Abstract

Minuman kemasan yang mengandung vitamin C sering terpapar oleh sinar matahari terutama pada saat proses pendistribusian dan penjualan minuman, padahal senyawa asam askorbat yang berperan sebagai antioksidan mudah mengalami degradasi atau oksidasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kandungan asam askorbat pada minuman kemasan mengalami perubahan yang signifikan setelah dibiarkan terpapar di bawah sinar matahari. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah dua belas produk minuman kemasan yang mengandung vitamin C. Dua belas minuman kemasan tersebut diukur konsentrasi asam askorbatnya, kemudian dibiarkan terpapar di bawah sinar matahari selama satu jam, setelah itu diukur kembali konsentrasi asam askorbatnya. Pengukuran tersebut dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode spektrofotometri uv-vis pada panjang gelombang 265,5 nm. Untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan konsentrasi asam askorbat antara minuman kemasan sebelum dengan setelah perlakuan maka dilakukan uji statistik berupa Paired Sample T-Test. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer uv-vis diperoleh hasil bahwa konsentrasi asam askorbat yang terkandung pada kedua belas sampel minuman kemasan mengalami penurunan setelah didiamkan di bawah sinar matahari selama satu jam. Penurunan tersebut berada pada rentang 1,97%  hingga 58.79%. Hasil uji Paired Sample T-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,001 atau p<0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaaan yang signifikan antara kandungan asam askorbat sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa paparan sinar matahari selama satu jam dapat menyebabkan penurunan konsentrasi asam askorbat dalam minuman kemasan secara signifikan

Abstract

Cooking oil frequently used by the community is palm oil. When heated repeatedly, this oil can produce acrolein, a compound that contributes to the formation of acrylamide. Water Hyacinth cellulose contains -OH groups capable of binding to acrylamide. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding Water Hyacinth cellulose as an adsorbent and to evaluate the impact of soaking time and cellulose weight on acrylamide levels. The analysis was conducted using HPLC, with a mobile phase consisting of methanol and 0.1% phosphoric in a ratio of 5:95, at a flow rate of 1mL/min; the volume of the injected sample was 20 µL. Acrylamide in oil was identified at a retention time of 4.700 minutes. The regression equation obtained from the acrylamide calibration curve is y=229.52 x + 10.472 with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9988. This study concluded that soaking for 24 hours can reduce acrylamide levels by 69.13%, and using 6 grams of cellulose can reduce acrylamide levels by 75.15%.

Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition where a person has bowel movements three or more times a day, with consistent stools. One of the common bacteria that causes diarrhea is Escherichia coli. Empirical and preclinical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of guava leaves (Psidium guajava L.) in treating diarrhea due to their tannin content. Nanosuspension formulations can be created to simplify the use of guava leaves for medicinal purposes. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of guava leaf extract, both in its natural form and as a nanosuspension preparation, against Escherichia coli. Additionally, the study aims to characterize the guava leaf extract nanosuspension used in the experiment. The technique used to make nanosuspension involves ionic gelation methods by using chitosan as a polymer, and subsequent characterization of the resulting product includes organoleptic testing, specific weight, pH, sedimentation volume, and viscosity. After the characterization of the guava leaf nanosuspension, it was found that the optimal formula had a particle size of 245.7 nm at a concentration of 0.01%, a polydispersion index of 0.406, and a zeta potential of +26.9 mV. Guava leaf ethanol extract 1% has a diameter of the inhibitory zone of 4.05±0.45 mm. However, the nanosuspension form of P. guajava L at a concentration of 0.01% has an inhibitory zone diameter of 11.45±0.64 mm. The nanosuspension formulation using P. guajava L has met the evaluation requirements and has antibacterial activity against E. coli bacteria.

