Abstract

This research was motivated by the low understanding of the concept of science in class VI students at SDN Pusparaja, pre-action data stated that out of a total of 21 students only 6 (28.57%) students understood the lesson well and 15 (71.42%) students had an understanding very good. understanding of the concept is low Meanwhile, for science learning in class VI of SDN Pusparaja science learning must be able to achieve a score of 68. This study aims to identify and analyze planning, implementation, and increasing understanding of science concepts using snakes and ladders media. . This type of research is classroom action research (CAR), with planning, action, observation, and reflection research procedures. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and tests. Based on the results of the study showed that learning using snakes and ladders media can improve students' understanding of concepts in science learning about the solar system. The results of the study concluded that students' conceptual understanding in science learning with snakes and ladders media in class VI of SDN I Pusparaja was able to increase. This increase before using the snakes and ladders media (pre-action) obtained an average score of 56.66 with a completeness percentage of 28.57% in the "less" category. .90% category "good" Then in cycle II obtained an average value of 73.33 with a percentage of 80.95% category "good". So that the use of snakes and ladders media is very well applied in classroom learning and is able to increase students' understanding of concepts in science learning about the solar system.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of concepts through the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in mathematics learning, specifically in the material of multiplication of whole numbers. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The subjects of this study are third-grade students of SDN 1 Sukamanah, totaling 23 students, consisting of 10 female students and 13 male students. Data collection methods include observation, evaluation sheets, LKPD (student worksheets), and documentation. Based on the analysis of data in cycle I, the average understanding of students' concepts is 65.22%, which falls into the moderate category, and in cycle II, the average understanding of students' concepts is 91.30%, which falls into the very good category. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model can improve students' understanding of concepts in the material of multiplication of whole numbers.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low cognitive learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences at SDN 3 Jahiang. This is due to the use of a less varied learning model, resulting in students being passive and not fully understanding the material. The purpose of this study is to enhance students' cognitive learning outcomes by applying the Make a Match cooperative learning model. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) project conducted in two cycles, involving 27 fourth-grade students from SDN 3 Jahiang as participants. Each cycle follows the stages of the Kemmis and McTaggart CAR model, which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection techniques employed were tests, observation, and documentation. The study's results showed an increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes following the implementation of the Make a Match cooperative learning model. In the pre-action phase, the average student score was 53.51 (classified as "Poor"), with a learning completion rate of 22.22%. In cycle I, the average score increased to 67.66 (category "Sufficient"), with a learning completion percentage of 55.56%. Furthermore, in cycle II, the average score increased again to 83.96 (category "Good"), with a learning completion percentage of 85.19%. Thus, the Make a Match cooperative learning model has been proven successful in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in the topic of plant propagation.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the emotional intelligence of fifth-grade students atSDN 3 Sumelap by implementing a debate learning model in Pancasila Education.Emotional intelligence is considered a crucial aspect of student characterdevelopment, encompassing self-awareness, self-control, motivation, empathy, and social skills. The research method used was Classroom Action Research(CAR), implemented in two cycles, each encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The resultsshowed that the use of the debate model significantly improved studentsemotional intelligence, as indicated by increased active participation, ability toexpress opinions, and emotional control during the learning process. Therefore, the debate model can be used as an effective alternative learning strategy toimprove students emotional intelligence in Pancasila Education.

Abstract

The role of elementary teachers in science education is crucial in developing students’scientific literacy. Teachers are also expected to be scientifically literate. However, existing studies indicates the scientific literacy of prospective elementary teachers is still classified moderate as a gapfound among them. This research was aimed to obtain a comprehensive overview of Science Process Skill (SPS)-based science matriculation implemented to equalize scientific literacy of prospective elementary teachers. The method used was a mix method with a convergent parallel design where both quantitative and qualitative data are collected simultaneously, analyzed separately, and interpreted as integrated results. The research subjects were 24 first semester students of PGSD study program taken through purposive sampling. The Wilcoxon test showed a Z-value of 269.0 with an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between pretest and post-test scores. The average post-test score increased by 16.9 points after completing the matriculation. Further analysis of N-gain score was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of matriculation. The results of the t-test showed a significant difference with a comparison value of 0.70 (t(23) = -10.3, p < 0.001), indicating that the effectiveness ofscience matriculation can be still improved to meet the better result.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the SmartEdu application as aninnovative digital platform to enhance collaboration and problem-solving skills among pre service elementary teachers in science learning. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and document analysis to investigate how SmartEdu supports interactive and reflective learning experiences. The results reveal that theintegration of SmartEdu facilitates active engagement, teamwork, and analytical reasoning, enabling students to construct knowledge through meaningful interaction and contextual exploration. Furthermore, the digital environment encourages independent inquiry and critical reflection, which strengthen students’ ability to connect scientific concepts with real-life contexts. These findings indicate that SmartEdu-based science learning not only improves students’ collaborative and problem-solving abilities but also nurtures deeper understanding and higher-order thinking, which are essential competencies for future educators in the 21st century.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is one of the most important aspect students should have to help them in making decisions toward any problem and to understand all the changes that probably occurred in society. According to last PISA results, scientific literacy of Indonesian students categorized as low. Educational institutions and teachers have responsibilities to improve this scientific literacy. This research was conducted to analyze the scientific literacy of prospective elementary teachers. Descriptive qualitative method was used and involve research subjects as much as 120. The data taken by giving scientific literacy test. questionnaire, and interview to some research subjects. The data analysis was inductive technique, consisted of collecting, reducing, displaying, and verifying data. The result was was 47,5 and categorized as moderate. This result indicated that the lecturer may implement learning strategies where science process skill of students could be well-developed, integrate science and mathematics courses, and engage students in scientific reading
