Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia’s skincare industry is growing rapidly but faces major challenges such as intense competition, shifting consumer preferences, and regulatory dynamics. This article explores how the Smart Business Map (SBM) approach can be strategically applied in a plant-based, vegetarian-friendly skincare business. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the study examines three key SBM components: Playing Field, Market Landscape, and Operational Profitability. The findings reveal that SBM assists entrepreneurs in understanding their business position, formulating value-driven strategies aligned with market needs, and developing a strong, sustainable value proposition. Sales and customer retention strategies that focus on transparency, education, and community engagement prove effective in fostering consumer loyalty in a value-conscious and ethical market segment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to improving competitiveness of the small and medium scale footwear industries in Sooko District, Mojokerto through a multidimensional approach encompassing financial, social, and spiritual aspects. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Informants included five footwear producers and one representative from BSI Mojokerto. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's interactive model with source and method triangulation for data validity. The results reveal that BSI's contribution is holistic, not limited to financing through sharia contracts such as murābaḥah and muḍārabah, but also includes capacity building through financial management training, sustainable business mentoring, and sharia financial literacy improving competitiveness. BSI acts as a strategic partner to enhance managerial capacity, expand market access, and promote business sustainability among small-scale entrepreneurs. Findings show an average production capacity increase of 20-30%, and adoption of digital marketing technology among BSI-partnered businesses. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly in sharia literacy, digital access limitations, and financing procedure complexity. The study concludes that Islamic banks play a crucial role in strengthening an equitable and sustainable sharia economic ecosystem at the grassroots level through the implementation of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah values, particularly in preserving wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl) and life (ḥifẓ al-nafs).   Kata Kunci: Islamic Bank, Islamic Financing, Small and Medium Industries, Economic Empowerment

Abstract

This study explores the integration of ecotourism and smart agriculture as a strategic approach to strengthening the green economy and achieving local food sovereignty in Wonosalam Village, Jombang Regency, Indonesia. The research develops and validates a solar-powered smart durian farming system that integrates renewable energy, precision irrigation, organic fertilization, environmental sensing, Internet of Things (IoT) technology, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based decision support. The proposed system continuously monitors key environmental parameters, including soil moisture, temperature, humidity, solar radiation, and nutrient conditions, enabling real-time recommendations for irrigation, fertilization, and crop management. A mixed-methods approach combining field observations, stakeholder engagement, system validation, and performance evaluation was employed to assess the technological, environmental, and socio-economic impacts of the integrated model. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of intelligent farming technologies significantly improves durian productivity, optimizes water and energy utilization, reduces dependence on chemical fertilizers through organic nutrient management, and enhances farm operational efficiency. Simultaneously, the integration of interactive ecotourism activities, environmental education, and digital monitoring platforms creates additional income opportunities for local communities while increasing public awareness of sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation. The proposed model establishes a circular rural economy by connecting agricultural production, renewable energy utilization, environmental stewardship, tourism services, and local entrepreneurship within a single integrated ecosystem. Furthermore, the system strengthens community participation, promotes technology adoption among farmers, and enhances resilience against climate variability. The study concludes that combining smart agriculture with ecotourism provides a scalable and replicable rural development framework capable of supporting national green economy strategies, decentralized food sovereignty initiatives, sustainable tourism development, and long-term environmental sustainability in agricultural regions

Abstract

Global economic crises, geopolitical tensions, and fluctuations in international markets have generated significant uncertainty for the business sector. Many business actors have experienced decline and even bankruptcy; however, certain sectors have demonstrated remarkable resilience and sustained growth. This article aims to examine business resilience amid global crises through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates economic theory, organizational adaptation, and business law. Drawing on the grand theory of economic utilitarianism, this study argues that business sectors providing essential goods and services play a substantial role in social welfare and therefore tend to be more resilient during periods of crisis. Furthermore, through the middle-range theories of organizational adaptation and contingency, this article highlights flexibility, innovation, and the ability to respond to environmental changes as key determinants of business survival. From a legal perspective, compliance with business law, including consumer protection, electronic transactions, and regulatory certainty, should not be viewed as an obstacle, but rather as a stabilizing instrument that fosters public trust and institutional legitimacy. Employing a normative-juridical method and qualitative analysis based on secondary data, this article concludes that businesses capable of integrating adaptation, innovation, legal compliance, and social responsibility are more likely to achieve long-term sustainability, even in times of global crisis

Abstract

The sustainability of the national business climate is not solely influenced by the achievement of macroeconomic indicators, but is also determined by the quality of public governance, the effectiveness of fiscal policy, and institutional legitimacy. This study aims to analyze the interrelationship between anti-corruption policy reforms, regional fiscal dynamics, protection of informal labor, and financial system stability in sustaining national business activities during the 2025–2026 period. The research employs a normative qualitative approach with policy analysis based on secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia, Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority, the Audit Board of Indonesia, and official government publications. The findings indicate that although national macroeconomic performance remains relatively stable, characterized by economic growth exceeding 5 percent and controlled inflation, structural challenges persist, including regional fiscal disparities, heightened private sector prudence, and the need to strengthen the legitimacy of public policies. This study emphasizes that the sustainability of national economic growth requires the integration of legal reforms, the strengthening of public institutions, and policy orientations that prioritize social productivity.
