Abstract

This research’s purpose is to determine the impact of perceived organizational support and work from home on the work-life balance of employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used was the survey method. It took 30 respondents as samples from Gramedia TSM – Bandung by using a non-probability sampling method with a saturated sampling technique. A descriptive and verificative survey was the research type used in this study. The data were processed with multiple regression analyses. The research result showed that perceived organizational support, work from home, and work-life balance are on a good level. The hypothesis testing showed that work from home has a positive and significant effect on work-life balance partially. Perceived organizational support has also a significant and positive effect on work-life balance. Both of them, work from home and perceived organizational support affect work-life balance simultaneously. This study concluded that perceived organizational support and work from home were two significant predictors to construct work-life balance. This information is useful for the company in evaluating the work-life balance of employees through the implementation of work from home and perceived organizational support.

Abstract

Three technical steps of data collection were used in testing that involved over 100 students: observations, questionnaires, and interviews. After processing, all of the data is collected into a dataset that is kept in the chatbot application database. Obtaining up-to-date information about class schedules, communication science resources, and other academic matters is crucial for students. Therefore, this project intends to provide an accurate and up-to-date source of information by using AI chatbots with the NLP approach, making it easier for students to acquire the material they need. In the exam scenario, each student is required to respond to a minimum of five questions that follow the topics covered in Communication Science curriculum. These questions are processed using the application provided to produce predictions of possible relevant answers. The results of the answers from the chatbot are used to create a comparison matrix between the percentage of chatbot usage and the verification team. The verification team approves all output from the chatbot. Based on the comparison, it can be inferred that the verification team's output percentage was 100%, but the chatbot's production percentage was 95%.

Abstract

Dalam konteks pesatnya perkembangan pengguna media sosial di Indonesia, khususnya Twitter, data yang dihasilkan memberikan informasi berharga untuk penelitian dan pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasikan tweet berbahasa Indonesia ke dalam kategori positif, negatif, dan netral. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa metode Decision Tree memiliki rata-rata presisi kelas yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan K-nearest neighbour (K-NN) dan Naïve Bayes. Algoritma K-NN memiliki rata-rata presisi kelas sebesar 54.60%, Decision Tree mencapai 72.85%, dan Naïve Bayes sebesar 47.66%. Selain itu, penggunaan Decision Tree menghasilkan presisi yang tinggi untuk kelas Negatif (90,00%) dan kelas Positif (81,82%) .

Abstract

Students in second grade at SMP Karya Pembangunan  Baros Bandung, a private school in Bandung, should be able to comprehend descriptive text based on the 2013 English syllabus curriculum. The researchers used Read Cover, Remember Retell (RCRR) to teach descriptive text reading comprehension to first-grade students at SMP KP Baros Bandung Junior High School. This study aimed to compare the impact of the Read Cover, Remember Retell (RCRR) approach on reading comprehension and recall of text among students taught without it. This research used a quasi-experimental method. The population consisted of 60 first-grade pupils from SMP KP Baros Bandung. The research sample comprised 30 students from VIIA (experimental) and 30 from VIIB (control). Data was collected through reading tests, pre-tests, and post-tests. Data analysis techniques include T-tests, U-Mann Whitney, and N-gain. The study indicated that the experimental class had a higher n-gain average score (0.425) than the control class's 0.315. The experimental class showed greater improvement than the control class. In conclusion, the Read Cover, Remember Retell (RCRR) technique improves students' reading comprehension of second-grade descriptive material at SMP KP Baros Bandung.

Abstract

One of the important nutrients in the process of plant growth is nitrogen (N), the provision of sufficient and balanced nitrogen nutrients can also optimize plant growth during the vegetative phase. This experiment was conducted in the Greenhouse of Singaperbangsa University Karawang campus located at Jl. HS. Ronggo Waluyo, East Telukjambe District, Karawang Regency.  The experiment was conducted from September 2023 to December 2023. The experimental method used is the experimental method, using a single-factor Randomized Group Design (RAK) consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replicates consisting of A (0.91 g/polybag), B (1.36 g/polybag), C (1.82 g/polybag), D (2.27 g/polybag). The effect of treatment was analyzed by variance analysis and if the F test at the 5% level was significant, then to find out the best treatment, it was continued with the Smallest Real Difference (BNT) further test at the 5% real level. The results achieved from this study were that there was no effect of N fertilizer application on the growth of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) D x P Yangambi variety in the main nursery. The treatment of N fertilizer dose in treatment B (1.36 g / polybag) gave the highest results in the parameters of plant height, number of leaflets per midrib, length of leaflets, and length of midrib but not significantly different from other treatments. Keywords: main nursery, fertilization, N fertilizer, oil palm, yangambi variety

Abstract

This research aims to determine the growth of Brassica plant species under various planting media. The study was conducted in a room at Building A, Faculty of Agriculture, Campus 2, Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang, in Margasari Village, East Karawang District, Karawang Regency, West Java. The experiment took place from April to May 2024. The research method employed a Randomized Block Design with a factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor is the Brassica family (t), divided into three levels, while the second factor is the planting media (m), also divided into three levels. There were a total of nine treatments, each repeated three times, resulting in 27 experimental units. Each unit contained seven plant samples. The effects of treatments were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and if the F-test at the 5% significance level was significant, a post hoc Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was conducted. The experimental results showed an interaction between Brassica family and planting media on growth parameters, including plant height growth rate, leaf emergence age, fresh weight, and dry weight. Cabbage plants grown in soil yielded the best results in terms of fresh weight, while purple cabbage plants grown in cocopeat media performed best in terms of dry weight. Radish plants grown in peatmoss media exhibited the best growth rate, leaf emergence age, fresh weight, and dry weight. Broccoli plants grown in soil showed the best results in terms of leaf emergence age, while broccoli plants in cocopeat media excelled in fresh weight.

