Abstract

Abstract This study aims to improve the quality of learning to read the Qur’an for children at TPA AR-Rasyid through the application of the Iqro method. The Iqro method is an approach to learning to read the Qur’an that emphasizes conformity to the rules of tajwid and the use of songs and distinctive rhythms. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Iqro method at TPA Ar-Rasyid can improve students’ ability to read the Qur’an and foster their enthusiasm in studying the Qur’an. The Iqro method has proven effective in creating a generation of fluent Qur’an readers who are committed to the teachings of Islam

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought about major changes in the communication patterns and information consumption of society, including in the religious aspect. Social media is now one of the main channels for the younger generation, especially students, to obtain inspiration and religious content that was previously only accessible through conventional media. This study aims to explore the effect of religious content consumption on social media on the psychological well-being of students at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palangkaraya. This study used a mixed method approach with the participation of 30 students aged 18–24 years who were selected randomly. Data were collected through closed questionnaires and open-ended questions to explore the patterns of religious content consumption and its impact on students' psychological conditions. The results showed that consuming religious content through platforms such as TikTok and Instagram has a positive effect on students' psychological well-being. Respondents admitted to feeling calmer inwardly, more grateful, motivated to behave positively, and find meaning in life after accessing religious content such as lectures, inspirational stories, prayers, and dhikr. These findings provide important implications for educational institutions and religious content developers to utilize social media as a means of supporting mental health and spiritual growth of students strategically.

Abstract

Positive thinking plays a very important role in a person's self-confidence in their abilities. In this case, the positive mindset of PAI students is very important in determining the level of self-confidence of an individual. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of positive mindset in shaping the self-confidence of students in the Islamic Education Study Program (PAI) class of 2022 at IAIN Palangka Raya. When facing academic, social, and personal pressures, many students experience a crisis of self-confidence. A positive mindset is believed to foster optimistic, resilient, and confident attitudes in facing challenges. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The results show that PAI students with a positive mindset can increase self-confidence, improve self-perception, reduce fear of failure, and provide stronger motivation for themselves. These findings reinforce the importance of mental coaching through positive thinking in supporting student character development.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji tentang Self-Efficacy sebagai upaya preventif terhadap kecemasan belajar siswa di SMA NU Palangka Raya. Self-Efficacy, yang dikembangkan oleh Albert Bandura, merujuk pada keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuan diri dalam menghadapi tantangan, termasuk dalam konteks akademik. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan wawancara terhadap wali kelas, guru bimbingan dan konseling, serta tiga orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun sebagian besar siswa memiliki tingkat Self-Efficacy yang tergolong sedang, kecemasan belajar masih menjadi tantangan signifikan. Gejala kecemasan yang diidentifikasi, seperti kesulitan berkonsentrasi, rasa takut gagal, dan ketidakpastian terhadap kemampuan diri, dapat menghambat proses belajar dan prestasi akademik siswa. Dalam upaya mengatasi permasalahan ini, artikel ini merekomendasikan berbagai strategi penguatan Self-Efficacy, termasuk pendekatan personal yang dilakukan oleh wali kelas dan konseling yang dilakukan oleh guru bimbingan. Melalui strategi ini, siswa diharapkan dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri mereka, mengelola kecemasan, dan pada akhirnya mendukung keberhasilan akademik mereka. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih holistik, dengan memperhatikan aspek mental dan emosional siswa dalam proses pendidikan.

Abstract

Academic stress is a psychological condition commonly experienced by high school students in response to demanding academic expectations. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social support and academic stress among students at SMA Nurul Ihsan in Palangka Raya. Utilizing a quantitative correlational approach, data were collected from 20 students using a four-point Likert scale questionnaire covering variables of social support and academic stress. Descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average score for social support was 30.25, while the average score for academic stress was 24.80. Pearson correlation analysis indicated a moderate negative relationship (r = -0.425; p < 0.05), suggesting that higher levels of perceived social support are associated with lower levels of academic stress. Peer support was identified as the primary source of social support, whereas support from family and teachers was found to be less optimal. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening effective and responsive social support systems to promote students’ psychological well-being in facing academic pressure.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Self-Determination in improving students' learning persistence in the digital era. Self-Determination Theory explains that long-lasting learning motivation arises from within the individual, which is influenced by the fulfillment of three basic psychological needs: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Amidst the challenges of the digital era, such as social media distractions, students are required to have internal motivation to remain diligent in learning. Through a qualitative approach, the researcher interviewed five students in depth. The results showed that students were able to maintain learning persistence because of personal goals, parental support, and previous academic success experiences. The three aspects of Self-Determination have been shown to play an important role in shaping students' learning persistence despite facing digital disruptions. This study shows the importance of strengthening internal motivation to support learning success in the digital era.
