Abstract

Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) aquaculture faces challenges due to environmental stress, which affects growth and survival. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of probiotic supplementation on the cumulative stress index (CSI) and growth performance of vaname shrimp cultured under zero salinity conditions. A completely randomized design was employed with four treatments, each replicated three times: Treatment A (Commercial Feed (Control)); Treatment B (Commercial Feed + Probiotic 10 ml/kg); Treatment C (Commercial Feed + Probiotic 20 ml/kg); and Treatment D (Commercial Feed + Probiotic 30 ml/kg). CSI and absolute weight growth were observed after 10 days of cultivation. Water quality parameters were monitored throughout the study. The results indicated that Treatment B (10 ml/kg probiotics) yielded the lowest CSI value (30), reflecting the highest stress tolerance, followed by Treatment C (39), Treatment D (68), and the control group (85). Furthermore, Treatment B produced the highest absolute weight growth (38.6 grams), significantly outperforming other treatments. Statistical analysis showed a significant effect of probiotic supplementation on growth performance (p < 0.05) but no significant effect on survival rate (p > 0.05). Probiotic supplementation was proven effective in reducing stress and improving digestive efficiency in shrimp, thereby supporting better growth. These findings highlight the potential of probiotics, particularly at a dose of 10 ml/kg, as a sustainable approach to enhancing shrimp aquaculture performance under challenging environmental conditions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari penggunaan tepung cacing tanah (TCT) (Lumbricus rubellus) sebagai additive dalam pakan terhadap performans (pertambahan berat badan (PBB), konsumsi, konversi pakan, persentase karkas, dan persentase lemak abdominal) dan income over feed cost (IOFC) ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah ayam Broiler umur 1 hari (DOC/Day Old Chicken) strain Cobb 500 sebanyak 80 ekor dan dipelhara selama 30 hari. Perlakuan pakan yang diberikan pada penelitian ini antara lain P0 : tanpa additive TCT; P1 : additive 0,5% TCT; P2 : additive 1% TCT; P3 : additive 1,5% TCT; P4 : additive 2% TCT. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola searah dengan 5 (lima) perlakuan 4 (empat) kali ulangan, dimana setiap ulangan berisi 4 (empat) ekor ayam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intake TCT dalam pakan basal tidak memperlihatlan perbedaan yang nyata (p > 0,05) terhadap performan dan peningkatan IOFC ayam broiler pada penelitian ini.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian daphnia sp yang diperkaya dengan asam amino terhadap pertumbuhan dan sintasan larva ikan nila. Penelitian ini bertempat di Laboratorium Nutrisi Program Studi Budidaya Perairan Universitas Bosowa Makassar. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 9 unit percobaan. Parameter uji pada penelitian ini pertumbuhan dan sintasan larva ikan nila. Adapun parameter kualitas air yang diamati yaitu suhu dan pH. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pemberian Daphnia sp yang diperkaya asam amino dengan dosis yang berbeda pada larva ikan Nila memberikan pengaruh yang baik pada nilai pertumbuhan dan sintasan. Dosis Daphnia sp yang diperkaya asam amino dengan dosis 5 mg/L memberikan pengaruh yang baik pertumbuhan dan sintasan larva ikan Nila. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Daphnia sp enriched with amino acids on the growth and survival of tilapia larvae. This study took place at the Nutrition Laboratory of the Aquaculture Study Program, Bosowa University, Makassar. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments with 3 replications so that there were 9 experimental units. The test parameters in this study were the growth and survival of tilapia larvae. The water quality parameters observed were temperature and pH. The results of the study concluded that giving Daphnia sp enriched with amino acids with different doses to tilapia larvae had a good effect on growth and survival values. The dose of Daphnia sp enriched with amino acids with a dose of 5 mg/L had a good effect on the growth and survival of tilapia larvae.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh perendaman ekstrak daun nipah (nypa fruticans) terhadap hematologi ikan nila yang di infeksi bakteri Aeromonas hydrophylla. Penelitian ini bertempat di Hatchery Fakultas Ilmu Kelautan dan Perikanan Universitas Hasanuddin. Instalasi Tambak Marana, Kabupaten maros. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Sedangkan perlakuan yang akan diterapkan pada penelitian ini yaitu Perlakuan A: Perendaman ekstrak daun nipah dengan dosis 200 ppm, Perlakuan B: Perendaman ekstrak daun nipah dengan dosis 400 ppm, Perlakuan C: Perendaman ekstrak daun nipah dengan dosis 600 ppm dan Perlakuan D: Perendaman ekstrak daun nipah dengan dosis 800 ppm. Parameter uji pada penelitian ini yakni jumlah eritrosit dan leukosit. Adapun parameter kualitas air yang diamati yaitu suhu dan pH. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pada perlakuan B dengan Dosis 400 ppm menunjukkan hasil yang optimal, meningkatkan jumlah eritrosit dalam kisaran normal, sedangkan leukosit menunjukkan respons imun yang baik dalam melawan infeksi. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of soaking in nipah leaf extract (nypa fruticans) on the hematology of tilapia infected with Aeromonas hydrophylla bacteria. This study took place at the Hatchery of the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University. Marana Pond Installation, Maros Regency. