Abstract

Industrial activities can increase waste discharge which has an impact on reducing water quality. Decreasing water quality requires methods for solving problems. The development of problem solving abilities can be improved in practical activities. In practical learning, students are expected to be able to reconstruct concepts through solving problems, so they can develop science process skills. These practical activities can be facilitated using problem-based practical worksheets. The aim of this research is to design problem-based practicum worksheets to support students' science process skills related to preliminary studies, product development design, validity testing, and student responses to small-scale testing. The type of research used is development research using the Borg & Gall model to small scale trials. This research was carried out from July to August 2023. The data collection techniques used in this research were interviews and giving questionnaires. The instruments used in this research were an interview guide sheet, a questionnaire sheet for product validation, and a student response questionnaire sheet. Next, the data was analyzed descriptively. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the practicum worksheet that was developed began with a preliminary study regarding the need for problem-based practicum worksheets on water quality material. The design developed is based on problem-based practical worksheet components that have been validated by two experts. Furthermore, a small-scale trial was carried out which showed that the material aspects were categorized as very good, the graphics were categorized as good, and the language was categorized as very good. Thus, the results of this development can be continued in large-scale tests and can be implemented in the practical learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the form of implementation of participation and the level of student participation in waste management at school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research which aims to describe and analyze student participation in waste management through the Adiwiyata program which has been implemented in schools. The results of research on the implementation of student participation in managing types of waste at Adiwiyata High School in Palembang City include the use of trash bins based on type, and waste management participation activities by students. The use of trash cans by students has been implemented, but there are still students who have not thrown rubbish into trash cans based on the type. Student participation activities in waste management based on type include composting, clean Fridays, collecting, sorting and recycling waste, as well as a healthy canteen. The level of student participation in organic waste management has a percentage of 64.8% in the active category, inorganic waste management has a percentage of 71.3% in the active category, and B3 waste management has a percentage of 56.3% in the quite active category at Adiwiyata High School in Palembang City.

Abstract

Sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kompetensi peserta didik maka diperlukan suatu perencanaan agar pelaksanaan pembelajaran berjalan optimal. Salah satu wujud dari kompetensi guru dalam perencanaan, yaitu guru mampu membuat bahan ajar yang dapat memotivasi peserta didik dalam pemecahan suatu masalah. Perencanaan tersebut dapat tertuang pada lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) berbasis masalah (PBL). Berdasarkan hasil data pendahuluan terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru–guru IPA Kota Pagaralam, didapatkan hasil bahwa 78% guru–guru biologi IPA menggunakan metode ceramah melalui media conference seperti zoom meeting. Penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah jarang dilakukan mengingat saat ini masih berada di kondisi pandemi covid-19. Selain itu sebagian besar guru–guru IPA kota Pagaralam menggunakan LKPD yang terdapat di buku saja. Hal ini kurang sesuai dengan kondisi nyata yang ada lingkungan peserta didik sehingga peserta didik kurang memiliki kemampuan dalam pemecahan masalah. Oleh karena itu, upaya yang harus dilakukan, yaitu melakukan perencanaan dengan mendesain LKPD berbasis PBL yang dirancang secara digital menjadi E-LKPD Berbasis PBL. Tujuan pelatihan ini: (1) guru dapat mengurutkan langkah–langkah pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning); (2) guru dapat merancang E-LKPD berbasis pembelajaran PBL; (3) guru dapat menghasilkan E-LKPD berbasis pembelajaran PBL. Model kegiatan yang akan dilaksanakan yaitu model pendampingan yang ditujukan kepada guru IPA MGMP kota Pagaralam, berjumlah 20 orang yang berasal dari beberapa SMP Negeri dan Swasta di kota Pagaralam.  Berdasarkan hasil Evaluasi PreTest dan Posttest menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru dalam pembuatan E-LKPD berbasis PBL setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Peningkatan pemahaman terlihat melalui peningkatan nilai rata–rata hasil tes awal dan tes akhir sebesar 47,44%. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, setelah kegiatan pelatihan ini diharapkan adanya kegiatan lanjutan berupa integrasi E-LKPD dalam rancangan pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP)

Abstract

Based on the results of field observations, several problems were found, including low student learning outcomes, lack of student activity in the learning process, and the use of teaching materials that were less interesting to learn. This study aims to describe the application of contextual-based LKPD in an effort to improve student learning outcomes in the Indonesian language subject. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were analyzed descriptively through the calculation of averages and percentages. Learning completion criteria were determined based on individual and classical completion. The results of the study showed an increase in learning completion in each cycle, which was 64% in cycle I, and increased to 89% in cycle II. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of contextual-based LKPD is effective in improving the learning outcomes of grade IV students in elementary schools.