Abstract

The diminishing amount of land available for agriculture and the growing demand for nutritious food have made it necessary to find alternative sources of fresh vegetables. Urban farming, especially the cultivation of microgreens, can help meet this demand. Microgreens offer several advantages, such as time and cost savings, and they require minimal space while growing quickly. However, the optimal spacing for different types of microgreens is not extensively documented, as research on microgreens is still limited in Indonesia. The Brassicaceae family is one of the most commonly cultivated families for microgreens. This study was carried out at Room A, Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa Karawang University, Campus 2. The experimental method used was a factorial randomized block design (RBD Factorials) with two treatments for varieties and three for spacing, repeated five times, resulting in 30 experimental units. Factor I, Varieties, consisted of v1 (Tosakan) and v2 (Shinta). Factor II, Spacing, consisted of j1 (1 cm x 1 cm), j2 (1 cm x 2 cm), and j3 (2 cm x 2 cm). The data were analyzed using an analysis of variance (Uji F) at a 5% level. If the results of the analysis of variance were significantly different, the study continued with a multiple range test (DMRT) at a 5% level to determine the best-performing treatment. There was an interaction between the treatments for microgreen varieties and spacing on parameters such as plant density, dry weight of the plant, and fresh weight. There was a significant effect of the variety on the parameter of chlorophyll content, and a significant effect of spacing on the parameters of plant growth rate and the age of leaf appearance. Additional types of plants are needed to determine significant differences related to spacing and their interactions.

Abstract

This article investigates the impact of employing the Cubing Strategy in the first semester students of the English Language Education Study Program while teaching writing, specifically report texts. According to the authors' teaching experience, many students struggle with creating report texts. They have difficulty on how to compose report text. In light of this issue, the lecturer must employ an engaging technique in the teaching and learning process to help students comprehend how to create the text. Cubing technique is a creative, hands-on practice that fosters critical thinking, promotes a greater grasp of a topic, and encourages in-depth investigation of it. It employs a cube-shaped visual organizer to encourage students to examine a topic from multiple perspectives. On each face of a cube, the learner writes responses to questions or suggestions. Applying the Cubing Strategy to the production of a report text can aid students in gaining a deeper grasp of the issue through the use of six viewpoints that are pertinent to the subject, enabling them to produce a quality report text. This mixed-methods study involving 48 first-semester English language Education students examined the use of the cubing strategy to the acquisition of report writing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of the cubing technique on students' report writing skill and their perceptions of its implementation. The statistical evidence indicated a significant difference in the students' writing scores on the students' report text writing pre-test (M=48.75) and post-test (M=70.93,  the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted because the p-value was less than 0.05, which encapsulates that the students' report text writing was improved. The qualitative findings also revealed students' perspectives of the adoption of the cubing technique, it was discovered that the technique improved students' writing skills, learning motivations, and language development for a variety of skills, such as reading and vocabulary enhancement. Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of Instagram as a tool for improving students' descriptive text writing skills. Conducted at SMPN 1 Cimaung from July 24 to August 10, 2023, the research involved 30 eighth-grade students. Using a pre-experimental design with a single group, the study assessed the impact of Instagram on students' writing performance through tests and questionnaires. The findings reveal a significant improvement in students' writing skills, with the t-test showing a higher value than the t-table (3.764 > 2.045). Additionally, 90% of students reported enjoying learning English, and 80% favored using Instagram for writing. These results suggest that Instagram is an effective tool for enhancing writing skills and engaging students in learning. This study not only adds to the growing body of research on digital tools in education but also provides practical insights into the integration of social media into language learning

Abstract

Dengan semakin berkembangnya teknologi digital, perusahaan pariwisata dituntut untuk tidak hanya mengandalkan strategi pemasaran konvensional, tetapi juga memanfaatkan potensi digital marketing. Selain itu, kualitas pelayanan yang baik tetap menjadi faktor penting dalam mempertahankan kepuasan konsumen. Penelitian ini akan mengkaji bagaimana kedua variabel tersebut saling berinteraksi dan memberikan kontribusi terhadap kepuasan pelanggan, dengan fokus pada perusahaan Discovery Tour & Travel. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif verifikatif dengan analisis regresi linear berganda, melalui teknik sampling non probability dengan teknik purpoisve sampling. Menggunakan 100 responden pada konsumen discovery tour & travel (konsumen yang sudah menggunakan jasa discovery tour & travel lebih dari 2 kali) melalui bantuan software SPSS 26.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Digital Marketing sesuai dengan harapan konsumen, hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar pihak travel lebih memperhatikan pelayanan yang sudah dijanjikan kepada konsumen atau pelanggan sehingga dapat meningkatkan kepuasan konsumen
