Abstract

This study aims to determine the challenges and effectiveness of the Gerakan Lancar Membaca (KAREBA) program as a teaching program in reading assistance for students of SD Inpres Sambung Jawa 1 Makassar. KAREBA is a program designed by students of Teaching V campus to improve students' reading skills through a structured approach and active participation. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The researcher made observations first, then interviewed 5 students of Teaching Campus V at SD Inpres Sambung Jawa 1 Makassar. The results showed that there were several challenges and effectiveness in implementing the KAREBA program at SD Inpres Sambung Jawa 1 Makassar. The challenges are student attendance and participation, motivation and interest in learning, and time management. Opportunities for these challenges include improved reading skills, parental and school support, and teaching methods. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the KAREBA program can be a reference for elementary school teachers in implementing this teaching program.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe the reinforcement of religious character education values in the film Habibie & Ainun 3; (2) Describe the reinforcement of nationalism character education values in the film Habibie & Ainun 3; (3) Describe the reinforcement of independent character education values in the film Habibie & Ainun 3; (4) Describe the reinforcement of cooperative values in the film Habibie & Ainun 3; (5) Describe the reinforcement of integrity character education values in the film Habibie & Ainun 3. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and note-taking techniques. The data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity checking uses triangulation theory. The results of this study show the characteristics of reinforcing character education values in the film Habibie & Ainun 3, namely the reinforcement of religious values, nationalism values, independence values, cooperative values, and integrity values.

Abstract

The ability to conduct item analysis is one of the essential competencies that prospective teachers must have in the context of learning evaluation. However, in reality, many prospective teachers do not have adequate understanding and skills in analyzing the quality of questions quantitatively, especially in measuring the level of difficulty and the index of distinguishing power. This community service activity aims to improve the competence of prospective student teachers through practice-based item analysis training. The method used in this activity is structured training which includes providing conceptual material, practicing manual and digital calculations using Microsoft Excel, discussions, and pretest and posttest evaluations. The results of the training showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the concept of item analysis and their ability to apply it technically. In addition, participants showed high enthusiasm and stated that the training was very relevant to their needs as future educators. This activity makes an important contribution in preparing students to face professional challenges as teachers who are able to design and evaluate assessments objectively and with quality.