Abstract

The results of an interview with a science teacher in Ogan Ilir district that science teachers mastered the skills of various learning models including direct learning models. Some of the junior high school science materials are declarative or procedural. Material that is declarative or procedural requires skills that are carried out in stages of the entire series of activities displayed. The purpose of this community service activity (CSA) is to improve the ability of junior high school science teachers to master the direct teaching model, compile a direct teaching model rpp and be able to implement the direct teaching model in the classroom. The implementation of the activity is carried out in several stages, namely: 1. The preparatory stage, namely field observations and interviews with teachers, reading references to direct learning model materials, holding discussions with PPM team members, preparing training materials in the form of Power Point, approaching school staff and teachers and coordinating related parties. 2. Implementation stage, namely direct training with training methods, demonstrations and discussions and visualizations. Through CSA activities, science teachers from the Ogan Ilir MGMP groups can compile or modify direct learning models with a scientific approach. MGMP science teachers have been able to make 5 aspects of learning implementation planning (LIP), namely listing: learning indicators and objectives, organizing materials, media and learning resources, learning activity steps, and evaluating learning outcomes. Therefore, the RPP format made by mgmp science teachers in Ogan Ilir district was declared feasible. This is evident from the assessment results with all 100 values. After attending the CSA training material, participants enjoyed the material presented, felt that this material was very necessary and felt that their knowledge increased

Abstract

Salah satu pendekatan yang relevan dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21 adalah Problem-Based Learning (PBL), yang menekankan pemecahan masalah nyata untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreatif, serta kolaboratif. Untuk mengimplementasikan PBL secara optimal, diperlukan media digital interaktif seperti E-LKPD yang terintegrasi dengan platform Liveworksheet dan dipadukan dengan penyajian materi melalui Nearpod. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 13 Palembang yang memiliki potensi besar dalam mengadopsi pembelajaran inovatif. Hasil identifikasi kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa guru masih terbatas dalam menyusun LKPD berbasis PBL dan belum terbiasa menggunakan media digital interaktif. Selain itu, guru memerlukan pendampingan teknis untuk memanfaatkan platform Liveworksheet dan Nearpod secara efektif dalam pembelajaran. Solusi yang ditawarkan meliputi pelatihan dan workshop intensif penyusunan E-LKPD berbasis PBL berbantuan Liveworksheet, serta pelatihan integrasi E-LKPD ke dalam Nearpod. Tahapan kegiatan mencakup pelatihan konsep dasar PBL dan digitalisasi LKPD, praktik langsung penyusunan E-LKPD, serta presentasi produk. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui tes awal dan akhir, observasi praktik, serta kuesioner respon peserta. Liveworksheet digunakan untuk mengubah LKPD konvensional menjadi format digital interaktif, sedangkan Nearpod berfungsi sebagai media penyajian materi yang dinamis dan partisipatif. Luaran kegiatan meliputi modul pelatihan, template LKPD berbasis PBL, minimal sepuluh produk E-LKPD interaktif, akun aktif guru pada kedua platform, serta produk presentasi pembelajaran interaktif. Selain itu, diharapkan terbentuk komunitas guru pengembang E-LKPD dan tersusun video praktik baik. Program ini mendukung SDGs poin 4 tentang Pendidikan Berkualitas, sejalan dengan kebijakan Merdeka Belajar dan IKU pendidikan tinggi, serta berkontribusi pada peningkatan kapasitas profesional guru dan literasi digital siswa.

