Abstract

This research aims to describe adolescents' perceptions of the dual role of career mothers, the involvement of career mothers in education, and the meaning of career mothers' involvement. Three research subjects met the research criteria, namely Indonesian citizens, aged 12 - 21 years, and had a career mother. The research method used is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach with data collection techniques using in-depth interview methods. Research findings show that adolescents perceive the dual role of career mothers positively and negatively. The involvement of career mothers in adolescents' education is a form of adolescents' positive perception of career mothers, while negative perceptions are mostly related to lack of communication and togetherness due to mothers' busy schedules. Career mothers are involved in adolescent education through material and emotional support. Research also finds that the effectiveness of implementing the dual role of career mother can also be a factor in adolescents' career choices. The overall research results show that mothers' career involvement in education is perceived as having an influence on adolescents' academic achievement.

Abstract

. Motivation to learn is one aspect of supporting young women in pursuing education. However, there are teenage girls whose motivation to learn is influenced by the sexual violence they experience. The aim of the research is to determine the description of sexual violence, learning motivation and learning motivation factors among survivors of sexual violence in Makassar. This research is a qualitative phenomenological research. The research subjects were 3 female teenagers aged 20 – 22 years who were students in Makassar. Data was collected through an interview process which resulted in interview transcripts and voice recording documentation. The data that has been coded is then analyzed for the suitability of interpretation between the subject and the researcher. This research found that adolescent girls experience sexual violence in the family, school, campus and public places which has an impact on their physical, psychological, spiritual, learning processes and outcomes. However, teenagers continue to learn and overcome learning obstacles in order to fulfill their dreams and hopes. Factors that shape teenagers' learning motivation include internal factors and external factors. Internal factors are needs and aspirations, while external factors are social support from family and peers. It is hoped that this research will provide an understanding regarding learning motivation and the factors that shape learning motivation in female adolescent survivors of sexual violence. The conclusion of this research is that even though sexual violence has an impact on the physical and psychological impact of adolescent girls, adolescents still have good motivation to study because of the internal and external factors that support adolescents.

Abstract

Bullying is one of the problems among freshmen who often lack direct, honest, and assertive self-expression to defend personal rights in expressing feelings, also called assertive behavior. This study aims to look at the relationship between assertive behavior and the tendency to be the object of bullying in freshmen. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis methods, hypothesis testing (spearman's rho), and t-test (mann-whitney). The subjects of this study were 320 new students of the Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University. The results showed that there is a relationship between assertive behavior and the tendency to be the object of bullying in new students (p = 0.000, r = 0.312). This means that the higher the assertive behavior, the lower the tendency to be the object of bullying in new students and vice versa. The results of additional analysis show that there are no differences in assertive behavior, however, there are differences in the tendency to be the object of bullying based on gender. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between assertive behavior and the tendency to be the object of bullying in freshmen with a moderate correlation.

Abstract

Mahasiswa dalam menempuh perkuliahan diperguruan tinggi sangat membutuhkan motivasi berprestasi dalam memperoleh pengetahuan, nilai-nilai, dan keterampilan yang berhubungan dengan keilmuannya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi berprestasi yaitu faktor lingkungan keluarga, khususnya orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peran ayah terhadap motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa rantau Universitas Negeri Makassar. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Makassar sebanyak 389 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu skala peran ayah dan skala motivasi berprestasi. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif antara peran ayah terhadap motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Makassar. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada bidang Psikologi Pendidikan dan Perkembangan terkait peran ayah yang berdampak terhadap motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran keterampilan sosial sebagai mediator pada pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap motivasi berprestasi pada siswa sekolah menengah pertama di Makassar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain kausalitas dan metode survei yang melibatkan 350 siswa SMP di Kota Makassar yang diperoleh melalui teknik proportional random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Multidimentional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire (ICQ), dan Prestatie Motivate Test (PMT). Analisis data penelitian menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan pendekatan PLS-SEM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial berpengaruh negatif terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa, keterampilan sosial berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa, dukungan sosial berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan sosial, dan terdapat peran mediator variabel keterampilan sosial dalam pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa.
