Abstract

MBS is born with several different names: school-based governance, school self-management, and even school-based management. These terms do have an understanding with a slightly different emphasis. However, the names have the same spirit, ie the school is expected to become more autonomous in the implementation of school management, especially in the use of 3M its man, money, and material. The main objective is to develop school policy procedures, solve common problems, and utilize all potential individuals who are members of the team. So the school can only print people who are intelligent and emotionally high, but also can prepare the development workers. Therefore the Islamic education institution is very necessary to apply MPMBS to make the school as an integral part of society, it is not a separate institution of society, the right to life and the survival of the school depends on the community, the school is a social institution that serves to serve members of the community in education, school and community progress are mutually exclusive, both need each other.

Abstract

This article discusses the other side of the Crusades. The Crusades that occurred thousands of years ago, apart from having the impact of geopolitical changes at that time, turned out to have a significant impact on social, cultural, scientific and economic changes on European Muslims and Christians at that time. The Crusades are the longest and biggest war in the history of world civilization. Efforts to save the territory under the friction of religious doctrine between Islam and Christianity caused huge losses to both of them, both morally and materially. Although there are some advantages from the contact of two different civilizations, the two of them still cannot be avoided. Abstract

Misogynistic Hadith Reinterpretation of Women's Leadership in Musnad Ahmad Maqasid Al-Shariah PerspectiveThis article aims to reinterpretation the mesoginic hadiths that describe women's leadership in Ahmad's musnad of the maqasid al-shariah perspective. The leadership of Muslim women in the public sphere has indeed experienced a significant development in recent years. But in some Muslim circles, women's leadership in the public sphere is still a taboo and is still clashed with mesoginic hadiths that describe women's leadership. In this study, the method used is a qualitative descriptive method of the library research type. The use of qualitative descriptive methods due to their suitability with the subject matter and focus of the research. The study found: 1) The mesoginic hadith when analyzed using the maqas}id al-shari'ah approach which says that women's leadership in Islam is prohibited, is a partial and textual understanding of hadith. 2) hadith which says women's leadership in Islam is forbidden, in essence indeed in hadith (tahrij hadith) has a continuous continuity of sanad and matan. However, in substance, the hadith requires reinterpretation so that the text and context of the hadith are read and understood wisely by Muslims. The theoretical implication that the author finds is that maqasid al-shari'ah as a science of interpretation, can not only be used to interpret the ahkam verses present in the Qur'an alone, but can also be used to interpret the hadith-hadith ahkam. So the impact is that when Muslims read a hadith they are required to be critical and selective not only in terms of the passage, but also to consider whether the intention of the shari'ah is relevant or not to the context of the times

Abstract

The development of religious fundamentalism is inseparable from the development of political globalization which focuses on the new world order. Fundamentalism is identified with religious movements that oppose all forms of development of modernism both in part and in all aspects. This research reveals how the term 'fundamentalism' is less precise in explaining various criticisms of Islamic thought expressed in political movements against others (West). As a result, the use of the term "fundamentalism" is a labeling imposed on Islamic groups that do not agree with 'westernization' which is often difficult to recognize as 'modernization'.Keywords: Islamic Fundamentalism, Language Game, Political

Abstract

This article discusses the progressive interpretation of the ahkam hadith in MUI Fatwa Number 83 of 2023 which relates to the law of support for the Palestinian struggle, with an emphasis on its relation to the boycott of products that support Israel. The main focus of this research is an in-depth and critical exploration of the relevance of certain hadiths in the context of the Palestinian struggle, as well as their application to the boycott policy as a form of solidarity action. This article adopts the perspective of Abdullah Saeed's progressive interpretation of listening to the hadiths that were used as the basis for the MUI fatwa. The method used in this article is a qualitative method with a hadith ahkam and an ethical-legal approach. The data collection technique is a literature study in the form of a study of hadith, journal articles, books related to law, ethics, and hadith ahkam regarding fatwas. The results of this study provide deep insights into the relevance of ahkam traditions in supporting the Palestinian cause in the context of boycotts. Progressive thinking on these traditions is integrated with arguments to strengthen boycotts in response to human rights violations and economic policies that support Israeli occupation. The article also discusses the potential impact of the boycott, both from an economic point of view and as a political instrument that can exert international pressure. Thus, this article not only attempts to detail the progressive interpretation of hadith ahkam in MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 but also critically relates it to the boycott strategy, contributing to progressive Islamic literature and Islamic law studies in viewing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Abstract

