Abstract

This study aimed to highlight the view of educators on the teachers’ willingness to change in adapting to online learning due to the Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID -19) pandemic. The sudden shifting required readiness to facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning interactions. The results of previous studies on the dissatisfaction with the online learning quality during the pandemic triggered this study. Teachers preferred to use task-based learning and resisted incorporating technology in the learning process. The limited literature provided a study gap investigated in the present study. Therefore, the real-time virtual focus group discussions were carried out to obtain viewpoints about teachers’ willingness to change in which 31 participants, including teachers, principals, and supervisors, shared their viewpoints. Moreover, dynamic discussions were conducted through brainstorming using Mentimeter, collecting viewpoints via zoom poll, and discussion engagements in the primary and breakout rooms. Content analysis revealed three categories: willingness to learn, try, and be open. The result provided novelty essential as a new perspective and proposed possible solutions to address the problems shifting from regular to online learning in Indonesia. Finally, this study recommends future investigation of teachers’ willingness to change as a new concept of professional development in establishing quality learning.

Abstract

Ethnic restaurants are currently a fascinating topic, as they promote specific ethnic cultures and provide customers with a chance to try something new and different. Ethnic restaurants often offer flavours that are truly representative of a certain culture. This research investigates the factors that influence customer perceived value in Japanese ethnic restaurants. Data were collected through an online survey completed by customers who had visited a Japanese ethnic restaurant, Marugame Udon, in Indonesia. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) was applied to test the hypotheses. The findings of this study demonstrate that food quality, employee service quality, and price fairness positively affect customers’ perceived value. In contrast, the dining atmospheric quality and restaurant authenticity do not affect customers' perceived value. Studies on customer perceived value in ethnic Japanese restaurants are still incredibly rare in the literature., especially in Indonesia and Malaysia. Thus, this study aims to fill that gap, providing valuable insights for future research and restaurant management.JEL Classification: M10, M11, M21How to Cite:Urdianti, D., Qamari, I.N., & Hasan, W. Abstract

Studying innovative work behaviour in the Industrial Age 4.0 is an interesting research issue. Using an internal locus of control as a moderator, this study seeks to understand how transformational leadership and organisational climate might promote innovative work behaviour. One hundred and twenty-five respondents participated in this quantitative research, where they were selected based on a purposive sampling method. A cross-sectional survey was conducted to collect the data utilising established instruments looking into the perspectives of the respondents about transformational leadership, organisational climate, innovative work behaviour, and internal locus of control. Data analyses were conducted using SPSS 24 version, where descriptive and inferential analyses, multiple linear analysis and moderated regression analysis (MRA) were undertaken. Based on the analysis, the study's results showed that transformational leadership has a negative and small impact on innovative work behaviour. Organisational climate and internal locus of control were found to positively and moderately impact innovative work behaviour. However, the internal locus of control is needed to moderate the impact of transformational leadership on innovative work behaviour. Based on these results, the hotel industry needs to consider transformational leadership attitudes to create innovative behaviour in human resources, especially in this industry. In addition, it is hoped that future research in this area can be focused on different types of job and gender to produce even better results.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This research explores Dynamic Adaptive Capability to achieve Team Performance in higher education institutions, focusing on the challenges posed by a rapidly changing global environment. The study emphasizes the importance of dynamic adaptability as a mediating variable, connecting Authentic Leadership and Justice Climate as key elements influencing Team Performance. Background Problems: The main question of this research is whether Authentic Leadership improves Team Performance through Dynamic Adaptive Capability. The urgency of this research in Indonesia's higher education context is critical, considering that the ever-changing global environment demands rapid and effective adaptation to remain competitive and relevant. Novelty: Empirical evidence explaining how Authentic Leadership can improve Team Performance in Indonesian higher education still needs to be explored. Therefore, research that finds this mechanism is still required and adds Dynamic Adaptive Capability as a mediator. Research Methods: This research collected a survey of the Head of the Study Program as a team representative, used purposive sampling, and utilized AMOS SEM analysis to test the hypothesis. Finding/Results: The research shows that Authentic Leadership positively impacts Dynamic Adaptive Capability and Team Performance. Meanwhile, Justice Climate has no relationship with Team Performance but positively impacts Dynamic Adaptive Capability. Dynamic Adaptive Capability positively mediates Authentic Leadership and Team Performance while negatively mediating Justice Climate and Team Performance. Conclusion: In addition to supporting several hypotheses, this research also highlights the complex and diverse nature of these relationships, prompting recommendations for strategic planning and further investigation to deepen our understanding of the dynamics in organizational environments.

Abstract

Communication is needed in every company activity as a means that can encourage employees to improve performance. Apart from communication, the lack of positive Human Resources (HR) initiatives within the company can result in alienation among employees. It is important for organizations to combine communication and the effectiveness of HR practices into one coherent form in facing challenges and improving employee work performance. Individual Work Performance (IWP) in a company is an important aspect for leaders in the process of achieving company goals. Individual Work Performance (IWP) measurements need to be carried out periodically to find out whether the business is achieving company goals and as a benchmark for making improvements to achieve the set goals. This research aims to analyze the influence of employee communication and the perceived effectiveness of HR initiatives on Individual Work Performance (IWP), which consists of three main elements, namely task performance, contextual performance and counterproductive work behavior. The method in this research is quantitative research using a questionnaire totaling 100 respondents with data processing using SmartPLS. The subjects in this research were employees of the Gunungkidul Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office. The results of the analysis in this study show that employee communication is proven to influence all elements of Individual Work Performance, namely task performance, contextual performance and counterproductive work behavior, whereas the perceived effectiveness of HR initiatives is proven to only influence one element of Individual Work Performance, namely contextual performance.

This study advances the conversation of ethical leadership and ethical culture on employee performance, with voice behavior as a mediator. This study distributed 350 questionnaires to construction company employees in Bantul, Indonesia, and obtained a 153-response rate (43.71%). Structural equation modeling with Amos software is used to analyze the coded information. This study found a substantial link between ethical leadership, ethical culture, and voice behavior in increasing employee performance. Furthermore, voice behavior was discovered to mediate in both relationships. The finding implies a critical need to maintain positive conversations inside firms as they are part of job satisfaction indicators.