Abstract

Antibiotic resistance has become a global issue that is quite worrying because it can threaten the survival of living things, especially humans. This resistance can occur due to the inappropriate use of antibiotics by the community. This study aims to determine the ability of activated charcoal magnetic composites (ACMC) to adsorb tetracycline hydrochloride compounds. Samples were obtained from jengkol peel waste which was charred and activated using acid and the addition of magnetic properties. The more PbFe2O4 added to activated charcoal, the greater the magnetic properties, surface area, pore-volume, and pore radius. The results showed that a type of IV adsorption isotherm which is a characteristic of mesoporous materials with a pore size of 2.0892 nm. The addition of magnetic properties to activated charcoal increase 29.33% the amount of tetracycline that is adsorbed by the adsorbent with optimal absorption in alkaline conditions. The adsorption process followed the adsorption kinetics of Ho and the Freundlich adsorption isotherm with an adsorption capacity of 76.3359 mg/g. ACMC material can potentially be one of the adsorbents that can reduce contamination of tetracycline hydrochloride antibiotics in the aquatic environment so that antimicrobial resistance can be minimized. Abstract

Jahe (Zingiber officinale) dan kunyit (Curcuma longa L) merupakan tanaman herbal yang terkenal karena manfaat terapeutiknya. Tumbuhan ini mengandung unsur bioaktif yang masing-masing disebut sebagai gingerol dan kurkumin, yang menunjukkan kualitas potensi antibakteri. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji atribut dan sifat antibakteri dari zat-zat tersebut. potensi Edible Film yang terdiri dari 5% ekstrak jahe gingerol dan kombinasi kurkumin terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengecoran pelarut, evaluasi film yang dapat dimakan melalui analisis sensori, pengukuran ketebalan, penilaian keseragaman berat, penentuan pH, pengujian kerapuhan, pengukuran ketahanan lipat, analisis waktu hancur dan disolusi, penentuan kadar air, penilaian elongasi dan kekuatan tarik, stabilitas pemeriksaan, uji hedonik, evaluasi aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes, dan analisis gugus fungsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Edible Film mempunyai karakteristik berbentuk persegi panjang berukuran 2x3 cm dengan warna berbeda tiap formula, bau yang khas, rasa manis dan pedas, ketebalan 0,11 mm - 0,12 mm, keseragaman berat 60,3 mg-68,87 mg, kerapuhan. 1,14%-2,95%, ketahanan lipat >500x, waktu hancur <30 detik, waktu larut <60 detik, kadar udara 8,58%-12,05%, kuat tarik 2,42 MPa – 16,18 MPa yang sesuai dengan Standar Industri Jepang (JIS) dan teori yang ada, tetapi penambahan persen memberikan hasil yang buruk. Sediaan Edible film baik formula tunggal maupun kombinasi mampu menghambat bakteri dengan diameter zona hambat F2, F3, dan F4 masing-masing 6,56 mm, 6,36 mm, dan 6,92 mm terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes dengan masing-masing kategori sedang.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pada saat ini, kesadaran tentang pentingnya penggunaan deterjen cair pakaian semakin meningkat. Kandungan surfaktan yang terkandung dalam detergen dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi makhluk hidup dan lingkungan karena limbah yang tidak terurai dengan baik oleh mikroorganisme akan menjadi suatu permasalahan bagi lingkungan. Workshop ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi dan keterampilan kepada warga dalam memproduksi deterjen cair yang ramah lingkungan dan hemat biaya. Materi penyuluhan disampaikan dalam bentuk ceramah dan tanya jawab, dengan diharapkan peserta dapat memahami manfaat deterjen untuk kebersihan pakaian keluarga, mengenai deterjen pakaian yang ramah lingkungan, dan mampu melakukan sosialisasi serta mempraktekkan pembuatan deterjen pakaian sendiri. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan statistik, terdapat peningkatan rata-rata nilai skor kuesioner peserta setelah mengikuti pelatihan dalam pembuatan deterjen cair pakaian. Hasil uji statistik menggunakan uji T berpasangan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan antara nilai rata-rata skor kuesioner peserta sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. kegiatan workshop ini dapat memberikan manfaat yang baik bagi masyarakat dan lingkungan sekitar desa, seperti mengurangi biaya pengeluaran keluarga dan memberikan peluang berwirausaha penjualan deterjen cair pakaian. Kata Kunci: Deterjen, Ekonomis, Workshop, Ramah Lingkungan, Parigi  ABSTRACT At this time, awareness about the importance of using liquid laundry detergent is increasing. Because waste that does not properly decompose by microorganisms will become a problem for the environment, the surfactant content in detergents may have a negative effect on living things and the environment. This workshop aims to provide education and skills to residents in producing environmentally friendly and cost-effective liquid detergent. The education material is delivered in the form of lectures and questions and answers, with the hope that participants will be able to understand the benefits of detergent for cleaning family clothes, learn about environmentally friendly laundry detergent, and be able to socialize and practice making their own laundry detergent. Based on the results of statistical processing, there was an increase in the average score of participants' questionnaires after taking part in training in making liquid laundry detergent. The results of statistical tests using the paired T test showed that there was a significant average difference between the average scores of participant questionnaires before and after training. Abstract

