Abstract

This research was aimed to 1) develop a Science Learning LKPD based on Discovery Learning on subject materials Work and Simple Machine in Daily Life for VIII Middle School Students; 2) find out the feasibility of Discovery Learning based LKPD on subject materials Work and Simple Machine in daily life for VIII grade junior high school students; and 3) knowing students responses to the development of Discovery Learning-based LKPD on subject materials Work and Simple Machine in daily life for VIII grade junior high school students. This research includes development research (design research) with a 4-D development model. Data collection techniques used assessment instruments by material experts, media experts, peer reviewers, science teachers, and grade VIII students in junior high schools. The data analysis technique uses the quality analysis of LKPD. Based on the assessment of expert lecturers, peer reviewers, and science teachers, the average score of 4.31 was obtained with a percentage of 86.43% stating that the quality of the LKPD was very good (VG). The results of students' responses obtained an average score of 4.31 with a percentage score of 86.43% stating that the quality of the LKPD IPA Very Good (VG). It can be concluded that the developed Natural Sciences LKPD is suitable for use in learning science in schools.

Abstract

Local wisdom-oriented learning invites students to gain direct learning experience with natural situations. This study aims to describe how to develop LKPD based on local wisdom that is appropriate to be used to improve the critical thinking skills of eighth grade junior high school students. This research includes development research using 4-D development models namely Define, Design, Develop and Dessiminate. The LKPD research instrument was in the form of a questionnaire that included several aspects of assessment. The LKPD validation was carried out by media experts, material experts, peer reviewers, science teachers and grade VIII students. The results of this study indicate that the local wisdom-based science worksheet developed with the 4-D model to improve critical thinking skills of junior high school students in grade VIII is declared feasible or valid based on the validator's assessment. Assessment of media experts with a percentage of ideals of 80%, according to expert material 86.08%, percentage of ideals according to peer reviewers 92.06%, science teachers of SMP 5 Banguntapan 80%, teachers of SMP 2 Godean 88.75%, while according to students of SMP 5 Banguntapan was 82.28%, while the students of Godean 2 Junior High were 81.90%. Based on the assessment of the science-based LKPD of local wisdom in order to improve the critical thinking skills of eighth grade junior high school students who are deemed fit for use in science learning

Abstract

This study aims for knowing process developing students worksheet based on value clarification which is decent used to improve character of Junior High School grade VIII students. The study type was research and development (R&D) of 4D (Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate) model which is restricted untill develop stage. The techniques of collecting data used observatins, questionnaires, and interviews. Quality value data obtained then analyzed used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis based on ideal assesment. The students worksheet meet the criteria aspects of suitability of the goal, content eligibility, completeness of the material, presentation of material, student worksheet based on value clarification components, suitability of activities, clarity of instructions, language and sentence eligibility, text clarity and layout quality. Based on expert judgment is known that worksheet student which was developed had very good quality with ideal percentage by media expert 91%, percentage assesment by material epert 87,78%, percentage assesment by peer reviewer 95,16%, percentage assesment by natural science teacher 83,03% and percentage respon by students 86,48%. Based on that assesment, student worksheet based on value clarification for Junior High School grade VIII students is suitable for use in natural science learning.

Abstract

Science learning is related to life and phenomena that occur in the surrounding environment. The learning process will be more meaningful if science is associated with the culture that develops around the community environment and can also be called using an ethnoscience approach. However, science learning in general still does not integrate the culture of both the school environment and the environment of the students. This culture can be learned by learners starting from daily activities such as in the process of making food products, one of which is in the fermentation process in the manufacture of tempeh. This study aims to identify ethnoscience in the fermentation process that can be implemented in learning. Research method used in the form of literature review method. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and analysis of articles or journals. Data analysis techniques are carried out by analyzing the results of observations, interviews, and scientific articles. The results of this literature study prove that ethnoscience-based science learning is important to be implemented in order to foster the critical thinking skills of learners.

Abstract

The gap in student-centered assessments in practice in English Language Teaching (ELT) poses a challenge in the application of 21st-century skills and Indonesia’s Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (Freedom to Learn-Independent Campus) policy, which emphasize innovation and student-centeredness. The practice of ELT, however, continues to be product-oriented and lacks the development of metacognition. Although the development of digital portfolios is considered a resource promising, research in the Indonesian ELT context examining the micro-level implementation and influences of digital portfolios is limited. This study investigated the implementation of a digital portfolio in an Indonesian university’s English Education Department. It aimed to analyze: 1) student and lecturer perceptions of its role in academic writing and metacognitive awareness; 2) evidence of metacognitive development (planning, monitoring, evaluating) in portfolio artifacts; and 3) the challenges in its execution as an assessment tool. A qualitative single-case study design was employed. Data were collected over one semester through semi-structured interviews with 16 students and one lecturer, non-participant observation, and document analysis of the students’ digital portfolios (Padlet), which were assessed using a reflective writing rubric. The portfolios showed contradictory results that they provided opportunities for some students to exert control and experience advancement, whereas, for others, they provided too much of a cognitive load due to the lack of clarity within reflection tasks and the technical difficulties involved. Cognitive overload and technical difficulties along with unclear reflection tasks overshadowed the self-assessment opportunities in the portfolios. The challenges involved a lack of lecturer recognition regarding the potential for unsustainable workloads, the digital gap, inflexible academic calendars, and the subjectivity of assessing a learner’s metacognition. The catalyst emerged through the lecturer’s strategic sequencing which clarified the purpose of the portfolio thereby operationalizing self-regulated learning within the framework of problem-oriented learning.

