Abstract

Background: Hypertension remains a leading global health concern in both developed and developing countries. In Indonesia, the prevalence of hypertension reached 35.9% in West Java in 2018. Beyond pharmacological approaches, complementary therapies such as autogenic relaxation enhanced with classical music have shown promise in managing blood pressure. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of autogenic relaxation therapy using Mozart music on systolic and diastolic blood pressure among patients with primary hypertension. Methods: A pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The study involved 36 participants with primary hypertension, selected through non-probability purposive sampling. The intervention consisted of autogenic relaxation therapy accompanied by Mozart music for 15 to 20 minutes per session, administered over three consecutive days. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate statistical methods. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to assess changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after the intervention. Results: The mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure before the intervention were 144.17 mmHg and 90.56 mmHg, respectively. After the intervention, mean systolic pressure decreased to 126.67 mmHg, and diastolic pressure to 82.22 mmHg. A significant difference was observed in both systolic and diastolic readings (p < 0.001), indicating the effectiveness of the intervention. Conclusion: Autogenic relaxation therapy using Mozart music demonstrated a significant reduction in blood pressure and may serve as an effective complementary therapy in the management of hypertension.

Abstract

Aims : Effective communication is the main elements of patient safety goals because communication is the first cause of patient safety problems. Effective communication must be built on aspects of clarity, accuracy, in accordance with the context of language and information, systematic flow, and culture. This study looks at whether there is an effect of SISBAR communication than SBAR on effective communication between nurses and doctors during consultations or handovers Design : Observational study to 20 nurses as Nurse incharge at Ruby Barat and Timur in SHBC (Santosa Hospital Bandung Central), with Observational Chart of SISBAR in 1 month observation. Methods : This research method uses a quasi-experimental pre and post by using an observational study.  The statistical analysis test using the Wilcoxon non-parametric test. Results : The results of the statistical analysis test using the Wilcoxon non-parametric test obtained p-Value: 0.002 (< 0.05), meaning that there was an significant effect of SISBAR communication on effective communication than SBAR between nurses and doctors in SHBC Bandung. Conclusions : The results of this study indicate that SISBAR communication is more effective to be applied than SBAR. In SBAR even though there is an element of the introduction, but because it is not mentioned in the abbreviation, nurses often forget about the introduction (aspects of introducing themselves and who is speaking). Therefore, SISBAR can be an alternative in handover communication between nurses and doctors in hospitals. SISBAR communication with the development of SBAR, ISBAR to SISBAR can be developed in others hospitals and in Indonesia generally

Abstract

Background: The implementation of the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (IDHS) in clinical practice continues to encounter obstacles, including limited time for assessment, documentation burden, and inconsistency in diagnostic interpretation among nurses. Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) offer opportunities to design clinical decision support systems that may enhance the accuracy, uniformity, and efficiency of nursing diagnoses. Objective: This study aimed to explore nurses’ experiences, challenges, and expectations regarding the use of IDHS and to assess the initial feasibility of developing an AI-based system to support standardized nursing diagnoses. Methods: A descriptive qualitative design was employed using in-depth interviews with five nurses from diverse clinical settings, including emergency, critical care, inpatient, outpatient, and community services. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify perceptions and needs related to IDHS and AI. Content validity of the preliminary system design was evaluated by three expert validators using the Item-Level Content Validity Index (I-CVI) and the Scale-Level Content Validity Index/Average (S-CVI/Ave). Results: Five major themes emerged: (1) varied experiences in formulating nursing diagnoses, (2) inconsistent use of IDHS in practice, (3) challenges related to documentation and diagnostic interpretation, (4) positive attitudes toward AI integration in clinical workflows, and (5) the need for features such as automated diagnostic suggestions, clarification of clinical criteria, and integration with electronic medical records. Content validity testing demonstrated strong agreement among experts, with I-CVI values ranging from 0.80 to 1.00 and an S-CVI/Ave of 0.92. Conclusion: The study indicates that integrating AI into the IDHS-based diagnostic process holds substantial potential to improve diagnostic quality, standardization, and clinical efficiency. The content validity results support further development and prototype testing in subsequent research phases

Abstract

Background: Healthcare malpractice remains a critical issue that threatens patient safety and undermines public trust in health systems, particularly within nursing practice. Increasing clinical complexity, ethical challenges, and technological integration have intensified the need for well-prepared nurses. Consequently, nursing education must incorporate effective training strategies to reduce malpractice risk and enhance safe care delivery. Objective: This scoping review aimed to map and synthesize existing evidence on educational strategies for malpractice prevention in nursing education. Methods: The review was conducted following the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and the PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines. A comprehensive literature search was performed using PubMed, CINAHL, ERIC, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2015 to 2025. Eligible studies focused on nursing education, malpractice prevention, and specialized or innovative training approaches. Data were systematically extracted, appraised using established tools, and analyzed through thematic synthesis. Results: Fifteen studies met the inclusion criteria. The findings identified diverse educational strategies, including simulation-based learning, gamification, case-based discussions, and digital health technologies. These approaches were associated with improved clinical competence, ethical judgment, and student engagement. However, variability in training duration and limited long-term outcome evaluation were noted across studies. Conclusion: Specialized, evidence-based training within nursing education is essential for reducing malpractice risk and strengthening patient safety. Strategic integration of innovative methods, combined with sustained evaluation, may enhance nurses’ preparedness to address ethical and legal challenges in clinical practice
