Abstract

Salafi Islamic community has been negatively constructed as puritan, extreme, and exclusive group separated itself from the social space. This justification precludes possibility that Salafi groups can synergize with surrounding socio-religious conditions. This article reveals the socio-religious life among Salafi community of Ma’had Ittiba’us Salaf in Purwoasri Village, Metro City to maintain the Islamic Salafi concept and expanding network of its followers. The research methodology is qualitative using observation, interviews, and documentation studies to expose the Salafi movement. This study shows that the presence of Salafi in Purwosari can build good relations with other religious communities, both Muslims and non-Muslims (Chrisrtian). The synergy between Salafi Muslims and Christians in building a strong social construction in maintaining the peace values is facilitated by the FPKM organization. This study concludes that Salafi da’wah is not entirely around the radical activities and leads to violence. Salafis in Metro City use a lot of social networks, technology facilities, and local organizations to preach, be economically, and socially. Keywords: salafi, socio-religious construction, religious relation, tolerance Pandangan masyarakat tentang komunitas Islam Salafi telah terkonstruksi negatif sebagai kelompok puritan, ekstrim, dan ekslusif yang memisahkan dari lingkungan sosial. Justifikasi tersebut menutup kemungkinan Salafi dapat bersinergi dengan keberagaman sosial-keagamaan sekitarnya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap realitas kehidupan sosial-keagamaan komunitas Salafi Ma’had Ittiba’us Salaf di Kelurahan Purwoasri Kota Metro dalam mempertahankan konsep Islam Salafi dan memperluas jaringan pengikutnya. Metodologi penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan data observasi, interview, dan studi dokumentasi untuk menjelaskan gerakan Salafi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan Salafi di Purwoasri mampu membangun hubungan baik dengan komunitas kegamaan lainnya, baik Muslim maupun non-Muslim (Kristen). Sinergisitas antara Salafi dan Kristen dalam membangun konstruksi sosial yang kuat dalam menjaga nilai-nilai perdamaian difasilitasi dengan adanya Paguyuban FPKM. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ternyata dakwah Salafi tidak secara keseluruhan terkonsentrasi dengan aktivitas radikal dan mengarah kepada kekerasan. Salafi di Kota Metro banyak menggunakan jaringan sosial, fasilitas teknologi, dan bergabung dalam Paguyuban untuk berdakwah, berekonomi, dan bersosial. Artikel ini masih terbatas pada skala penelitian di kota Metro, sehingga masih sangat mungkin untuk dilengkapi oleh kajian pada tempat lain dengan skala dan pendekatan yang berbeda. Abstract

Pengetahuan perempuan yang terbatas membuat mereka sering menjadi objek dalam ruang domestik maupun publik. Kondisi ini memaksa perempuan untuk tunduk terhadap kebijakan yang bias gender. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk melihat dan menganalisa bagaimana pendidikan alternatif dioperasikan di dalam aktivitas pemberdayaan perempuan Payungi dan seperti apa kontribusi komunitas. Pendidikan alternatif berdasarkan uraian dari  Mills (Mills et al. 2016) dengan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dengan fleksibel memungkinkan seseorang kembali pada rutinitas belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan data-data observasi, interview dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan komunitas epistemik Payungi berperan dalam tiga hal, pertama, menghadirkan pendidikan alternatif-transformatif dengan mengoptimalkan peran Pesantren Wirausaha. Kedua, merekonstruksi paradigma berpikir perempuan (ibu rumah tangga) melalui dialog intra-religious. Ketiga, membangun kolaborasi dengan beberapa tokoh agama dan akademisi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendidikan alternatif melalui konsep pesantren wirausaha yang dijalankan secara transformatif dan mendasarkan pemahaman pada nilai-nilai agama dan ilmu pengetahuan selain mampu membangun pengetahuan, juga membangun kapabilitas dan akselerasi perempuan dalam merespon isu-isu global. Kata Kunci: pemberdayaan perempuan, komunitas epistemik, pendidikan alternatif, agama, sains   Limited knowledge of women makes them often become objects in domestic and public area. This condition forces women to submit to policies biased gender. This article aims to look at and analyze how alternative education operates within Payungi’s women’s empowerment activities and what the community’s contribution. Alternative education based on the description from Mills (Mills et al. 2016) with a conducive and flexible learning environment allows one to return to study routine. This research is qualitative research using observational data, interviews and documentation studies. This research shows that the Payungi epistemic community existence plays role in three ways, first, presenting alternative-transformative education by optimizing the Pesantren Wirausaha role. Second, reconstructing womens’s thinking paradigm (housewives) through intra-religious dialogue. Third, building collaboration with several religious leaders and academics. This research concludes that alternative education through the Pesantren Wirausaha concept is run in transformative manner and based on religious values and science understanding, besides can build knowledge, also build capabilities, and accelerate women in responding to global issues. Abstract

Abstract In recent decades, young people's political participation has emerged as a significant topic of political debate, given their role as agents of future social and political change. Many political actors conduct practical politics in a variety of ways to mobilize young people's choices. This research intends to explore young people's interest in political ideas that can cater to future requirements. This study used a hybrid method (quantitative and qualitative), combining survey data from 130 respondents, (samples were determined using the Lemeshow formula) and in-depth interviews with 12 Muslim and 3 non-Muslim. This study focuses on the perspectives of vulnerable young students aged 17 to 20 as first-time voters in Metro-Lampung. This study reveal that education and gender issues had a positive and significant influence on political interest of young people more than economic issues which many politicians campaign for public. It has been qualitatively proven that youths, both Muslims and non-Muslims, have a proclivity for gender and educational issues in making political choices. These findings imply that political ideas that are in line with the needs of young people and are a response to problems developing in society can influence youth political interest.
