Abstract

Kualitas air berperan penting dalam kegiatan budidaya perikanan terutama parameter pH dan suhu. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan di SMKN Perikanan Wini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa mengenai parameter pH air dan suhu air. Pengabdian dilaksanakan di SMKN Perikanan Wini pada bulan November 2021 dan diikuti oleh 13 peserta. Pemaparan materi dan pengukuran pH dengan kertas indikator universal merupakan kegiatan inti dari pengabdian ini. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan dengan baik dimana siswa mengikuti kegiatan dengan baik dan lebih mahir mengukur pH air menggunakan kertas indikator universal.

Abstract

This research aims to know: (1) developing a reasonable biological learning module to improve the critical thingking skills of students, and (2) the effectiveness of biological learning module based on android mobile on students’ critical thinking skills. This research referred to the method developed by Richey and Klein. The population of this research was the students of Giovanni Kupang Senior High School. The data collection used product feasibility assessment sheets and critical thinking skills tests. The results show that: (1) a reasonable biological learning module to improve the critical thingking skills of students is biological learning module based on android through Socio-Scientific Issues-Based Learning on the Subject of Coastal Ecosystems. This module developed according to the stage of DDR by Richey & Klein that includes the model development, model validation (internal and external validation), and model use, and (2) the module based on android mobile through socio-scientific issues based-learning is effective to improve critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Materi yang dipelajari dalam mata kuliah Mikrobiologi berhubungan dengan fenomena atau berbagai masalah yang terjadi di lingkungan sekitar, sehingga bukan pengetahuan teori saja yang dipelajari tetapi juga keterampilan proses yang diperoleh melalui kegiatan praktikum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar e-modul praktikum mikrobiologi menggunakan aplikasi kvisoft flipbook maker bagi mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Timor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu research and development (R&D). Tahap validasi desain melibatkan 4 orang subjek yang terdiri dari 2 orang ahli materi dan 2 orang ahli media. Penilaian kelayakan oleh para ahli menggunkan lembar validasi. Tahap uji coba melibatkan 40 orang mahasiswa (kelas kecil 10 orang dan kelas besar 40 orang). Indikator yang diuji terdiri dari tampilan, kepraktisan, dan materi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kelayakan oleh ahli materi sangat baik 91,73% sedangkan kelayakan oleh media baik 84,60%. Indikator uji yang memiliki nilai paling tinggi dari ketiga indikator uji adalah kepraktisan sebesar 85,5% untuk kelas kecil dan 86.7% untuk kelas besar. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi bagi peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Mikrobiologi terutama pada pelaksanaan praktikum yang berdampak pada peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa pada pembelajaran Mikrobiologi.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, Nusa Cendana University, with the aim of knowing the effect of the concentration of the antibacterial extract of Callyspongia biru on the growth of bacteria that caused Ice-ice disease. The method used in this study was an experimental method, with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments (concentration of Callyspongia blue extract of 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%) with 3 times repetition. Therefore, the total treatment units were 12 units. The parameter that has been measured in this study was the diameter of the inhibition zone. The inhibition zone diameter data was then analyzed by using one-way ANOVA with the Tukay method.If Fcount  is greater than Ftable then it would be tested further using Honest Reality Difference test at 5% significant level. The result showed that the different concentrations of Callyspongia blue extract gave significantly different effects on the growth of bacterial isolates from seaweed Eucheuma cottonii with Ice-ice disease. At a concentration of 40%, Callyspongia biru extract showed the strongest average inhibition of 27.67 mm.

Abstract

For this reason, this research aims: 1) To develop Eubacteria practicum E-module in class X SMAN 3 Kefamenanu, 2) To determine the feasibility of Eubacteria practicum E-module in class X SMAN 3 Kefamenanu. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method using 3 important stages consisting of: 1) Preliminary study 2) model development stage, 3) evaluation or testing stage. Data was obtained from material expert validation and media expert validation, then trials to Biology subject teachers and students. Trials to two teachers of Biology subjects as respondents and trials to students consisted of limited trials or groups of 5 students and small group trials of 20 students. The results of this development research are as follows: 1) Eubacteria practicum E-module which was developed into teaching materials that are suitable for use by Biology subject teachers and students of SMAN 3 Kefamenanu, 2) E-modules are declared suitable for use as teaching materials with data obtained from 95.00% material expert validation and 91.57% media expert validation with eligibility criteria declared very suitable for use as teaching materials. Based on validation from material experts and media experts, then the Eubacteria practicum E-module was tested on teachers of Biology subjects and students of SMAN 3 Kefamenanu. The results of the trial of Biology subject teachers on respondent 1 with a percentage of 96.00%, while the percentage of respondent 2 was 92.00%. The results of the trial were limited to 88.40%, while the small group trial was 87.10%. Thus, the results of trials for teachers of Biology subjects and students of grade X SMAN 3 Kefamenanu were declared very suitable for use as teaching materials.

