Abstract

The utilization of waste materials in concrete production is gaining significant attention as a means to mitigate environmental issues and promote sustainable construction practices. This study investigates the potential of waste glass powder (WGP) as a partial replacement for cement in concrete. The aim is to evaluate the effects of WGP on the properties and performance of concrete, with a focus on enhancing sustainability and reducing the environmental impact associated with cement production. The experimental investigation involved preparing concrete mixtures with varying proportions of WGP, ranging from 10% to 25%, as a partial replacement for cement. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the substitution of 20%WGP) for cement is the optimal dosage. The results of various tests and evaluations show that the concrete has desirable properties and performance characteristics at this level of replacement. This 20% substitution ratio strikes a balance between maintaining adequate compresive strength and improving the concrete's sustainability. In conclusion, the incorporation of WGP as a partial replacement for cement in concrete shows promises as an environmentally friendly and sustainable approach. Further research and optimization of mix proportions are recommended to maximize the benefits of utilizing WGP in concrete and promote its widespread application in the construction industry.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that influence the performance of operational and maintenance costs in the DI irrigation network. Paguyaman. To achieve this goal, the researchers used a survey method by distributing questionnaires to a number of respondents who were involved in the implementation and monitoring of DI irrigation networks. Paguyaman. Data collection was carried out by way of a direct survey to the location and a list of questions in the questionnaire for primary data. As for the secondary data obtained from the literature and data from related agencies. Based on the results of the questionnaire from the respondents, a ranking was made of the causal factors that affect the performance of operational and maintenance costs in the DI irrigation network. Paguyaman. From the ranking results, there are 15 factors that are categorized as influential. The conclusions that can be drawn after statistical tests are that there are seven factors that influence the performance of operational costs and maintenance of irrigation networks in D.I Paguyaman. These factors are unexpected conditions and events (floods, earthquakes and others), general information and methods in carrying out operations and maintenance for field officers are inadequate, there is still a lack of responsibility for officers in carrying out irrigation operations and maintenance, changes in areas that encouraging the conversion of paddy fields to other users, the number of operational and maintenance officers is still lacking, the equipment is of poor quality and there is no training for P3A, and the most dominant factors affecting the performance of operational costs and maintenance of irrigation networks in D.I Paguyaman are conditions and events that unexpected events (floods, earthquakes, etc.).

Abstract

Forensik engineering merupakan bidang multidisiplin dalam teknik yang berperan penting dalam mengidentifikasi penyebab kegagalan struktur, infrastruktur, maupun sistem rekayasa. Namun demikian, pemahaman mahasiswa teknik terhadap konsep dan penerapan forensik engineering masih relatif terbatas, khususnya di lingkungan Universitas Gorontalo. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kompetensi mahasiswa teknik melalui sosialisasi dan pengenalan forensik engineering sebagai bagian dari penguatan kapasitas akademik dan profesional. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi secara interaktif, diskusi studi kasus kegagalan struktur, serta evaluasi pemahaman peserta melalui kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Sasaran kegiatan adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Teknik Universitas Gorontalo dari berbagai program studi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep dasar, ruang lingkup, dan peran forensik engineering dalam dunia keteknikan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga menumbuhkan kesadaran mahasiswa akan pentingnya aspek keselamatan, etika profesi, dan tanggung jawab insinyur dalam praktik rekayasa. Dengan demikian, sosialisasi dan pengenalan forensik engineering terbukti efektif sebagai upaya peningkatan kompetensi mahasiswa teknik dan diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan kurikulum maupun kegiatan akademik lanjutan di Universitas Gorontalo.
