Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital membawa dampak besar bagi generasi Alpha, terutama dalam membentuk moralitas mereka di media sosial. Keluarga memiliki peran utama dalam menanamkan literasi digital guna membimbing anak dalam memilah informasi, memahami etika digital, serta menggunakan media sosial secara bertanggung jawab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran literasi digital keluarga dalam membentuk moralitas generasi Alpha. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan wawancara kepada orangtuan, pendidik, dan anak generasi alpha di Kota Makassar. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan literasi digital dalam keluarga melalui tiga tahapan yaitu pengenalan, pembiasaan, serta pemantauan dan evaluasi yang membantu anak dalam memahami batasan penggunaan media sosial dan dampaknya terhadap moralitas mereka. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan dalam pengimplementasiannya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan kolaborasi antara keluarga, pendidik, dan pemerintah untuk menciptakan lingkungan digital yang lebih aman dan mendukung perkembangan moral anak.

Abstract

This study aims to examine changes in the socio-cultural conditions of the people of Kapota Utara Village, South Wangi-Wangi Sub-district, Wakatobi Regency, as a result of the development of the Kapota Lake Tourism Attraction Area. The main focus of this research is on community perceptions of spatial changes, patterns of social interaction, and the sustainability of local cultural values in the context of tourism development. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and review of tourism development planning documents. The main informants consisted of community leaders, local business actors, village officials, and visitors to the tourist area. The results showed that the development of tourist areas brought significant changes to the social structure and interaction patterns of the community. There is an increase in local economic participation, but there are also concerns related to the fading of cultural values and local wisdom due to the commercialization of social space. Some communities show resistance to the influx of labor from outside the region, while others see it as a collaborative opportunity. Recommendations from this study are the importance of integrating local culture in every stage of tourism development as well as the need for participatory communication forums between the government, communities, and businesses to minimize the potential for social conflict. In addition, there is a need for cultural preservation policies through educational programs and promotion of local values that synergize with tourism development.

Abstract

Social interaction on Pelni ships has its own unique characteristics. This study aims to reveal the social interaction between passengers on Pelni ships as a unique social space that is formed during sea voyages in Indonesia. Pelni ships, with their various facilities and passenger classes, serve as a platform for individuals from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds to interact. This research employs a qualitative approach using participatory observation and in-depth interviews with 25 passengers on the Makassar-Baubau-Raha-Kendari route in February 2025 The findings of this study indicate that the ship's space creates unique temporary social relationships, ranging from light conversation, cooperation in joint activities, to minor conflicts due to differences in values and customs. Several factors that influence interaction patterns include the duration of the trip, the layout of the ship, and the socio-cultural values brought by the passengers. In addition, social interaction is also influenced by social status and access to certain facilities, which sometimes reinforces social stratification on the ship. However, in some cases, these differences actually serve as catalysts for solidarity and cooperation among passengers. This study offers insights into the social dynamics within the mobile social space of a Pelni ship, reflecting the diversity of Indonesian society while also highlighting the challenges of maintaining social harmony amid such diversity. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for improving service design and social policies on board ships to enhance the quality of the passenger experience.

Abstract

Lack of interest in playing traditional sports due to the development of modern games. However, there are areas that still preserve and even foster solidarity and social resilience through traditional sports. This research aims to reveal the process and social value of traditional Sisemba sports in South Sulawesi. The unit of analysis is informed by a sociological perspective, employing a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results showed that traditional Sisemba sports help foster the values of solidarity, cooperation, discipline, and resilience, and serve as an arena for learning the values of cooperation, courage, and loyalty to common rules. The game is often held in traditional rituals, such as harvest thanksgiving and gathering, which makes it more than just a physical activity. The dynamics found in social interaction, sportsmanship, and social ethics, involving both physical and emotional interactions, strengthen solidarity between players and teach the importance of accepting risk as part of life.

