Abstract

Personal data of resident is a data that must be stored and protected by the state. Due to the increasing number of data theft, we need to know that there are many things that can be done if an individual controls other people's ID card data, it can be used to deceive or even rob money from other people's bank accounts (Witjaksono, 2018). The way to overcome this problems is to use a cryptographic algorithm as a security for the population data archive system to ensure security in terms of integrity and authentication. This study describes the design, implementation and performance of a web-based population data archive system that utilizes the Grain-128a algorithm to ensure confidentiality and integrity with additional authentication. In addition, Shamir's Secret Sharing is also added as additional security. The tests carried out in this study included testing the performance of the Grain-128a algorithm in terms of keystream generation time, encryption and decryption as well as the performance of the Shamir's Secret Sharing algorithm in splitting and reconstructing data. As for security testing, using sniffing, brute force, birthday attacks and black box checking. The results showed that the keystream and authentication tags generated by the system were in accordance with the test vector. The result of the test is that the average time to generate a keystream is 7.8 microseconds. Meanwhile, the time to perform encryption and decryption using the Grain-128a algorithm is 10.1 microseconds and 8.3 microseconds. The test results with brute force experiments showed good results because from the attack the keystream of the Grain-128a algorithm could not be known. Tests with a birthday attack show that the authentication tag used in the population data archive system is safe because the attacker failed to find 2 tags with the same value. The test results using black box indicate that the population data archive system has been running well and in accordance with system requirements both functionally and non-functionally.

Abstract

Message Queuing Telemetry Transport for Sensor Networks (MQTT-SN) is a publish-subscribe communication protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), which developed to guarantee the needed of publish-subscribe protocol which can be applied for sensor networks which doesn't have network interface. However, MQTT-SN has a weakness because by default MQTT-SN sends plaintext in transmission process, it proves that MQTT-SN don't guarantee security aspect of confidentiality. Security mechanism is needed to ensure confidentiality of MQTT-SN especially in its use as a communication protocol in healthcare system, because in health sector data confidentiality is important. Security mechanism to ensure MQTT-SN confidentiality has been conducted using Advanced Encryption Standard 128 (AES128), which is a conventional cryptographic algorithm with high computational process which not appropriate with WSN characteristics, in addition computational defects has been found in all types of AES, so an alternative algorithm is needed to replace AES. This research provides an alternative solution by applying end-to-end security mechanisms for publishers and subscribers using lightweight stream cipher Grain-128 on prototype electrocardiogram monitoring system based on MQTT-SN. The results showed that, this security mechanism successfully secured electrocardiogram data transmitted on MQTT-SN protocol from confidentiality. Grain-128 performs better than AES128 based on encryption time and memory usage.

Abstract

MAVLink stands for Micro Air Vehicle Link which is an unmanned system lightweight message serialization protocol. This protocol is commonly used in autopilot systems, especially ArduPilot and PX4 and provides advanced features not only for monitoring and controlling the mission of unmanned systems but also for integration into the Internet. Since the MAVLink protocol is carried over wireless channels, this makes it vulnerable. against attack-based and also the lack of support in terms of security procedures both in secrecy and the authentication mechanism is not supported natively. This causes the MAVLink protocol to be easily hacked. Therefore, to reduce the security risk, it is necessary to secure the communication protocol between the UAV to the GCS by using the SIMECK algorithm. SIMECK algorithm is a combination of encryption and decryption algorithm between SIMON algorithm and SPECK algorithm. Users can use the SIMECK cipher by considering the software and hardware needed without disturbing the performance of the security system. The purpose of the SIMECK algorithm is to provide security in data transmission and also performance flexibility to be used for developers. The implementation of the SIMECK algorithm on this system makes it resistant to passive attacks and even active attacks.

Abstract

Micro Air Vehicle Link or commonly called MAVLink is a communication protocol for UAVs. A document, namely ISO 12100 and ISO 13849 summarized by (Allouch, et al., 2019) states that the MAVLink protocol is a UAV communication protocol that is vulnerable to attacks. The MAVLink protocol vulnerability is known because it does not have a security system support from the confidentiality aspect. To reduce this security risk, it is necessary to make efforts to secure the MAVLink protocol using cryptographic methods to ensure the security of the aspects mentioned above. In this study the Grain-128 cryptographic algorithm was chosen because of its ability to work on low-power devices. In addition to the implementation of the Grain-128 cryptographic algorithm, a security strategy is also implemented, one of which is the IV update system. The purpose of implementing the Grain-128 algorithm and its security strategy is to provide adequate protection for data on the MAVLink protocol. Thus the MAVLink protocol that has been implemented by the security system is resistant to passive attacks and even active attacks.

Abstract

Ambulan Online is a mobile-based application for tracking the location of the ambulance which is expected to increase response time by getting the nearest ambulance position. In the process of using it, there is data transmission from the application to the server. The data is sent in plain text which is a weakness for patient data security. Even though there are regulations regarding the confidentiality of medical records which are regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 269 of 2008 concerning Medical Records. Based on this, the author will implement the Grain Algorithm and SHA-3 as encryption on patient data, location data and patient information. After that, conduct testing using a test vector to ensure the Grain Algorithm and SHA-3 used matching with the creator's property. To test the travel time of data on the entire system, researcher using data processing test by input 30 times data in that experiment. In this test, the average data processing time from the time the application user delivers the patient to the patient data entry is 5.6 seconds. Third is integrity test are carried out by checking the results of hashing data on SHA-3. Finally, researcher testing the key generation scheme to ensure key generation can function properly. The conclusion is that there is a difference in travel time after the Grain and SHA-3 Algorithm is implemented, but the patient data integrity aspect is met with the results of the integrity testing that has been carried out.
