village, Tanjung Batu Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. Specifically, this activity aims to: (1) provide a deeper understanding of the importance of health, (2) explain the various types of medicinal plants that can be used to improve health, particularly in combating stunting, and (3) change the community's mindset regarding the importance of health quality. The approach used in this activity is a descriptive qualitative method. The implementation of the activity is divided into three phases: first, administering pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess participants' initial and final understanding; second, delivering materials on the use of medicinal plant gardens to address stunting; and third, providing training on planting medicinal plants. The subjects of this activity are 50 residents of Tanjung Batu Seberang Village. The instruments used are pre-test and post-test questionnaires, with the activity conducted in one day. The results show that 86.50% of participants understand basic health concepts, 92.54% can explain the types of medicinal plants that could potentially combat stunting, and 91.51% experienced a shift in mindset regarding health quality. In conclusion, this training provides practical solutions and motivation for the community to adopt healthier lifestyles, particularly in maintaining children's nutrition by utilizing processed plants as a source of nutritious food, thus improving nutritional status and the overall quality of life in Tanjung Batu Seberang Village.
