Abstract

The rapid development of tourism industry raises a strong competition among hotels in Bali.  Hotels must be able to have strong competitiveness by maintaining and managing their assets, one of which is human resources or the employees, hence a special treatment is needed to maintain the loyalty to the company.  In other words, the hotel needs to retain its best employees so that the employee has no intention of leaving or turnover intention. The purpose of this study is to analyze to what extent the turnover intention variable is influenced by the employee motivation and employee engagement variables. It is a quantitative research that uses the GSCA (Generalized Structured Component Analysis) analysis method. The data in this study was obtained from a questionnaire distributed to 112 permanent employees of the W Bali - Seminyak Hotel with the criteria of at least one year working period. The results show that employee motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee engagement. However, employee motivation has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention. Employee engagement has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention, yet employee engagement mediates the relationship between employee motivation and turnover intention

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                               Penurunan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan yang drastis akibat pandemi Covid19 membuat seluruh destinasi dan atraksi wisata menutup sementara akses kunjungan bagi wisatawan. Penutupan tersebut juga berdampak pada menurunnya pendapatan para pelaku usaha pariwisata, termasuk mitra abdimas yaitu kelompok sadar wisata (Pokdarwis) di Desa Wisata Peniwen. Namun, seiring adanya penerapan tatanan normal baru (New Normal) dalam industri pariwisata, para pelaku wisata termasuk Pokdarwis Desa Wisata Peniwen bersemangat untuk membuka kembali usaha pariwisata mereka. Adanya Protokol Cleanliness, Health, Security, Environment Sustainability (CHSE) menjadi perhatian tersendiri bagi pelaku usaha pariwisata khususnya Pokdarwis Desa Wisata Peniwen. Pelatihan protokol CHSE di Desa Wisata Peniwen dilakukan dengan Kerjasama Universitas Ciputra Surabaya dan Kemenparekraf yang bertujuan untuk membekali pelaku usaha pariwisata dalam memenuhi standar berwisata sesuai tatanan normal baru pada masa pandemi. Dari pelatihan tersebut, pengelola Desa Wisata Peniwen mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai protokol kesehatan yang aplikatif untuk dapat diterapkan di setiap lini bisnis yang ada, dengan tujuan menjamin keamanan dan kenyamanan wisatawan. Selain itu, keberlanjutan dari wisata desa yang ada di Desa Wisata Peniwen dapat terjamin dan usaha penduduk dari sektor pariwisata dapat berangsur pulih. Kata kunci: Pandemi Covid 19; Protokol CHSE; Desa Wisata; Tatanan Normal Baru  ABSTRACTThe number of tourists visit that drastically decreased due to Covid19 pandemic resulted to the temporary closing of all accesses to the destination and the attraction. The closing impacted on the revenue decline for those who ran tourism business, including the community service’s partner that is Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Peniwen Tourism Village. However, as the new normal implemented in tourism industry, all tourism business runners also for Pokdarwis in Peniwen Tourism Village were eager to reopen their business. The presence of Cleanliness, Health, Security, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) Protocol becomes particular concern especially Pokdarwis of Peniwen Tourism Village in restoring tourist visit and strengthening the business of its residents. The training of CHSE protocol in Peniwen Tourism Village was conducted through collaboration between Universitas Ciputra Surabaya and Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) aimed to equip tourism business runners in fulfilling tourism standard in accordance with new normal. From the training, Peniwen Tourism Village management gained the insight regarding the applicative health protocol to be implemented in each existed business line to ensure tourists’ safety and comfort. Abstract

In the hospitality industry, the quality of service to customers is the most important thing. This requires the best participation of all employees for a company, which may lead to an increase of an individual performance. This study aims to examine the effect of organizational commitment toward organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and employee performance. This research uses 144 employees of 3, 4 and 5 star hotels in Surabaya as the samples. The data was collected through questionnaires and processed using SmartPLS software. The findings generated from this study reveal that organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance directly and through OCB as mediating factors. OCB itself also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The practical implication that can be suggested to hotel management is to enhance a holistic approach on the employees in order to increase emotional attachment of the employee toward the company. As the result, the employee sense of belonging on the company will increase, which make them also be responsible for the company's success. Abstract

Pendampingan pengelolaan homestay Griyo Ngaso Desa Wisata Peniwen Kecamatan Kromengan Kabupaten Malang merupakan upaya dalam menjawab permasalahan yang dialami oleh kelompok komunitas pengelola homestay (Griyo Ngaso) di Desa Peniwen adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Belum terkelolanya homestay sebagai penunjang wisata budaya desa secara baik. (2) Belum adanya standar pelayanan terpadu pada unit usaha Griyo Ngaso di Peniwen. (3) Belum adanya SDM yang memiliki kecakapan secara khusus dalam pengelolaan Griya Ngaso. Melalui kegiatan pendampingan solusi yang ditawarkan antara lain: (a) memberikan pengetahuan manajemen layanan homestay terpadu; (b) membuatkan panduan pengelolaan homestay; (c) penataan sistem dan penguatan SDM dalam pengelolaan usaha homestay. Metode yang dilakukan melalui pelatihan bagi kader kelompok pengelola homestay dan perumusan sistem tata kelola secara bersama melalui focus group discussion.

