Abstract

The postpartum period, which typically lasts for six weeks, is crucial for the recovery of the mother after childbirth. Special care is required during this time to ensure the health and well-being of both the mother and the baby. Cesarean section (CS) deliveries require more intensive care due to the increased risk of complications. Additionally, newborns are particularly vulnerable to health risks, including infections of the umbilical cord. Proper care of the umbilical cord is essential to prevent infections that can harm the baby’s health. The objective of this study is to implement education on umbilical cord care for patients experiencing nursing problems related to knowledge deficits regarding umbilical cord care. This scientific paper uses a descriptive case study design, involving one patient (US) as the subject, and data was collected through interviews and observations. The results of the assessment revealed that the patient had limited knowledge about proper umbilical cord care. After two educational sessions, the patient’s understanding improved. On the first day, the patient was able to answer 7 out of 10 questions related to umbilical cord care, while on the second day, the patient could answer 10 questions correctly, demonstrating a significant increase in knowledge. In conclusion, education on umbilical cord care proved effective in improving the patient’s knowledge, although further reinforcement is necessary. More interactive media could be utilized in future interventions to enhance understanding and ensure optimal care for the newborn. These findings underscore the importance of providing targeted education to new mothers to prevent potential health risks to their babies.

Abstract

Abstract

Public Health Nursing (Perkesmas) is one of the health centers' efforts that supports the improvement of public health status by integrating nursing knowledge/practice with public health through the support of active community participation. Perkesmas service activities can be carried out inside and outside the Puskesmas building. Nurses provide nursing care for individuals who come to the puskesmas, provide family nursing care and nursing care for special groups/health-prone groups in the Perkesmas target area (home visits to vulnerable families). The problem for partners who are appointed in this community service program is the Documentation of Individual Nursing Care in the Perkesmas program which is less than optimal. This program offers solutions that are expected to help solve partner problems. The method used is to develop an application system in the documentation of individual nursing care in the health care program. As a result of this community service program, partners have an application system that will make it easier for community health workers in documenting individual nursing care in the community health program. The results of this program will also be published in accredited national or international journals.

Introduction: acute postpartum pain is caused by physiological changes that occur in postpartum mothers such as degeneration and necrosis at the placenta, the return of the uterus to its pre-pregnant condition, and changes in the vulva and vagina, in which case postpartum mothers need knowledge in providing warm compress relaxation therapy to reduce the pain felt after childbirth. Purpose: This case study is to analyze the implementation of warm compresses on Mrs. K, postpartum pregnancy serotinous patient with a nursing diagnosis of acute pain in Gincu Room 1, Indramayu Regional Hospital. Method: The method in this writing uses a case study. Data collection uses nursing care process which includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. As well as NRS (Numerical Rating Scale) as a pain scale instrument. Results and Discussion: before the warm compress was applied, the pain scale was 9 (0-10) with a response to complaints of pain, the patient grimaced, said he had difficulty sleeping, the patient only focused on himself and did not follow orders. After 2 days of giving the warm compress for 15 minutes, there was a change in the scale pain becomes 5 (0-10) with the response to the patient's complaint of pain, the grimace has decreased, the patient can sleep, the patient can focus and follow orders well. Conclusion: based on the implementation of warm compresses that have been carried out on Mrs. For postpartum pregnancy serotinous patients with a nursing diagnosis of acute pain in the Gincu Room 1, Indramayu Regional Hospital, the problem of acute pain in the patient can be resolved and the patient's outcome target is achieved.

Abstract

Background: A Caesarean section (CS) is a birthing procedure performed by making an incision in the mother's abdominal wall and uterus to deliver the baby, usually performed when normal vaginal delivery is not possible due to medical indications for the mother or fetus, such as placenta previa, abnormal presentation or position of the fetus, and other conditions that pose a risk of medical complications that endanger the mother and fetus. At Arjawinangun Regional Hospital, 1,491 CS births were recorded in 2021. One of the problems that often occurs in post-Cesarean section patients is impaired physical mobility, which causes limitations in the ability to move independently. This disorder needs to be addressed immediately so as not to hinder the recovery process. To overcome this problem, early mobilization intervention is very important. Early mobilization is a way to help patients increase their physical activity after undergoing surgery. Objective: This study aims to determine the description of the implementation of early mobilization in Mrs. M with impaired physical mobility after Caesarean section in the Dewi Sartika room, Arjawinangun Regional Hospital, Cirebon Regency, and to assess its effectiveness in overcoming these impaired physical mobility. Implementation method: This study used a case study method with research subjects in the form of patients who experienced impaired physical mobility after Sectio Caesarea at RSUD Arjawinangun Cirebon Regency. The implementation process involved providing early mobilization instructions which included light movement exercises tailored to the patient's condition. Results: The results of the study showed that after the implementation of early mobilization, impaired physical mobility in patients after Sectio Caesarea could be resolved significantly. Patients showed increased ability to move, reduced pain, and accelerated the post-operative recovery process.
