Abstract

School as a place of learning should be a place to develop students' interests and talents. The important thing in developing students' interests and talents is to have an awareness of their interests and talents. This awareness will lead him to strategic choices in the future related to the chosen field of study, a conducive learning environment and the choice of profession according to his interests and talents. Knowledge of these interests and talents needs to be facilitated by schools, parents and the community. This study aims to determine the application of utilizing students' interests and talents in improving student learning outcomes. This type of research includes qualitative research and uses descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study can be said that the implementation of the utilization of interests and talents is carried out when students register and choose the majors of interest. Students also choose intra and extracurricular activities to support their interests and talents. In addition, students are also asked to fill out a student needs questionnaire as a basis for counseling services. However, at the implementation level, the use of interest has not been accompanied by a special aptitude test to support student interest.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the management of counseling guidance in dealing with student delinquency in MTs Negeri 1 Banjarmasin City. Of the many student delinquency behaviors that occur at MTs Negeri 1 Banjarmasin City, the triggering factor is dominated by the influence of close friends, environment, and existence in the eyes of their friends. This study uses a qualitative case study type method. The data collection technique was carried out through interviews with the head of the madrasa, deputy head of the madrasa, counseling teachers and students, observation, and documentation. The data analysis is carried out in stages, starting from data presentation, data reduction, and concluding. The results showed that the planning of counseling guidance was based on the needs of students, parents, and madrasas, which was carried out systematically. Meanwhile, the implementation is carried out by referring to the standards set by the madrasa. The evaluation is carried out regularly every month, semester, and yearly to determine the extent of the success and obstacles of the guidance program. Through planned and systematic counseling, students will have a good and superior personality.

Abstract

Kesejahteraan psikologis merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan remaja, yang dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya adalah dukungan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara strategi dukungan sosial dan kesejahteraan psikologis siswa kelas XI di SMAN 11 Banjarmasin. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Instrumen penelitian berupa skala Likert pada dua variabel, yaitu strategi dukungan sosial dan kesejahteraan psikologis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara strategi dukungan sosial dan kesejahteraan psikologis, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p 0,05). Koefisien korelasi Pearson sebesar 0,518 menunjukkan hubungan positif dalam kategori sedang. Artinya, semakin baik strategi dukungan sosial yang diterima siswa, maka semakin tinggi pula kesejahteraan psikologis yang mereka rasakan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa dukungan sosial yang diberikan secara emosional, informasional, maupun instrumental berperan penting dalam membentuk ketangguhan mental dan kesejahteraan individu. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya membangun lingkungan sosial yang suportif di sekolah dan keluarga guna menjaga kesehatan mental remaja. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan kesejahteraan psikologis. Semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang diterima, semakin tinggi pula kesejahteraan psikologis individu.

Abstract

In order to have a clear career direction and career goals, vocational high school students have to think rationally. They need a strategy to realize the desired career dream. This study focuses on how the implementation of career guidance and counseling as well as analysis of Strength Weakness Opportunity Threat (SWOT) on the implementation of career guidance and counseling and strategies undertaken by Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Syuhada Banjarmasin. The research method used is case study with data mining technique through observation, interview and documentation. The participants were 32 students, two school counselor, one headmaster and one deputy headmaster. The results show that: (1) the implementation of career guidance and counseling in Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Syuhada Banjarmasin is very supportive for a quality career; (2) SWOT analysis is helpful in conducting quality career guidance and counseling services; (3) school counselor’s strategies are effective and efficient. Suggestions aimed at school counselor in order to compile and implement programs based on SWOT analysis, so they can implement a quality career guidance and counseling service.

Abstract

Marriage readiness is a critical factor in ensuring long-term relationship satisfaction and resilience. In Indonesia, challenges such as rising cases of domestic violence and marital instability highlight the urgent need for more effective premarital counseling programs. However, existing interventions often lack cultural sensitivity, particularly in multicultural societies like Indonesia, which encompasses over 300 ethnic groups. This study examines the effectiveness of a culturally-informed premarital counseling program based on Banjar marital customs in enhancing marital readiness. A randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted with 32 engaged individuals divided into an experimental group receiving Banjar-based counseling and a control group participating in the government’s standard premarital counseling. The marriage readiness scale was used to measure psychological preparedness across domains such as communication, financial management, parenting, and lifestyle adjustments. Statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test revealed significant improvements in the experimental group (U = 16.000, Z = -5.899, p < 0.001) compared to the control group. The findings underscore the importance of integrating local cultural values into premarital counseling to enhance mental readiness for marriage. By fostering deeper connections to cultural traditions, the intervention promoted mutual respect, emotional maturity, and role preparedness among participants. This study contributes to the growing discourse on culturally-informed psychosocial interventions and offers a scalable model for multicultural societies across Asia and beyond.