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments with 3 replications. While the treatments that will be applied in this study are Treatment A: Soaking in nipah leaf extract with a dose of 200 ppm, Treatment B: Soaking in nipah leaf extract with a dose of 400 ppm, Treatment C: Soaking in nipah leaf extract with a dose of 600 ppm and Treatment D: Soaking in nipah leaf extract with a dose of 800 ppm. The test parameters in this study were the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes. The water quality parameters observed were temperature and pH. The results of the study concluded that treatment B with a dose of 400 ppm showed optimal results, increasing the number of erythrocytes in the normal range, while leukocytes showed a good immune response in fighting infection.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi Indonesia dalam produksi garam adalah kualitas (NaCl) yang dihasilkan tidak memenuhi Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI). Hal ini disebabkan oleh teknologi produksi yang digunakan dan lokasi atau area produksi yang tidak tepat. Penyebab utama terjadinya pengotor dari kristal NaCl atau kualitas garam yang rendah, adalah terjadinya ko- presipitasi pengotor garam seperti magnesium dan kalsium yang mengkristal secara bersamaan dengan NaCl (Marihati et al., 2014). Kopresipitasi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Halofilik memberi nutrisi pada Luria Bertani pada pemurnian NaCl. Tambak garam sendiri berpotensi meningkatkan pendapatan petani garam melalui pengembangan budidaya Artemia secara massal. The main problem faced by Indonesia in salt production is that the quality (NaCl) produced does not meet the Indonesian National Standards (SNI). This is caused by the production technology used and inappropriate production locations or areas (Kurniawan et al., 2019). The main cause of impurities from NaCl crystals or low salt quality is the co-precipitation of salt impurities such as magnesium and calcium which crystallize simultaneously with NaCl (Marihati et al., 2014). Coprecipitation caused by Halophilic bacteria provides nutrition to Luria Bertani in NaCl purification. Salt ponds themselves have the potential to increase the income of salt farmers through the development of mass Artemia cultivation.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis parameter kualitas air media pemeliharaan benih ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus) yang diberi pakan berbahan baku tepung keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata) diantaranya suhu, pH, DO, NH3, NO2, dan H2S. Penelitian ini bertempat di Laboratorium Program Studi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Bosowa yang dilaksanakan selama 5 minggu yaitu pada bulan April sampai Juni 2023. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen menggunakan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan keong mas dengan dosis perlakuan A (70%), perlakuan B (65%), perlakuan C (60%), dan perlakuan D (0%). Frekuensi pemberikan pakan dilakukan sebanyak dua kali sehari dengan dosis 5% dari bobot tubuh hewan uji. Parameter uji yang diamati yaitu suhu, pH, DO, amonia (NH3), nitrit (NO2), dan hidrogen sulfida (H2S). Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi pakan tepung keong mas dengan berbagai dosis berbeda memberikan pengaruh (p<0.05) terhadap kadar amonia (NH3) diawal dan diakhir penelitian. Kadar amonia (NH3) pada perlakuan D (0%) diakhir penelitian telah melebihi baku mutu air untuk kegiatan perikanan kelas III (0,02 mg/L). Sedangkan konsentrasi pakan tepung keong mas dengan berbagai dosis berbeda tidak memberikan pengaruh (p<0.05) terhadap kadar nitrit (NO2) dan kadar H2S diawal dan diakhir penelitian. Kadar nitrit pada semua perlakuan telah melebihi baku mutu air untuk kegiatan perikanan kelas III (0,06 mg/L) dan kadar H2S pada semua perlakuan masih berada dibawah batas ambang baku mutu air (0,05 mg/L). The purpose of this study was to analyze the water quality parameters of the rearing medium for Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) seeds which were fed feed made from golden snail flour (Pomacea canaliculata) including temperature, pH, DO, NH3, NO2, and H2S. This research took place at the Laboratory of the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Bosowa University, which was carried out for 5 weeks, from April to June 2023. This research was an experimental study using four treatments and three replications. The treatment given by golden snail was with treatment dose A (70%), treatment B (65%), treatment C (60%), and treatment D (0%). The frequency of feeding was carried out twice a day at a dose of 5% of the body weight of the test animals. The test parameters observed were temperature, pH, DO, ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2), and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The results of the study concluded that the concentration of golden snail flour feed at various different doses had an effect (p<0.05) on ammonia (NH3) levels at the beginning and at the end of the study. The level of ammonia (NH3) in treatment D (0%) at the end of the study exceeded the water quality standard for class III fishing activities (0.02 mg/L). Meanwhile, the concentration of golden snail flour feed with various different doses had no effect (p<0.05) on nitrite (NO2) and H2S levels at the beginning and end of the study. Nitrite levels in all treatments exceeded the water quality standard for class III fishing activities (0.06 mg/L) and H2S levels in all treatments were still below the water quality standard threshold (0.05 mg/L).