Abstract

Environmental degradation caused by poor waste management has become an urgent global issue, particularly in rapidly urbanizing cities like Makassar, Indonesia, where rivers have long been treated as natural dumping sites. This research aims to analyze how socio-cultural practices and Islamic religious values shape community behavior in waste disposal along Makassar’s riverbanks. Using a qualitative approach, the research employed in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation to capture the perspectives of residents, community leaders, and religious figures. Data were analyzed through thematic interpretation and triangulated to ensure validity and depth. The findings reveal that waste management behavior is strongly influenced by generational habits and weak social norms, while religious teachings emphasizing cleanliness as part of faith are not consistently translated into environmental action. The study further shows that collaboration between local government and religious institutions can strengthen environmental awareness and transform these values into concrete practices. The implication of this research is that integrating religious ethics with community-based environmental programs can create sustainable behavioral change and enrich sociological discourse on faith-based environmental movements. Degradasi lingkungan akibat pengelolaan sampah yang buruk telah menjadi isu global yang mendesak, terutama di kota-kota yang berkembang pesat seperti Makassar, Indonesia, dimana sungai sejak lama diperlakukan sebagai tempat pembuangan alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana praktik sosial-budaya dan nilai-nilai keagamaan Islam membentuk perilaku masyarakat dalam isu pembuangan sampah di sepanjang bantaran sungai Makassar. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi untuk menggali perspektif warga, tokoh masyarakat, dan pemimpin agama. Data dianalisis secara tematik dan divalidasi melalui triangulasi untuk memastikan kedalaman dan keabsahannya. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku pengelolaan sampah sangat dipengaruhi oleh kebiasaan turun-temurun dan lemahnya norma sosial, sementara ajaran agama tentang kebersihan sebagai bagian dari iman belum sepenuhnya diterapkan dalam tindakan lingkungan. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa sinergi antara pemerintah daerah dan institusi keagamaan dapat memperkuat kesadaran lingkungan dan mentransformasikan nilai-nilai tersebut ke dalam praktik nyata. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah bahwa integrasi etika keagamaan dengan program lingkungan berbasis komunitas dapat menciptakan perubahan perilaku yang berkelanjutan serta memperkaya kajian sosiologis tentang gerakan lingkungan berbasis iman.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the quality of education through in-depth learning training for teachers in South Sulawesi. The program is implemented by the South Sulawesi Teacher Training Center in collaboration with universities, with the main target being teachers at various levels of education. The methods used to carry out the activities include interactive lectures, group discussions, learning simulations, and assistance in developing collaborative inquiry-based learning plans. The training material focused on strengthening growth mindset, deep learning frameworks, learning planning and implementation, assessment, and reflection on pedagogical practices. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in designing and implementing meaningful, conscious, and enjoyable learning. In addition, teachers are better able to holistically integrate aspects of thinking, feeling, tasting, and exercising in the teaching and learning process. Thus, this training contributes to improving teacher professionalism and is one of the effective strategies in efforts to improve the quality of education in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Cross-Cultural Education in instilling the value of Religious Moderation and to identify supporting factors, obstacles, and strategies for strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile at UPTD SMAN 1 Nosu, Mamasa Regency. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis of the principal, vice principal for curriculum, teachers, student council president, and students from various religious and cultural backgrounds. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Cross-Cultural Education is effective through intracurricular, cocurricular, and extracurricular activities that foster the values of mutual cooperation and global diversity. The value of religious moderation is integrated through a contextual approach and cross-curricular projects. Supporting factors include inclusive school policies, teacher competence, student participation, and a conducive learning environment, while the main obstacles are limited facilities, low literacy in moderation, social resistance, and a crowded curriculum.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of online game players in building intercultural tolerance through interactions in cyberspace. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study type to explore the experiences of online game players in cross-cultural interactions. The research subjects consisted of seven players selected through purposive sampling, using snowball sampling until the data was saturated. Data collection techniques were through semi-structured interviews and participant observation, then data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources and methods, accompanied by member checking with participants. The results of the analysis show four main findings: (1) online games act as a means of social interaction as well as entertainment, (2) cross-cultural communication is a factor that can strengthen and hinder relationships, (3) the practice of tolerance is reflected in the ability to manage emotions, compromise, act as a mediator, and use humor, and (4) educational values are apparent in the form of increased language skills, empathy, patience, and appreciation for diversity. Although verbal and strategic conflicts often arise, the emerging resolution patterns show that digital space has strong potential as a medium for learning tolerance and cross-cultural collaboration.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to identify the role of intercultural education in strengthening national identity amid the flow of globalization. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected througliterature studies and in-depth interviews with lecturers and students involved in intercultural-based learning activities. Data analysis was conducted using a qualitative approach, presenting findings in descriptive form without the use of numerical data or statistical formulas. The results show that intercultural education plays a strategic role in fostering tolerance, openness, and appreciation for diversity, enabling students to adapt to global cultures without losing their national identity. This research contributes to curriculum development and character building for young generations who are globally minded yet firmly rooted in national values. Keywords: Intercultural Education, National Identity, Globalization, National Character   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peran pendidikan lintas budaya dalam memperkuat identitas nasional di tengah arus globalisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur dan wawancara mendalam terhadap dosen serta mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis lintas budaya. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu menyajikan temuan dalam bentuk uraian deskriptif tanpa menggunakan angka maupun rumusan statistika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan lintas budaya berperan strategis dalam menumbuhkan toleransi, keterbukaan, dan apresiasi terhadap keberagaman, sehingga mahasiswa mampu beradaptasi dengan budaya global tanpa kehilangan jati diri nasional. Penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi pengembangan kurikulum dan pembentukan karakter generasi muda yang berwawasan global namun tetap berakar pada nilai kebangsaan. Abstract