The enduring dichotomy between religion and science rooted in historical conflicts during the heyday of Islam and the Western Renaissance has persistently challenged efforts to reconcile the two. In Indonesia, thinkers within State Islamic Higher Education (PTKIN) have proposed the integration-interconnection perspective to bridge this gap. However, after almost two decades, this approach has remained unfamiliar to PTKIN students, including those at Kediri State Institute of Islam. This study aims to assess the reception of PTKIN academics, particularly students from the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da'wah at Kediri State Institute of Islam, towards the integration of Islam and science, from a Quranic perspective. Conducted as a field research, this study employs a mixed-method approach that combines both quantitative and qualitative methods. This methodological choice sought to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon under investigation. This study focuses on the academic community of Kediri State Institute of Islam. The findings reveal that the majority of students in the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da'wah at Kediri State Institute of Islam perceived a limited correlation between Islam and science. Their understanding diverges significantly from the intended goals of Islam and science integration at Kediri State Institute of Islam. The Islam and Science course offered by the faculty has emerged as a valuable platform for academics and da'wah activists to communicate the concept of integrating Islam and science to their students and broader community. Emphasizing the need for innovative learning modules related to Islam and Science, this study suggests that this approach can facilitate a deeper appreciation of the interconnection integration among PTKIN students. Ultimately, these efforts aim to overcome the persistent dichotomy between religion and science.

Abstract

This research examines the Prophetic traditions contained in the book "Nuṣūṣ al-Akhyār fī al-Ṣawm wa al-Ifṭār" authored by K.H. Maimun Zubair, which is used as the basis of argumentation in determining the beginning of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. This research uses Hasan Hanafi's hermeneutical method, which includes a critical analysis of the sanad, the matan of the hadith, the context of the emergence of the hadith, and its relevance. The results of the study found that there were variations in the quality of the hadith sanad in the book "Nuṣūṣ al-Akhyār fī al-Ṣawm wa al-Ifṭār," including the categories of shahih and hasan lighairi (good but not perfect in sanad). However, the overall text of the traditions in the book is considered good quality. This indicates the potential of the traditions contained in the book "Nuṣūṣ al-Akhyār fī al-Ṣawm wa al-Ifṭār" to be used as evidence in determining the laws of Islamic law. In addition, it is essential to understand the hadith text in depth, including its original meaning, historical context, and relevance to the context of life today.

Abstract

This article analyzes the moderate Salafi movement in Kediri through a case study of Jemaah Hijrah at Imam Muslim Islamic Boarding School. This research aims to reveal the characteristics, approaches, and development of religious understanding carried out by Jemaah Hijrah in the context of the moderate Salafi movement in Indonesia. The research method used is a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Jemaah Hijrah congregation and Imam Muslim Islamic Boarding School administrators, participatory observation during religious activities, and document analysis related to the views and principles adopted by Jemaah Hijrah. The results showed that the Jemaah Hijrah there adheres to a moderate Salafi approach, emphasizing being inclusive and tolerant of variations in interpretations of Islam. They seek to maintain core Salafi values while remaining open to dissent on religious issues. The movement's sustainability depends on an educational approach that provides space for discussion and dialogue rather than a rigid emphasis on a single interpretation and avoids actions that breed blind fanaticism, where blind fanaticism is the root of all hostility and division. This research provides insights into how the moderate Salafi movement can thrive in local settings and how this inclusive approach balances religious conservatism and acceptance of difference. The findings contribute to the understanding of the broader community that the development of the Salafi movement in Indonesia is not monolithic but varies and adapts according to local situations and the demands of the times.