Abstract

The research topic about scientific literacy assessment has become the concern of many scientists recently, including Indonesian researchers. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review about scientific literacy instrument research in Indonesia for the last 24 years. This research used Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) to identify and screen the articles to be reviewed. In the initial stage, as many as 3,926 articles were found in the database of Google Scholar using several related keywords. Using 7 inclusion criteria that have been determined in the screening process, 102 articles were selected to be reviewed by the researchers in this study. It was found that research on scientific literacy instruments in Indonesia has been growing massively in recent years, with the majority of respondents coming from the western part of Indonesia, making students from the central and eastern areas underrepresented. Reflecting on these findings, challenges and opportunities will be discussed in this paper, along with the suggestion for future research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi MySkripsi, sebuah aplikasi baru yang dirancan untuk membantu mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi, Universitas Timor dalam mengatur manajemen waktu bimbingan skripsi. Peneitian ini menggunakan design peneltian R&D (Research and Development), dimana metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and development (R & D) dengan model pengembangan 3D yakni define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), dan develop (Pengembangan). Sebelum melakukan proses perancangan dan pengembangan, terlebih dahulu dilakukan studi awal untuk menganalisa kebutuhan penggunaan aplikasi pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi, Universitas Timor. Pngumpulan data studi awal dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dengan responden 12 orang dosen pembimbing dan 44 orang mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisa, ditemukan bahwa lebih dari 75% responden yang terdiri dari dosen dan mahasiswa mengaku pernah melakukan reschedule (penjadwalan ulang waktu bimbingan) dan lebih dari 90% responden dari dosen pembimbing pernah lupa akan jadwal bimbingan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti kemudian melakukan proses pengembangan aplikasi MySkripsi yang kemudian diujicobakan pada mahasiswa dan dosen di program studi Pendidikan Biologi. Hasil penilaian berupa respon dosen pembimbing menunjukkan bahwa pada indicator kemudahan penggunaan aplikasi diperoleh 94,4% dengan kategori Sangat baik, indikator kejelasan aplikasi presentasi sebesar 83,3% dan masuk dalam kategori Baik, indikator tampilan aplikasi prsentasi diperoleh 72,2% dengan kategori Baik, dan indikator kebermanfaatan aplikasi diperoleh 94,5% dengan kategori Sangat baik. Sedangkan, untuk penilaian respon mahasiswa, diketahui bahwa pada indicator kemudahan penggunaan aplikasi diperoleh 88,9% dengan kategori Sangat baik, indikator kejelasan aplikasi diperoleh 76,7% dan masuk dalam kategori Baik, indikator tampilan aplikasi presentasi diperoleh 83,4% dengan kategori Baik, indikator kebermanfaatan aplikasi diperoleh presentasi 95,3% dengan kategori Sangat baik. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menambahkan berapa fitur bukti bimbingan berupa foto ataupun video.

Abstract

Ketersediaan air bersih yang layak untuk kesehatan manusia sangat erat kaitannya dengan SDGs tujuan ketiga dan keenam. Sekolah dengan ketersediaan air bersih yang layak untuk menjamin kesehatan warganya sangat perlu mendapat perhatian. Air bersih untuk keperluan higiene sanitasi di beberapa sekolah di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara belum pernah diuji kualitasnya sehingga kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas air bersih yang digunakan oleh sekolah dan respon terhadap kegiatan pengabdian. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dibagi menjadi beberapa tahap yaitu kunjungan awal ke sekolah, persiapan pengabdian, pelaksanaan pengabdian dan pembuatan laporan serta penyusunan artikel. Pengujian parameter pH air, suhu air dan TDS menggunakan alat pH meter, termometer dan TDS meter. Respon mitra terkait pelaksanaan pengabdian diketahui melalui penyebaran kuisioner. Hasil pengujian kualitas air dibandingkan dengan baku matu dan hasil kuisioner diolah kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk persentase. Air yang digunakan oleh ketiga sekolah untuk keperluan higiene sanitasi masih memenuhi baku mutu berdasarkan nilai parameter suhu, pH dan TDS. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner pelaksanaan pengabdian, kegiatan pengabdian ini sangat bermanfaat bagi sekolah dimana metode kegiatan yang digunakan sudah tepat serta cara penyampaian materi yang sesuai dibuktikan dengan respon dari kuisioner sebesar 100 %.

Abstract

This study is a systematic literature review (SLR). The purpose of this study is to determine research trends related to the use of augmented reality (AR) in biology learning from 2020 to 2024. The method used is the PRISMA method. The database used for article searches is Google Scholar. The keywords used in the article search are "augmented reality," "biology education," and "biology learning". From the search results, 300 articles were obtained. Then, these articles were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 57 articles being reviewed. The reviewed article is an article that comes from both national and international journals. The findings reveal that the trend of research related to the use of augmented reality in biology learning has experienced a significant increase. The highest number of articles related to augmented reality were published in 2024. The trend of the most commonly used research methods is the quantitative method. Cells, viruses, the human skeletal system, and the human digestive system are the most commonly used topics in developing augmented reality for biology learning. Based on the dependent variables examined in this SLR study, the most investigated variables are students' cognitive learning outcomes, motivation, and critical thinking skills. In terms of data collection instruments, the most commonly used instrument is the test instrument. Through this SLR, we hope that future studies related to augmented reality will continue to develop considering the rapid advancement of technology. For researchers, they can develop AR research using qualitative or mixed methods to obtain more detailed information or develop other research methods such as CAR or DDR, as they are not yet widely encountered.