Abstract

Upaya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dan pengembangan kompetensi peserta didik menuntut adanya perencanaan pembelajaran yang sistematis serta inovatif. Artikel ini bertujuan menggambarkan pengembangan dan implementasi bahan ajar digital berbasis Project-Based Learning (PjBL) dan Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sebagai strategi peningkatan kapasitas guru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada deep learning. Konteks penelitian ini berada di SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang yang tengah melakukan transformasi menuju Lab-school Unsri, sehingga memerlukan penguatan praktik pembelajaran melalui bahan ajar digital yang kontekstual, kolaboratif, dan berpusat pada siswa. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan, workshop, dan pendampingan intensif bagi guru. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru terhadap konsep deep learning (mindful learning, meaningful learning, dan joyful learning) serta keterampilan dalam menyusun bahan ajar digital berbasis PjBL dan PBL. Identifikasi masalah di lapangan menunjukkan tiga isu utama: rendahnya pemahaman guru tentang deep learning, terbatasnya bahan ajar digital berbasis PjBL dan PBL, serta kurangnya integrasi bahan ajar digital dengan konsep deep learning. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test pemahaman konsep, validasi produk bahan ajar digital, serta observasi implementasi pembelajaran. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kompetensi guru, ditandai dengan 80% guru mencapai nilai post-test ≥70, 50% mampu menghasilkan bahan ajar digital yang layak, dan 50% berhasil mengintegrasikan bahan ajar digital dengan prinsip deep learning dalam pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, program ini terbukti efektif mendorong transformasi pembelajaran menuju model yang lebih partisipatif, bermakna, dan berkualitas.

Abstract

Low science process skills and learning outcomes in digestive system topics stem from non-interactive learning. This study aimed to determine the influence of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Nearpod media on students’ science process skills and learning outcomes in the digestive system topic. A quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design was used, involving two classes and analyzed via MANOVA/ANCOVA. MANOVA revealed significant influence on observation (0.313) and classification (0.716) indicators. The experimental group’s mean score rose from 60.40 to 83.60, outperfoming the control group (74.00). ANCOVA showed significance of 0.020 (p< 0.05). Nearpod assisted Discovery Learning significantly enhances students science process skills and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in swimming behavior of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L) exposed to batik dye industrial wastewater and to identify its effects on fish swimming patterns. The method used was a qualitative approach with experimental observation. The swimming behavior of Nile tilapia was observed in wastewater and control water conditions for 5 minutes, with four repetitions. Water quality parameters, including pH, TDS, TSS, and DO, were also analyzed. The results showed that the wastewater quality did not meet the regulatory standards, with TSS and TDS exceeding the limits and DO below the standard threshold, while pH was within the acceptable range. The swimming patterns of Nile tilapia in wastewater conditions were characterized by higher activity and irregular movements compared to control conditions. In conclusion, batik dye industrial wastewater significantly affects the swimming behavior of Nile tilapia, leading to increased activity and irregular movements. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja elektronik bermuatan literasi sains dan numerasi dengan dukungan teknologi digital. Pengembangan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan pemahaman dalam mempelajari konsep-konsep sains serta terbatasnya media pembelajaran interaktif yang relevan dengan tuntutan Literasi Abad 21. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, perancangan, dan pengembangan produk. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa lembar kerja elektronik interaktif pada berbagai submateri biologi bioteknologi, ekosistem, dan pencemaran air dengan memanfaatkan platform Liveworksheets, Canva, Google Sites serta Virtual Laboratory. Implementasi pembelajaran dirancang dengan pendekatan Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah. Validasi dilakukan oleh para ahli materi, bahasa, media, dan konstruk, disertai uji coba kelompok kecil yang melibatkan peserta didik, guru, dan mahasiswa calon guru di Sumatera Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk lembar kerja elektronik tersebut yang dikembangkan terkategori sangat valid dengan nilai validasi ahli mencapai 92,5% dan sangat praktis dengan tingkat kepraktisan berkisar antara 87,7%–96,35%. Oleh sebab itu diketahui bahwa lembar kerja elektronik bermuatan literasi sains dan numerasi berbantuan teknologi digital yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar biologi yang inovatif dan adaptif. Produk ini berpotensi mendukung penguatan literasi sains, literasi numerasi, dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran Abad 21.