Abstract

Melandainya pandemi Covid-19 membuat jumlah hotel baru di Indonesia mengalami pertumbuhan yang positif. Konsekuensinya tingkat persaingan hotel menjadi ketat. Dalam situasi semacam ini, peran pemimpin menjadi krusial. Pemimpin di hotel baru harus mampu menciptakan kinerja hotel dengan baik sehingga tetap dapat bersaing. Studi ini hadir dengan tujuan untuk mengamati keterkaitan pengaruh resiliensi kewirausahaan terhadap kinerja hotel baru. Studi ini juga mencoba melihat bagaimana peran efikasi diri kepemimpinan kewirausahaan dalam memoderasi hubungan resiliensi kewirausahaan dan kinerja hotel baru. Studi ini melibatkan pemimpin top level management dari 101 hotel baru yang ada di provinsi Bali. Hasil olah data menunjukkan bahwa resiliensi kewirausahaan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja hotel baru. Demikian pula efikasi diri kepemimpinan kewirausahaan dapat memoderasi secara positif dan signifikan hubungan antara resiliensi kewirausahaan dan kinerja hotel baru. Temuan studi ini berkontribusi dalam memperkaya literatur yang ada saat ini mengingat masih terbatasnya studi semacam ini dalam konteks industri perhotelan di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital transformation on productivity and profitability of SMEs in the trading sector in Surabaya City. Data were collected through a survey involving 50 SMEs that have adopted digital technology. The results show that the use of digital technologies, including e-commerce, inventory management systems, and online payments, significantly improves the operational efficiency and profitability of SMEs. Most SMEs reported increased sales and profit margins after adopting digital technologies. However, lack of technological know-how and budget constraints are the main challenges in the digital transformation process. Therefore, support from the government and relevant institutions is needed to provide training and financial assistance to encourage wider adoption of digital technologies. This research provides an in-depth insight into the benefits and challenges of digital transformation for SMEs in Surabaya, and provides recommendations to accelerate the adoption of digital technology among SMEs

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and determine market development strategies in the tourism industry. This research approach collects data through literature studies, which involve reading literature from various sources including books, journals and reports using qualitative and deductive approaches. The findings in this study are that there are strategies for developing facilities and infrastructure to support the tourism industry, namely the strategy for developing local community-based accommodation, and the strategy for developing supporting facilities with the concept of an agropolitan area, including restaurant or food stall facilities, ATM facilities, and rest areas. In addition, there are also market development strategies in the tourism industry, including market segmentation, use of technology, collaboration with stakeholders, product innovation, and sustainability.

Abstract

Today, since products and services are so easily replicable, companies face a challenge to differentiate themselves to compete in the market. One of the most effective ways to create difference in the market is by creating a strong brand. A strong brand image is intangible asset for companies that are difficult to imitate. This study examines the relationship between brand image and customer satisfaction. A hundred customers were used as the research sample, and the data was extracted using online questionnaires distributed to Maxx Coffee customers within Surabaya area. The data was then be analyzed with Linear Regression and be processed using SPSS 20.0. The result indicated that brand image positively affect customer satisfaction at Maxx Coffee brands in Surabaya. However, the results imply that brand image has only little contribution to customer satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of culinary tourism attractions on people's interest in traveling in the Special Region of Yogyakarta through social media marketing on TikTok. The approach used is quantitative with a survey method, involving 115 respondents who are interested in culinary tourism in Yogyakarta. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SmartPLS to test the relationship between variables. The results of the study indicate that culinary tourism attractions have a significant effect on people's interest in traveling, both directly and through social media, especially TikTok. The uniqueness of local culinary such as gudeg and bakpia, as well as the authentic experiences offered, have succeeded in creating viral content that strengthens tourist interest. Social media marketing, especially TikTok content, has proven effective in promoting local culinary tourism and increasing interest in visiting. Based on these findings, it is recommended that culinary business actors introduce more interactive experiences, such as involving tourists in making culinary, and offering attractive promos through TikTok to increase transactions. In addition, content creators need to pay attention to the context and attractive visuals in making videos in order to more effectively reach the right audience. This study provides an important contribution to the development of social media-based culinary tourism promotion strategies in Yogyakarta. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of influencers on the TikTok platform on brand awareness and purchase intention at Monsieur Spoon cafe in Surabaya. Additionally, this study examines the role of brand awareness as a mediating variable in the relationship between TikTok influencers and purchase intention. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach, where data was collected through questionnaires distributed to Monsieur Spoon cafe consumers who were the target of promotional content from influencers on TikTok. A total of 180 respondents participated in the survey. The results show that influencers on the TikTok platform significantly affect brand awareness and purchase intention. Furthermore, brand awareness also has a positive impact on purchase intention. The findings also indicate that brand awareness plays a role as a mediator in the relationship between TikTok influencers and purchase intention. These results have implications for business owners in the culinary industry, particularly Monsieur Spoon cafe, to further leverage digital marketing strategies through influencers on TikTok to enhance brand awareness and purchase intention among consumers.