ABSTRAK Masyarakat daerah Cikatomas Kabupaten Tasikmalaya mata pencaharian utamanya adalah sebagai petani, sehingga tanaman tumbuh baik disana, pemanfaatan tanaman ini dapat dibuat untuk bahan baku jamu sehingga dapat memberdayakan dan mendorong masyarakat dalam upaya pengembangan kesehatan tradisional. Memberdayakan masyarakat dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengolah tanaman obat menjadi produk jamu yang bermanfaat bagi Kesehatan selain itu untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya memilih jamu yang aman dan memiliki izin edar dari BPOM serta mengembangkan potensi ekonomi lokal melalui usaha home industry berbasis produk jamu. Total peserta yang termasuk dalam kriteria inkulusi dalam kegiatan ini adalah 110 orang, penyuluhan yang dilakukan menggunakan metode presentasi dengan media spanduk, stiker, dan power point, selain itu dilakukan pretest dan post-test. Rata-rata pretest sebesar 58,41 dan post-test sebesar 92,95, berdasarkan hasil pengujian statistik nilai pretest dengan post-test memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05). Program penyuluhan pemanfaatan Bahan Baku Obat Tradisional dalam pembuatan sediaan jamu dan cerdas memilih obat tradisional di Kampung Parunggolong desa Lengkong Barang kecamatan Cikatomas Kabupaten Tasikmalaya mendapatkan respon yang positif dari masyarakat setempat. Kata Kunci: Obat Tradisional, Jamu, Cikatomas  ABSTRACT The people of the Cikatomas area in Tasikmalaya Regency primarily earn their livelihood as farmers. The plants grown there are well-suited for use as raw materials in herbal medicines. Utilizing these plants can empower and encourage the community in their efforts to develop traditional health practices. Empowering the community with knowledge and skills to process medicinal plants into beneficial herbal products not only increases public awareness about the importance of selecting herbal medicines that are safe and approved by BPOM but also helps develop local economic potential through home-based businesses centered around herbal medicine products. A total of 110 participants met the inclusion criteria for this activity. The counseling was conducted using presentations with banners, stickers, and PowerPoint. Additionally, a pretest and post-test were administered. The pretest average score was 58.41, while the post-test average was 92.95. Based on statistical testing, there is a significant difference between the pretest and post-test scores (p < 0.05). The outreach program focused on the use of traditional medicinal raw materials for making herbal medicine preparations and smart selection of traditional medicines in Parunggolong Village, Lengkong Barang Village, Cikatomas District, Tasikmalaya Regency, was well-received by the local community. Keywords: Traditional Medicine, Jammu, Cikatomas

