Abstract

Pharmacological therapy in treating hypotension after spinal anesthesia causes various side effects including tachycardia, headache, edema, body electrolyte imbalance, acid base imbalance, volume overload, anaphylaxis and coagulopathy. Non-pharmacological therapy can be an alternative choice to avoid the side effects of pharmacological therapy. Knowledge is one of the things needed in implementing non-pharmacological therapy. Knowledge is influenced by several factors, including education level and length of work. Through this research, we want to know the relationship between length of work and level of education with the level of knowledge of non-pharmacological therapy. The research design used is correlation analytical research with a cross-sectional approach. The population taken were anesthetists in Bali using a total sampling technique. The sample in this study was 102 anesthetists using a total sampling technique. Bivariate analysis with the chi square test was carried out to test the relationship between length of work and level of education with the level of knowledge of non-pharmacological techniques in treating hypotension. The results of the study concluded that the level of knowledge had a significant relationship with length of work (p < 0.001) and level of education (p < 0.001).

Abstract

Patient safety culture remains a major concern globally, particularly in anesthesia and surgical services. Considering that surgical and anesthesia services involve various types of invasive procedures that can cause death or complications. This study aims to determine factors related to patient safety culture in the operating room. This quantitative correlation research involved 56 nurses and nurse anesthetists at Hospital A and Hospital B. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling-total sampling. Each respondent has filled out a structured questionnaire via Google Form and has been analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square test. To ensure the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, content validity was assessed by experts in the field to confirm that the questions covered all relevant aspects of patient safety culture in the operating room. Reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha, which demonstrated a high level of internal consistency. These measures ensured that the questionnaire accurately and reliably captured the factors related to patient safety culture among the participating nurses and nurse anesthetists. This research found that patient safety culture in the operating room was in the poor category as many as 30 nurses and nurse anesthetists (54%). Training and knowledge about patient safety factors were associated with patient safety culture in the operating room (p= 0.045 and p<0.001). Support from hospital management is very necessary to be able to accommodate all staff in the operating room in implementing an optimal patient safety culture through outreach and training.

Abstract

Pain is the most common complaint found in perioperative patients, so optimal pain management is needed. Proper pain management can be done if the officer is able to know the intensity of pain felt by the patient and what factors are related. The aim of this study was to determine the pain intensity of post-CS patients with spinal anesthesia. This quantitative correlation study with a cross-sectional approach will be conducted involving 87 respondents based on the Slovin Formula. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling to determine the selected sample. This study will use univariate data analysis techniques (frequency distribution and percentage), and bivariate data analysis (chi-square test). The results of the data analysis showed that the majority of patients had postoperative pain intensity on a scale of <2 as many as 52 people (60%). Age factors, gravida status, BMI, preoperative analgesics, and preoperative pain intensity have p-values> 0.05, namely 0.623, 0.137, 0.341, 0.570, 0.620. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between age, BMI, pre-operative pain intensity, and pre-operative analgesic administration with post-operative pain intensity in CS patients with spinal anesthesia.

Abstract

Education on anesthesia for cardiovascular disorders includes matters related to anesthesia from pre, intra, to post anesthesia and will affect how prepared the patient is to face post-anesthesia conditions. Education on anesthesia has not been implemented optimally, its implementation only focuses on pre-anesthesia preparation, while for intra and post anesthesia its implementation has not been optimal. This is influenced by several factors. Through this study, we want to know the factors that influence anesthesiologists in providing education on anesthesia procedures in surgical patients with cardiovascular disorders. The research design used was a correlation analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. The population taken was anesthesiologists in Indonesia with a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study was 254 anesthesiologists with a purposive sampling technique. Bivariate analysis with the chi square test was carried out to test the factors that influence anesthesiologists in providing education on anesthesia procedures in surgical patients with cardiovascular disorders. The results of the study concluded that work patterns had a significant relationship with the provision of education (p <0.001), while length of work (p 0.823) and workload (p 0.113) were not significantly related to the level of education provision. Further research is recommended on the dominant factors that influence the provision of education on anesthesia procedures in surgical patients with cardiovascular disorders.

Abstract

Anxiety is a common experience during pregnancy and can have significant implications for both the mother's health and the developing fetus. One factor that can contribute to maternal anxiety is exposure to information. The vast amount of information available to pregnant women through various sources, such as books, websites, and social media, can be overwhelming and confusing. Furthermore, the quality and accuracy of information available online can vary widely. This can make it difficult for pregnant women to determine which sources are reliable and trustworthy. As a result, they may become overwhelmed with doubt and uncertainty, leading to increased anxiety. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between exposure to information and the level of anxiety of pregnant women. The study used a descriptive cross-sectional correlation design using the Pregnancy Anxiety Questionnaire-Revised for All Pregnant Women Regardless of Parity (PRAQ-R2). The sample used 80 respondents using consecutive sampling technique. Data analysis using Chi Square test. The results showed that information exposure including exposure to information (p=0.01), confidence in information (p=0.009), and information support (0.021) were associated with the level of anxiety of pregnant women. This study highlights the importance of providing clear, accurate, and supportive information to pregnant women to help reduce anxiety and promote positive mental health outcomes.