Abstract

This study examines the structure and pattern of theme-rheme in Kompas.com news. This study aims to describe the structure and dominant pattern of theme-rheme in Kompas.com news texts. This study uses the Systemic Functional Linguistics (LSF) approach developed by Halliday. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of documentation, reading, and recording. Data were taken from 32 online news published in the national rubric in Kompas.com during December 2024. The results of the study indicate that the interpersonal theme shows an emphasis on the relationship between the writer and the reader in presenting information. Followed by the textual theme. In terms of patterns, it was found that the sequential theme-rheme pattern appeared most often, followed by causal and argumentative patterns. This study shows that the strategy for compiling themes-rhemes in online news reflects a communicative and effective pattern of information delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of diction in writing poetry texts by eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Makassar. This study uses qualitative descriptive. The focus of this study is to analyze data on poetry texts created by students to describe the use of diction used in their poetry. The data in this study is diction in students' poetry texts. The data sources for this study were taken from students' poetry texts. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, assignments, and documentation. Data analysis techniques applied in this study were reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the most dominant types of diction used were connotative diction and abstract words. Meanwhile, types of diction such as synonyms, antonyms, slang words, jargon words, and slang were almost never found. This finding indicates that students' ability to choose diction is still limited and tends towards general and emotional diction. Therefore, this study recommends the need for learning that is more focused on the variation and application of diction in writing poetry so that students are able to express their ideas and feelings more richly and creatively.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the form of Indonesian language errors and their causative factors at the phonological level carried out by BIPA learners in Alekawa, Makassar City. The research data was in the form of oral speech of BIPA learners which contained phonological errors. Data collection was carried out through documentation, observation, and interview techniques. Data is analyzed by the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results showed significant phonological errors, with the dominant forms of errors including: 1) phoneme changes, such as /a/ to /e/ (e.g. "kalo" to "kelo"), /m/ to /b/ (e.g. "eat" to "bakan"), and /m/ to /ng/ (e.g. "night" to "ngalam"); 2) the omission of phonemes, such as /e/ (e.g. "shoe" becomes "spatu") and /g/ (e.g. "fence" becomes "pair"); and 3) the addition of phonemes, such as /h/, /s/, and /w/ (e.g. "let" become "hayo"). Factors that cause these errors include mother tongue interference due to differences in intonation, syllable, and pressure patterns; lack of mastery of the rules of Indonesian phonology; and age factors that affect the adaptation of the speech organs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of multimodal text media in folklore learning in grade V students of SD Negeri 88 Pinrang, including the application of media, student responses, and obstacles faced by teachers and students in learning. This study uses a type of qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive design. Data collection is carried out through observation or observation in the learning process, using media use checklists, interviews, and using student response questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results show that the use of multimodal text media, such as images, sounds, and videos, can attract students' attention, increase motivation, and help them understand the cultural values contained in folklore. Limited infrastructure, devices, and networks are some of the challenges encountered. However, it is evident that multimodal text media increases students' interest, active participation, and understanding of the lessons. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more innovative and contextual learning methods in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to: describe the characteristics of hyperbolic language style and describe the function of using hyperbolic language style in the novel "Pulang" by Tere Liye. This type of research is qualitative. The instruments used in this research are human instruments or the researchers themselves. The data collection technique in this research uses library study techniques. The data analysis technique used in this research is the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results of this research show that the novel "Pulang" by Tere Liye uses four characteristics of hyperbolic language style, namely unreasonableness such as describing the character of a situation that is far beyond reasonable possibilities, exaggeration such as mentioning passionate feelings or unbearable suffering. , dramatic such as creating a dramatization of the emotional power of a conflict or climactic moment, and has the ability to influence the reader or listener to feel a certain intensity and accept a stronger idea. Furthermore, the function of hyperbolic language style in the novel "Pulang" by Tere Liye is to provide a dramatic effect to increase tension and create deep feelings, to beautify sentences to create impressive images, to make the story more lively and colorful, to emphasize emotions to present deep emotional nuances, and increase the attraction to the reader to create an amazing picture, so that the novel is more interesting and beautiful.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motif penggunaan fitur kosakata ujaran kebencian di Twitter. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui tiga tahap: membaca teliti twit-twit yang mengandung ujaran kebencian, mendokumentasikan twit dalam bentuk tangkapan layar, serta mencatat twit dalam tabel klasifikasi data. Kemudian, data dianalisis dengan teori analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough berupa analisis teks, interpretasi konteks wacana, dan eksplanasi praktik sosial. Analisis data berfokus pada nilai eksperensial dalam fitur kosakata ujaran kebencian. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai eksperensial kosakata ujaran kebencian terepresentasi melalui penggunaan kelebihan penyusunan kata, kata-kata ideologis, dan metafora. Kelebihan penyusunan kata merepresentasikan ujaran penghinaan pada pribadi orang lain, penghinaan pada identitas golongan, dan rasialisme. Kata-kata ideologis merepresentasikan ujaran penghinaan pada pribadi orang lain, penghinaan pada identitas golongan, dan seksisme. Metafora merepresentasikan ujaran penghinaan pada pribadi orang lain, penghinaan identitas golongan, dan rasialisme.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the implementation of literacy programs at SDN 031 Banu-Banua, Polewali Mandar Regency which is carried out through three main stages, namely the stages of habituation, development, and learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. This approach is used to provide a comprehensive overview of the implementation of school literacy programs. The results of the study show that the implementation of the literacy program at SDN 031 Banu-Banua has gone well. At the habituation stage, the program succeeded in forming students' reading habits through routine activities such as reading Tuesday, reading corner, and Wednesday of faith. The development stage successfully expands students' literacy skills and analytical power through activities such as wall magazine management, book reflection, and visual literacy. The learning stage contributes to improving students' creativity, critical thinking skills, and communication skills through short story writing activities, story presentations, and work discussions. The success of the implementation of the program is supported by the active involvement of teachers and the availability of adequate literacy facilities. However, there are still several obstacles faced, including low interest in reading students, lack of variation in the reading atmosphere due to the absence of libraries, and the influence of undirected use of technology. Overall, the literacy program at SDN 031 Banu-Banua shows effectiveness in fostering a basic literacy culture in students. The implementation of this program needs to be strengthened through the procurement of school libraries, active involvement of parents, and the application of literacy methods that are more innovative and relevant to technological developments.