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kosmetik telah menjadi kebutuhan sehari-hari, namun masih banyak produk yang tidak memenuhi standar keamanan dan regulasi. Banyak produk kosmetik illegal dan tidak terdaftar di Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM), sehingga beresiko mengandung bahan berbahaya. Selain itu, kesadaran Masyarakat, terutama siswa/I sekolah kejuruan farmasi, tentang pentingnya kosmetik yang aman dan halal masih terbatas. Program pengabdian masyarakt ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa/I SMK Farmasi Bina Putera Nusantara Tasikmalaya mengenai pentingnya penandaan dan regristrasi sediaan kosmetik yang baik dan halal, sehingga mereka dapat menjadi konsumen yang lebih cerdas dan kritis dalam memilih produk kosmetik. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan dengan metode presentasi, diskusi interaktif, serta pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur pemahaman peserta. Media yang digunakan meliputi brosur, spanduk, dan presentasi menggunakan PowerPoint. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa/I terhadap aspek legalitas dan keamanan kosmetik, ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan skor post-test dibandingkan pre-test. Siswa/I menjadi lebih memahami pentingnya regristrasi BPOM, penandaan kosmetik, seta konsep halal dalam produk kosmetik. Program penyuluhan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan siswa/I mengenai kosmetik yang aman dan halal. Dengan edukasi yang tepat, generasi muda dapat menjadi konsumen yang lebih bijak dalam memilih dan menggunakan produk kosmetik yang terjamin kualitas serta keamanannya Kata Kunci: Penyuluhan, Kosmetik Halal, Regristrasi BPOM, Edukasi Konsumen, Keamanan Kosmetik  ABSTRACT Cosmetics have become an essential part of daily life. However, many products on the market do not meet safety and regulatory standards. The presence of illegal and unregistered cosmetics, which may contain harmful substances, remains a significant concern. Public awareness- particularly among vocational pharmacy students- is still lacking regarding the importance of safe and halal-certified cosmetics. This community engagement program aims to enhance students’ understanding of SMK Farmasi Bina Putera Nusantara Tasikmalaya regarding the importance of proper cosmetic labeling and registration, enabling them to become more informed and critical consumers. The program was conducted as an educational seminar using a presentation-based approach, interactive discussion, and pre-test and post-test assessment to evaluate participants’ comprehension. The materials were delivered through brochures, banners, and PowerPoint presentations. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in students’ knowledge of cosmetic legality and safety. Post-test scores demonstrated an increased understanding of BPOM registration, cosmetic labelling regulations, and halal certification requirements compared to pre-test results. The outreach program effectively raised students’ awareness and knowledge of safe and halal cosmetics. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penyakit infeksi kulit adalah penyakit kulit yang disebabkan oleh mikroorganisme seperti virus, jamur, bakteri dan parasite. Kulit merupakan pelindung beberapa organ yang ada di dalam tubuh dan bagian tubuh yang cukup sensitive terhadap beberapa penyakit. Penyuluhan yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kepedulian masyarakat Desa Limbangan Kec. Wanareja Kab. Cilacap Jawa Tengah untuk tetap menjaga kebersihan dan lingkungan sekitar serta pengobatan dari penyakit infeksi kulit. Pelaksanaan kegiatan penyuluhan yang dilakukan berupa pemaparan materi dan pre-test serta post-test pemahaman mengenai penyakit infeksi kulit Peserta kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat posyandu lestari 06 Dusun Saungluhur Desa Limbangan. Hasil test sebelum pemaparan materi memiliki nilai rata-rata 75.45 sedangkan setelah pemaparan materi menjadi 96.82. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pengetahuan masyarakat posyanda antara sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan penyuluhan. Penyuluhan menganai pemberian penyakit infeksi kulit memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat setempat. Kata Kunci: Penyakit, Kulit, Kesehatan, Penyuluhan  ABSTRACT Skin infections are skin diseases caused by microorganisms such as viruses, fungi, bacteria, and parasites. The skin is a protector of several organs in the body and parts of the body that are quite sensitive to several diseases. Counseling was carried out to increase the knowledge and awareness of the community to maintain cleanliness and the surrounding environment as well as treatment for skin infections. Implementation of counseling activities carried out in the form of presentation of material and an understanding test about skin infections. The test results before the presentation of the material had an average value of 75.45 while after the presentation of the material it became 96.82. There was a significant difference in the community's knowledge between before and after the extension activities. Education regarding the treatment of skin infections provides increased knowledge of the local community. Keywords: Disease, Skin, Health, Counseling
