Abstract

This research examines English language education at SMAN 1 Sutojayan Blitar using a qualitative case study. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, focusing on planning, organization, implementation, and assessment. The findings reveal that English teaching at the school is highly structured and effective. Key elements include detailed planning, diverse instructional methods, and a student-centered approach. The curriculum is regularly updated to align with students' skill levels, and clear role delegation, strong coordination, and efficient resource use contribute to a positive learning environment. The communicative approach, technology integration, and varied teaching techniques promote active student participation. A comprehensive assessment system provides continuous feedback, supporting learning progress. Overall, the study highlights the importance of holistic teaching strategies that enhance students' English-speaking skills and can serve as a model for improving English language education.

Abstract

Adanya permasalahan dalam kesulitan belajar matematika pada materi pembagian serta keterbatasan media pembelajaran sesuai kondisi saat ini yaitu pembelajaran online atau daring, sehingga siswa kesulitan memahami materi pembagian. Penelitian dan pengembangan bertujuan untuk (1) Mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran aplikasi pembagian (APEM). (2) Mengetahui keterbacaan media pembelajaran aplikasi pembagian (APEM). Penelitian yang digunakan termasuk jenis desain Research and Development (R&D).  Menurut Sugiyono (2017:407), model penelitian dan pengembangan terdiri  a) Potensi masalah, b) Pengumpulan data, c) Desain produk, d) Validasi desain, e) Revisi desain, f) Uji coba produk, g) Revisi produk. Jumlah populasi penelitian adalah 16 peseta didik yang berasal dari kelas III dan 9 pendidik di UPT SDN Kalimanis 02. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data mengunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil validasi dari 3 validator ahli materi mencapai 87.5% dengan kategori “Layak”. Hasil validasi dari 3 validator ahli media mencapai 85% dengan kategori “Layak”. Hasil validasi dari 3 validator ahli bahasa mencapai 93.33% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Berdasarkan angket keterbacaan media mendapat nilai 234 dari total maksimal nilai 250 sehingga mencapai persentase 93.6% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Sehingga dapat disampaikan media aplikasi pembagian (APEM) dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media penyampaian materi yang lebih menarik peserta didik untuk fokus dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study addresses the implementation of the flipped classroom in redefining the traditional learning process in higher education. The data were collected by observing the learning process of Advanced Listening course, which was set up in a flipped classroom mode. The data of observation showed that the steps in the flipped classroom were as follows: (1) learning the materials (beyond the classroom); (2) taking notes and preparing questions (beyond the classroom); (3) presenting the materials (inside the classroom); and (4) discussing the materials (inside the classroom). The findings suggest that educators should start flipping the classroom since it provides a lot of educational benefits.

Abstract

Abstract: This study discloses the phenomena of the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) technique to teach writing to 10th-grade students at SMAN 4 Blitar. The context of this study is based on students' lack of enthusiasm and motivation to write English, which is caused by a lack of literacy, poor writing habits, and inappropriate use of technology. This study aims to describe how TBLT is used, assess its success, and suggest the next steps to enhance students' writing skills. This study takes a descriptive qualitative method with a comprehensive single-case study design. Data were gathered via in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The data were thematically evaluated using Miles and Huberman's method, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that TBLT enhances students' participation, understanding, and writing skills through collaborative tasks and continuous feedback. The Ongoing evaluation also allows teachers to adjust teaching strategies according to the individual students’ needs Thus, TBLT has proven to be effective in creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment, significantly improving students' writing skills. This study reveals a model and proposition to be referenced for further studies and instructional practices.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the challenges students face in understanding recount texts, describe the methods teachers use to address these issues, analyze student-teacher interactions in the classroom, and assess the effectiveness of the strategies implemented to enhance student comprehension. Using a qualitative approach and a single case study method, the research involved teachers, school principals, and eighth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that eighth-grade students encounter several difficulties in understanding recount texts, including challenges with unfamiliar vocabulary, long sentences separated by commas, text structure, and words with affixes. Specifically, students struggle with new vocabulary, lengthy sentences that hinder comprehension, and the organization of events in the text. To address these issues, teachers employ various strategies. For vocabulary difficulties, students are encouraged to repeatedly read the text and look up unfamiliar words in the dictionary. To tackle long sentences separated by commas, they are taught to break the sentences into shorter parts, interpret each segment, and understand its context within the story. For text structure, the teacher provides detailed explanations, and for words with affixes, relevant examples of prefixes and suffixes are given. These strategies help create a positive and active classroom environment, contributing to improved student understanding of the material. The research demonstrates that the teacher's methods effectively enhance students' comprehension of recount texts. Keyword : Difficulties, Recount Text, Strategy, Model