Abstract

Abstrak: Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan digital marketing kelompok rajut di Desa Wukirsari, Kecamatan Imogiri, Kabupaten Bantul, Yogyakarta. Kemampuan digital marketing sangat penting membantu menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas serta memperkuat hubungan dengan pelanggan. Kegiatan pemberdayaan bagi kelompok rajut diperlukan untuk memaksimalkan potensi bisnis dan meningkatkan inovasi di era digital. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan para perajut ditemukan bahwa perkembangan usaha rajut mengalami kendala dalam promosi dan pemasaran sehingga penjualan tidak sesuai target. Belum ada upaya mitra untuk melakukan pemasaran online dalam bentuk digital marketing karena terbatasnya pengetahuan tentang cara mengelola usaha rajut dan pemasaran secara online. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut adalah peningkatan kapasitas mitra mengenai digital marketing untuk optimalisasi pemasaran secara online; dan edukasi pemanfaatan teknologi untuk promosi melalui, sosial media. Mitra pada kegiatan ini adalah Ibu-ibu kelompok rajut berjumlah 15 orang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa (1) sosialisasi; (2) pelatihan; (3) praktik; dan (4) pendampingan. Keberhasilan kegiatan diukur melalui ketercapaian pelaksanaan kegiatan dan kompetensi peserta mengenai digital marketing di akhir kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu meningkatnya pengetahuan peserta dalam digital marketing, dibuktikan dengan peningkatan jumlah penjualan produk sebesar 80% melalui media online.Abstract: This community service initiative aims to enhance the digital marketing capabilities of a knitting group in Wukirsari Village, Imogiri Subdistrict, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. Proficiency in digital marketing is crucial in reaching a broader market and strengthening customer relationships. Empowering knitting groups is essential to maximize business potential and foster innovation in the digital era. Based on interviews with the knitters, it was found that the knitting business faced challenges in promotion and marketing, resulting in sales falling short of targets. There were no efforts by the partners to engage in online marketing through digital channels due to limited knowledge of managing knitting businesses and online marketing strategies. The solution to these issues involves enhancing the partners' capacity in digital marketing for online marketing optimization and educating them on utilizing technology for promotion through social media. The partners in this initiative are 15 women in the knitting group. The implementation methods include (1) socialization; (2) training; (3) practical exercises; and (4) mentoring. The success of the initiative is measured by the achievement of activity implementation and participants' competence in digital marketing at the end of the initiative. The results of this initiative include an increased knowledge of participants in digital marketing, evidenced by an 80% increase in product sales through online media.

Abstract

Digital competency is a challenge and necessity for educators in the 21st century, especially in vocational schools. This study aims to bridge the gap by comprehensive review of digital media as a component of digital competency for teachers in Vocational Education and Training (VET). Data were collected from the Scopus, Research Gate, and Scholar databases based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study employs content analysis on 11 articles published in international journals indexed by Scopus between 2018 and 2024. The stages carried out include formulating material based on research questions, selecting relevant journal articles, analyzing main topics, interpreting data, identifying categories to develop digital skills, reporting findings, drawing conclusions, and suggesting further research. The findings show several technologies to develop educators' digital competence, such as blogs, websites, mobile smartphones, video conferencing, digital content and new digital devices. Project-based learning as an alternative instructional model for developing digital competencies using digital media. Digital media influences digital competence and its domain. Future studies could carry out empirical investigations based on this finding to further enhance digital competence among VET teachers.

Abstract

The environment is the largest natural laboratory in science learning. However, unfortunately, this potential has not been utilized properly. Most science learning is often carried out in the classroom. Therefore, through community service, it is expected to help the difficulties of teachers in planning and implementing outdoor learning in science learning in accordance with the standards of the educational process. This service was carried out for 8 months using the lesson study model through three stages, namely plan (plan), do (implement) and see (reflect) carried out by elementary teachers. The results of dedication show that lesson studies conducted in both elementary schools can provide good service for elementary school teachers in preparing lesson plans and can improve the ability of elementary school teachers in preparing RPP based on outdoor learning processes so that teachers can carry out learning with a new, pleasant, challenging atmosphere and teach.

Abstract

Very rapid technological developments can have positive and negative impacts on society. One negative effect that needs to be watched out is cyberbullying. This community service is carried out online targeting teenagers, educators, and parents. This service aims to provide insight related to cyberbullying, parenting, and the importance of technological literacy in assisting adolescent development so that it can prevent cyberbullying. The method of implementing this service is discussion, practice, and question and answer. Online community service by way of Whatsapp lectures was attended by 95 people. The results of the dedication showed that the participants seemed enthusiastic in attending Whatsapp lectures with this theme. Cyberbullying and media literacy become new insights for participants. Curiosity towards the implementation of the teachings of Ki Hajar Dewantara is increasing. Parents and educators should be able to attend training regularly so that they can optimally assist and develop the potential of children, especially adolescents, so they avoid cyberbullying.
