Abstract

ABSTRAK Penyakit infeksi kulit adalah penyakit kulit yang disebabkan oleh mikroorganisme seperti virus, jamur, bakteri dan parasite. Kulit merupakan pelindung beberapa organ yang ada di dalam tubuh dan bagian tubuh yang cukup sensitive terhadap beberapa penyakit. Penyuluhan yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kepedulian masyarakat Desa Limbangan Kec. Wanareja Kab. Cilacap Jawa Tengah untuk tetap menjaga kebersihan dan lingkungan sekitar serta pengobatan dari penyakit infeksi kulit. Pelaksanaan kegiatan penyuluhan yang dilakukan berupa pemaparan materi dan pre-test serta post-test pemahaman mengenai penyakit infeksi kulit Peserta kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat posyandu lestari 06 Dusun Saungluhur Desa Limbangan. Hasil test sebelum pemaparan materi memiliki nilai rata-rata 75.45 sedangkan setelah pemaparan materi menjadi 96.82. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pengetahuan masyarakat posyanda antara sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan penyuluhan. Penyuluhan menganai pemberian penyakit infeksi kulit memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat setempat. Kata Kunci: Penyakit, Kulit, Kesehatan, Penyuluhan  ABSTRACT Skin infections are skin diseases caused by microorganisms such as viruses, fungi, bacteria, and parasites. The skin is a protector of several organs in the body and parts of the body that are quite sensitive to several diseases. Counseling was carried out to increase the knowledge and awareness of the community to maintain cleanliness and the surrounding environment as well as treatment for skin infections. Implementation of counseling activities carried out in the form of presentation of material and an understanding test about skin infections. The test results before the presentation of the material had an average value of 75.45 while after the presentation of the material it became 96.82. There was a significant difference in the community's knowledge between before and after the extension activities. Education regarding the treatment of skin infections provides increased knowledge of the local community. Keywords: Disease, Skin, Health, Counseling

Abstract

Poor aqueous solubility limits the bioavailability of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like mefenamic acid. This study aims to improve the solubility and dissolution of mefenamic acid through crystalline solid dispersions using solvent evaporation and co-grinding techniques with selected co-formers. Solid dispersions were formulated at different drug-to-co-former ratios (1:1, 1:2, and 2:1) and characterized using differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and powder X-ray diffraction. DSC results revealed reduced crystallinity, indicated by the disappearance of melting peaks and the appearance of a single glass transition temperature. FTIR analysis confirmed hydrogen bonding between the drug and co-former, while PXRD patterns showed a loss of long-range order, supporting the formation of amorphous phases. Dissolution testing demonstrated a significant increase in drug release, particularly in the 1:2 formulation, which outperformed the pure drug and other ratios. These results confirm that the choice of preparation method and co-former ratio critically influence the performance of solid dispersions. This study provides valuable insights into the design of improved oral formulations for poorly soluble drugs, contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical technology

Abstract

Poor solubility and inadequate flowability of active pharmaceutical ingredients are significant challenges in developing solid oral dosage forms, particularly for BCS Class II drugs such as atorvastatin calcium. This study aimed to improve the micromeritic and dissolution properties of atorvastatin through spherical crystallization using quasi-emulsion solvent diffusion. Methanol was used as a good solvent, dichloromethane as a bridging liquid, water as a poor solvent, and HPMC E50 as a polymeric stabilizer. Spherical agglomerates were prepared and characterized for morphology (SEM); crystallinity (DSC and PXRD); chemical compatibility (FTIR); micromeritic parameters; and dissolution performance. The crystallization process transformed irregular atorvastatin crystals into smooth spherical agglomerates with significantly enhanced flow properties, as evidenced by increased flow rate and improved angle of repose, bulk density, and compressibility index. FTIR analysis confirmed no chemical interaction with HPMC, while PXRD and DSC indicated reduced crystallinity. Dissolution studies showed spherical atorvastatin exhibited superior release, reaching over 80% in 30 minutes, compared with 51% for raw atorvastatin. In conclusion, spherical crystallization effectively improved the physicochemical and micromeritic properties of atorvastatin calcium, offering a promising approach for enhancing its manufacturability and oral bioavailability.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Dermatitis merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan kulit yang sering terjadi pada remaja akibat kurangnya pengetahuan serta belum optimalnya penerapan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa mengenai pencegahan dermatitis melalui edukasi kesehatan kulit. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dengan pendekatan pretest dan posttest pada 35 siswa SMP N 1 Puspahiang. Kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi terkait jenis, penyebab, gejala, serta pencegahan dermatitis yang dikombinasikan dengan diskusi interaktif. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan, ditandai dengan peningkatan rata-rata nilai dari 68,83 ± 6,67 menjadi 89,37 ± 6,39 dengan nilai p sebesar 0,026 (p0,05). Edukasi kesehatan kulit terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa terkait pencegahan dermatitis. Disarankan agar kegiatan edukasi dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dan terintegrasi dengan program PHBS di sekolah. Kata Kunci: Edukasi Kesehatan Kulit, Dermatitis, Siswa, Pengetahuan, PHBS. ABSTRACT Dermatitis is a common skin health problem among adolescents due to limited knowledge and inadequate implementation of clean and healthy lifestyle behaviors (PHBS). This activity aimed to improve students' knowledge regarding dermatitis prevention through skin health education. The method used was counseling with a pretest and posttest approach involving 35 students of SMP N 1 Puspahiang. The activity included delivering materials on types, causes, symptoms, and prevention of dermatitis, followed by interactive discussions. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, indicated by an increase in the average score from 68.83 ± 6.67 to 89.37 ± 6.39 with a p-value of 0.026 (p0.05). Skin health education is effective in improving students' knowledge regarding dermatitis prevention. It is recommended that such programs be implemented continuously and integrated with school-based PHBS programs. Keywords : skin health education, dermatitis, students, knowledge, PHBS
