Abstract

This research based on the problem of the learning process of the Engineering Mechanics course. The teacher center learning process causes students to be passive so that students feel bored because of one way communication. Based on data student learning outcomes, it is still not well achieved, therefore it is necessary to apply the numbered heads together learning model to improve learning motivation and learning outcomes. This type of reseach is a factorial 2x2. The subjects of this study were 48 students. The sampling technique is carried out random cluster sampling. Data collection by dissemination of learning motivation questionnaires and learning outcome test instruments and analyzed using two ways anova. Based on the results of data testing, it can be concluded that the Numbered heads together learning model can improve student motivation and learning outcomes. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi permasalahan proses pembelajaran mata kuliah Mekanika Teknik. Proses pembelajaran yang terpusat pada dosen menyebabkan mahasiswa menjadi pasif sehingga mahasiswa merasa bosan karena komunikasi satu arah. Berdasarkan data hasil belajar mahasiswa masih belum tercapai dengan baik, maka dari itu perlu dilakukan penerapan model pembelajaran numbered heads together dalam peningkatan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar. Jenis penelitian ini eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Subjek penelitian ini mahasiswa yang berjumlah 48 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan random cluster sampling. Pengumpulan data dengan penyebaran angket motivasi belajar dan Instrumen tes hasil belajar dan dianalisa dengan two ways anova. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian data dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran numbered heads together dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar mahasiswa.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media for lighting systems in the form of lighting simulator to support learning in electrical maintenance training subjects. This research was conducted at the Motorcycle Engineering Department of SMKN 1 Pancung Soal. The main focus of this research is to assess the feasibility of learning media which is a lighting system simulator. It is a Research and Development, adopting the Four-D models introduced by Thiagarajan. The steps taken include define (defining or analysing problems to formulating development objectives), design (designing the media to be produced), develop (development is carried out after going through expert and user trials), and disseminate (dissemination which is introducing the media in training). The results of this research are in the form of learning media, supporting learning electrical maintenance training courses. The results of the feasibility testing on this lighting simulator in terms of media aspects scored 88% with the category ‘Very Decent’ and in the material aspect scored 84% with the category ‘Very Decent’. For the feasibility level, practitioners or users scored 89% which falls in the ‘Very Decent’ category. Based on the data from the feasibility test results conducted by experts, it can be concluded that this lighting system simulator is very feasible and can be used as a medium to support the implementation of the practicum of electrical maintenance training courses.

Abstract

Administrasi kependudukan merupakan rangkaian kegiatan dalam penataan dan penertiban dokumen data penduduk melalui pendaftaran penduduk, pencatatan sipil, pengelolaan informasi administrasi kependudukan serta pendayagunaan hasilnya untuk pelayanan publik. Teknologi informasi pada saat ini berkembang sangat cepat dimana setiap bidang telah banyak menerapkan kecanggihan teknologi informasi yang berbasis online dalam penyampaian informasi, terutama dalam bidang pelayanan (service) yang menyangkut pengelolaan informasi dan sumber daya manusia. Dalam bidang pelayanan administrasi, teknologi informasi berperan sangat penting untuk pengolahan data informasi yang berkaitan dengan administrasi dan pengarsipan. suatu aplikasi sistem informasi dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan efektifitas dan efisiensi pelayanan penduduk di Nagari Sago Salido dalam bentuk Sistem Informasi Pelayanan Administrasi (SIPA) dengan memanfaatkan teknologi internet. Luaran yang ditargetkan adalah peningkatan pelayanan administrasi di Kantor Wali Nagari Sago Salido melalui pembuatan aplikasi Sistem Informasi Pelayanan Administrasi (SIPA) ini.

Abstract

Kenagarian Koto Tinggi, Kecamatan Baso, Kabupaten Agam, dikenal sebagai daerah penghasil ubi jalar berkualitas tinggi. Namun, petani di wilayah ini menghadapi tantangan besar akibat proses pencucian ubi jalar yang masih dilakukan secara manual. Metode ini menghabiskan banyak waktu dan tenaga serta kurang efisien, yang berpotensi menurunkan nilai jual produk. Dalam upaya mengatasi masalah ini, pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas pencucian ubi jalar melalui penerapan teknologi mesin pencuci. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah tercipta sebuah mesin pencuci ubi jalar dengan kapasitas 300 kg/jam. Dengan menggunakan mesin pencuci ubi model rotary ini, mitra dapat meningkatkan produktivitasnya dan mengurangi beban kerja fisik. Mesin ini bekerja dengan prinsip putaran drum yang dilengkapi sikat pembersih, memungkinkan ubi bersentuhan dengan alat pembersih saat berputar, sehingga kotoran dan tanah dapat dihilangkan secara efektif. Setelah serah terima mesin dan pelatihan penggunaan kepada mitra pada 8 September 2024, hasilnya mulai terlihat. Dengan penerapan teknologi ini, nilai jual ubi jalar mengalami peningkatan dari Rp 4.500/kg menjadi Rp 5.500/kg. Keberhasilan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pendapatan petani tetapi juga membuka peluang untuk diversifikasi produk, menjadikan kegiatan ini bermanfaat bagi masyarakat di Nagari Koto Tinggi.