Abstract

Bimo Bilawa media is a media development of Javanese language uploading and learning media to improve the ability of teachers and the spirit of learning for students in elementary schools. This research was conducted to process Bimo Bilawa media for Javanese language material at the elementary school level. This research is a research and development research that includes: (1) potentials and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, (6) product testing, (7) product revision. The subjects of the literacy test were 40 students in grades 4 and 5, as well as 4 teachers in grades 4 and 5 at SDN Sidodadi 4 and SDN Karangrejo 1. The data collection technique uses questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis techniques use quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results of the assessment of material experts received a percentage of 96% with a very feasible category. The results of the assessment of linguists and media experts obtained a percentage of 93% categorized as very feasible. In the readability test, the teacher obtained a percentage of 94.5%, which was categorized as very feasible. So that Bimo Bilawa media can help teachers in the learning process. In the readability test, students obtained a percentage of 99%, categorized as very feasible. The students seemed to enjoy the media equipped with sounds and graphic images, and they were excited to try learning with Bimo Bilawa media.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces challenges in improving student learning outcomes, especially in mathematics. Observations at UPT SDN 2 Pakunden show that even though the learning facilities are adequate, the lecture method applied still does not actively involve students. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether there is a significant impact of the use of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model combined with the demonstration method on student learning achievement in mathematics subjects. The method used is a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experiment design, Post-test Only Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 84 students in class V, who were divided into experimental and control groups. The results showed that the TSTS model with the demonstration method increased student involvement, confidence in presentation, and understanding of bar chart concepts.  This finding is based on the results of a hypothesis test with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.004 < 0.05 which is the basis for proving the effectiveness of the application of the model in mathematics learning.  This study recommends the application of the TSTS model with a demonstration method as a more interactive and engaging learning alternative that guarantees improved mathematics learning outcomes for students.

Abstract

Pengajaran IPAS di tingkat sekolah dasar masih menemui hambatan, salah satunya adalah materi yang sulit dipahami karena sifatnya tidak konkret, metode yang kurang variatif, serta keterbatasan media. Untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan partisipasi siswa, diperlukan pendekatan yang inovatif, interaktif, dan kolaboratif. Model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) menitikberatkan pada kerja sama tim dan tanggung jawab individu, sementara YouTube sebagai media pendukung menyajikan konten visual yang menarik guna mempermudah pemahaman materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji efektivitas penerapan metode NHT berbasis YouTube terhadap peningkatan capaian belajar IPAS siswa SD. Studi dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan desain eksperimen semu tipe Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 54 siswa kelas V yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, masing-masing berjumlah 27 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes akademik, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data mencakup uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji t dua sampel independen, serta perhitungan N-Gain. Hasil menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Rata-rata Posttest kelompok eksperimen naik dari 56,96 menjadi 75,56 (N-Gain 0,43 kategori sedang), sedangkan kelompok kontrol dari 59,52 menjadi 69,59 (N-Gain 0,25 kategori rendah). Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa pendekatan Numbered Heads Together yang didukung oleh media YouTube mampu meningkatkan pencapaian akademik siswa serta membangun lingkungan pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah PBL yang didukung media BOSIVA terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPAS di kelas V SDN Kanigoro 03. Permasalahan utama dalam studi ini berakar pada minimnya partisipasi aktif siswa dalam model pembelajaran konvensional yang didominasi oleh peran guru, yang berdampak pada belum optimalnya pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) menggunakan rancangan Nonequivalent Control Group Design yang melibatkan pengukuran awal (pretest) dan akhir (posttest). Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 44 peserta didik yang terbagi ke dalam dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 22 siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah (Problem-Based Learning) dengan dukungan media BOSIVA, serta kelompok kontrol yang juga berjumlah 22 siswa dan mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional tanpa intervensi khusus. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Pengolahan data dilakukan melalui pengujian statistik Independent Sample T-Test dengan dukungan perangkat lunak SPSS. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan adanya lonjakan signifikan dalam capaian kelompok perlakuan, di mana nilai rata-rata sebelum intervensi tercatat sebesar 62,27 dan meningkat menjadi 85,45 setelah perlakuan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,030, yang berada di bawah ambang batas 0,05, menandakan adanya perbedaan yang substansial antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang diperkaya dengan media BOSIVA terbukti mampu mengoptimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik secara efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan teknik Ice Breaking berbasis Wordwall terhadap penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Rendahnya penguasaan kosakata sering berdampak pada kurangnya keberanian dan motivasi siswa dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris, sehingga diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Subjek penelitian adalah 27 siswa kelas IV yang dipilih melalui teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes penguasaan kosakata, angket motivasi, serta lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji prasyarat (normalitas dan homogenitas) serta uji hipotesis dengan Paired Sample t-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa dari 60,37 pada Pretest menjadi 72,22 pada Posttest. Uji Paired Sample t-Test menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,003 (0,05), yang menegaskan terdapat perbedaan signifikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Selain itu, hasil angket memperlihatkan bahwa mayoritas siswa merasa lebih termotivasi dan lebih mudah memahami kosakata melalui permainan interaktif Wordwall, sehingga suasana kelas menjadi lebih aktif, menyenangkan, dan mendukung keberanian siswa dalam menggunakan bahasa Inggris sederhana. Dengan demikian, penerapan teknik Ice Breaking berbasis Wordwall terbukti efektif tidak hanya dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris, tetapi juga dalam menumbuhkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.
