Abstract

Indonesia's tourism education is encountering considerable obstacles in advancing students' entrepreneurial competencies amidst digital revolution. This study seeks to evaluate the influence of digitalization on tourist education and to ascertain its efficacy as well as the challenges to its implementation. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative methodology, data were collected via interviews with scholars and industry professionals, as well as through observations and recording from tourist higher education institutions. The findings reveal that while several institutions have incorporated technology into education, deficiencies in infrastructure and teacher preparedness persist as significant barriers. The study indicates that a more systematic approach is necessary to incorporate technology efficiently, ensuring graduates remain competitive in the digital tourist sector. This research advances the creation of a more flexible and innovative technology-driven educational strategy.

Abstract

Abstract- The revitalization of Surabaya’s old precinct holds strong potential to enhance the city's tourism appeal and stimulate local economic development. This heritage-rich area has historical and cultural value, making it a strategic destination for both domestic and international tourists. However, several challenges hinder its development, including a lack of interactive attractions, insufficient public facilities such as cafés, rest areas, and toilets, as well as limited visitor engagement and short tourist stays. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research design, using triangulated data from in-depth interviews with government officials, heritage community members, and tourism practitioners, along with field observations and document analysis. The research aims to identify key strategies, opportunities, and constraints in revitalizing the precinct. Findings highlight the critical role of multi-stakeholder collaboration in revitalization efforts, where the synergy between the government, local communities, and the private sector is essential to success. The study also shows that improved infrastructure, enhanced public awareness, and creative tourism programming are necessary to sustain heritage tourism in the area. This study contributes to the discourse on sustainable urban heritage management and offers practical recommendations to policymakers seeking to balance conservation with tourism-driven economic growth in historic urban districts. Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between permanent employee welfare and business continuity in the shrimp farming industry, using a case study of CV Karunia Dewata in Karangasem, Bali. A qualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews and participatory observations as the primary data collection methods. The results indicate that employee welfare—including physical, mental, social, and economic aspects—significantly affects work productivity, loyalty, and discipline. The lack of attention to employee welfare was identified as a key factor contributing to non-compliance with SOPs, which negatively impacted biosecurity and production output. These findings underscore the strategic role of employee welfare in maintaining workforce stability and operational continuity. The study also offers practical recommendations to enhance welfare policies and adaptive supervision systems to ensure long-term sustainability of shrimp farming businesses.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted global tourism, altering travel behaviours and reshaping risk perceptions. This study investigates tourists' perceived risks and travel expectations in the new normal, focusing on Langkawi Island, Malaysia, and Bali, Indonesia, the two prominent Southeast Asian destinations. Using a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews with 60 participants (30 from each destination) revealed three key themes: destination risk, physical equipment risk, and vacation risk. The findings highlight the critical role of health and safety measures, including sanitation practices and digital innovations, in rebuilding tourist confidence. While Langkawi emphasizes family-friendly attractions and local travel bubbles, Bali leverages its cultural heritage and wellness tourism to align with evolving traveller priorities. Recommendations include adopting sustainable tourism practices, enhancing health communication, and integrating contactless technologies to foster resilience in the tourism sector. These insights offer valuable guidance for policymakers and stakeholders in designing adaptive strategies to ensure sustainable growth and competitiveness in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

A business is a company that conducts commercial, industrial, or professional operations. Businesses may be for-profit or non-profit organizations. Sole proprietorships, corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies are the four forms of businesses that exist. To achieve great customer satisfaction, any of these sorts of enterprises in hospitality required two-way interactions involving the consumer and service provider. If the service provider fails to supply a service, the hospitality business's viability will suffer. Communication in hospitality could be challenging. Communication itself in hospitality could be delivered verbally or non-verbally depending on the present event. This study uses a qualitative approach using textual analysis for data collection. Furthermore, the study also involves analyzing location, observing company interviews, and documentation based on current events on management’s communications in an ongoing situation. This research aims to pinpoint the online marketing communication that is used to improve sales in the hospitality business through personal engagement.

Abstract

Kampung Susu Lawu in Magetan, East Java, shows significant potential in developing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through processed milk and chips products. Despite having adequate infrastructure, local communities face challenges in diversifying products and increasing sales turnover. This study aims to overcome these obstacles through a structured mentoring program, including training in processing technology and digital marketing strategies. The method used in this community service is participatory, actively involving the community in every stage of product development. Training in processing technology and digital marketing has succeeded in significantly increasing the knowledge and skills of participants. The results of the study show that mentoring has not only succeeded in improving product quality and marketing capacity, but has also had a positive impact on the income and standard of living of the Kampung Susu Lawu community. However, several challenges such as resistance to change and limited access to technology still need to be overcome. To ensure long-term sustainability, stronger collaboration with external stakeholders and policy support that supports wider market access are important. This study emphasizes the importance of a participatory approach and ongoing support in community empowerment to support local economic development.