Abstract

Kanagarian Kambang Utara dilanda banjir bandang dan hampir semua sepeda motor terendam banjir sehingga mesin mati dan tidak dapat digunakan. Akibatnya aktifitas masyarakat terhenti total dan transportasi yang biasa dipergunakan selain untuk keperluan sehari-hari juga dipergunakan untuk pergi ke ladang. Ini berdampak turunya pendapatan ekonomi masyarakat karena terputusnya transportasi yang biasa digunakan oleh petani. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut tim PKM UNP Kampus Pesisir Selatan yang tergabung dari Dosen, teknisi beserta mahasiswa menyelenggarakan kegiatan sosial rehabilitasi pasca bencana korban banjir bandang melalui pelayanan planned maintenance pada sepeda motor masyarakat yang teredam banjir bandang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu memulihkan semua kendaraan sepeda motor agar dapat hidup dan bisa dipergunakan kembali ke ladang mereka. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari pelaksanaan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat hasilnya semua sepeda motor yang teredam banjir dan lumpur baik model motor metik dan model motor bergigi setelah dilakukan pemeliharaan dan perbaikan semua kendaraan tersebut bisa hidup dan beroperasi kembali.

Abstract

Flat-hull ships are known to have higher resistance than streamlined hulls. Although the Hull Vane® concept has been proven effective as a stern-mounted energy-saving device through pressure-field modification and stern-wave interaction, most previous studies have focused on straight-foil configurations (straight planform). The effect of planform shape optimization, particularly the sweptback configuration, on the hydrodynamic performance of flat-hull ships is limited in the literature. This study modifies the geometry of a Hull Vane® into a sweptback stern foil and evaluates its performance using Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations. The results show that a 15° sweptback angle yields the greatest reduction in total drag. Velocity contour analysis shows a narrower wake and a more uniform velocity-gradient distribution in the stern area for the 15° swept-back stern-foil configuration compared to other configurations. Meanwhile, the turbulence length distribution shows a tendency toward reduced intensity of large-scale turbulent structures behind the ship, indicating improved wake-flow characteristics. The identified drag reduction mechanism primarily stems from improved pressure recovery and modified pressure distribution in the stern area, which is consistent with the working principle of Hull Vane®. Optimizing the sweptback planform geometry yields more efficient flow interaction than the straight-foil configuration. These findings indicate that planform optimization is an important design parameter in the development of stern foils to improve the hydrodynamic efficiency of medium-to high-speed commercial vessels.

Abstract

Welding is one of the essential competencies that students in the Welding and Metal Fabrication Engineering Expertise Program must possess. However, the practical learning process still faces limitations in equipment facilities, both in terms of quantity and usability, requiring students to take turns using the equipment and making practice time less effective. This condition has the potential to affect students’ welding skill outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of practical equipment facilities on the welding skill outcomes of Grade XI students in the Welding and Metal Fabrication Engineering Department at SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The research population included all Grade XI students in the Welding and Metal Fabrication Engineering Department of SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh, totaling 55 students. The sample was determined using the total sampling technique, so the entire population was used as the research sample. Data were collected through a questionnaire to measure practical equipment facilities and an assessment rubric to measure students’ welding skills. Data analysis included prerequisite analysis tests, namely normality, linearity, and homoscedasticity tests, as well as hypothesis testing using simple linear regression, the t-test, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that practical equipment facilities do not have a significant effect on students’ welding skill outcomes, with a significance value of 0.318 > 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.019 indicates that practical equipment facilities can explain only 1.9% of the variation in students’ welding skill outcomes, while 98.1% is influenced by other factors outside this study. In addition, the direction of the relationship obtained is negative and not significant, with a regression coefficient value of -0.187. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that practical equipment facilities are not the main factor determining students’ welding skills; rather, other factors play a greater role, such as interest, motivation, theoretical understanding, and the learning process. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of a more comprehensive evaluation of practical learning by considering students’ internal factors and the quality of the vocational learning process.

Abstract

Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have been widely used in learning innovation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using AI chatboxes integrated with case method on the science learning outcomes of basic education students. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design, which allows to compare learning outcomes in both sample classes. Data collection was carried out through pretest and posttest tests to measure the improvement of learning outcomes, and analysis of research data using SPSS 22. The population used was basic education students at Padang State University. The results showed that the use of AI chatbox integrated case method was quite effective in improving science learning outcomes with the acquisition of n-gain in the experimental class of 0.62 with a moderate category. The results of hypothesis test analysis show the Sig value. 0.004 <0.05 so that Ha is accepted. These results prove that the use of AI chatboxes integrated with the case method is effective in improving the science learning outcomes of basic education students. This research shows that the innovative use of AI technology in learning can have a positive impact on student academic achievement, especially in the field of basic education.