Abstract: Cross-cultural education, often referred to as PLB, is seen as strategic for developing students' multicultural character based on respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion. This article will present a literature review of national and international publications related to the role of PLB in strengthening students' multicultural knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Using a narrative review of published sources from 2015–2025, this paper identifies: (1) PLB's contribution to cultural literacy, empathy, and prejudice reduction; (2) effective implementation strategies at the curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and school climate levels; and (3) supporting and inhibiting factors influencing success. This study also shows that PLB integrated into learning, cross-subject projects, and reflective practice effectively fosters multicultural character, especially when supported by school leadership, parent-community collaboration, and clear policies. Practical implications and recommendations are presented for curriculum developers, principals, and teachers. Keywords: cross-cultural education; multicultural character; diversity; inclusion; school Abstrak: Pendidikan lintas budaya atau sering kali di sebut dengan PLB di pandang strategis untuk membangun karakter multikultural siswa yang berlandaskan penghargaan terhadap keberagaman, keadilan, dan inklusi. Artikel ini akan menyajikan tentang kajian literatur terhadap publikasi nasional dan internasional terkait peran PLB itu sendiri dalam memperkuat dimensi pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan multikultural peserta didik. Menggunakan metode tinjauan naratif terhadap sumber-sumber terbitan 2015–2025, tulisan ini mengidentifikasi: (1) kontribusi PLB pada literasi budaya, empati, dan pengurangan prasangka; (2) strategi implementasi efektif di level kurikulum, pedagogi, asesmen, dan iklim sekolah; serta (3) faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan. Kajian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa PLB yang terintegrasi dalam pembelajaran, proyek lintas mata pelajaran, dan praktik reflektif efektif menumbuhkan karakter multikultural, terutama bila didukung kepemimpinan sekolah, kolaborasi orang tua–komunitas, dan kebijakan yang jelas. Implikasi praktis dan rekomendasi disajikan untuk pengembang kurikulum, kepala sekolah, dan guru. Kata Kunci: pendidikan lintas budaya; karakter multikultural; keberagaman; inklusi; sekolah
