Abstract

The issuance of Law Number 20 of 2008 concerning MSMEs which was revised again into Government Regulation Number 7 of 2021 regulating the convenience, protection and empowerment of MSMEs is considered to be less than optimal. Many millennials open MSMEs but do not last long due to discontinuous demand, capital constraints and limited raw materials. Several policies have been taken by the government to protect MSMEs to develop and survive, but they have not run optimally as expected. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of directly or indirectly determining the influence of product innovation and digital marketing on MSME performance through risk taking as an intervening variable on MSMEs in Banyuwangi Regency. This study is a quantitative study with a research population of MSMEs selling food in Banyuwangi Regency. The population in this study were MSMEs in Banyuwangi Regency who received assistance from the Industry, Trade and Cooperatives Service totaling 1263 MSMEs. The sampling technique used nonprobability sampling with a purposive sampling technique to obtain a sample of 125 MSMEs. The sample of this study is MSMEs in Banyuwangi Regency that sell food and use digital marketing with a population of 125 business units. The analysis technique used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) using WarpPLS 7.0. The results of data analysis show that the product innovation variable does not have a significant effect on risk taking, digital marketing has a significant effect on risk taking, product innovation has a significant effect on MSME performance, digital marketing has a significant effect on MSME performance, risk taking does not have a significant effect on MSME performance. Indirectly, product innovation and digital marketing have a significant effect on MSME performance through risk taking.

Abstract

Progressive Qur’anic interpretation as a contextual approach to understanding the Qur’an has been extensively developed at the theoretical level, but its implementation in Islamic higher education remains underexplored. Most institutions in Southeast Asia still adhere to traditional exegetical models that are less responsive to contemporary issues such as gender equality, environmental crises, and religious pluralism. This study aims to fill that gap by exploring the application of progressive interpretation as a pedagogical strategy in the Qur’an and Tafsir Study Program (PSIAT) at the Graduate School of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through curriculum document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations. Thematic analysis was conducted through open, axial, and selective coding, focusing on principles of justice, social relevance, and interdisciplinarity. The findings show that PSIAT systematically integrates progressive interpretation into its curriculum through digital, interdisciplinary, and contextual approaches. Students demonstrated positive responses by developing critical thinking and actively engaging with contemporary social issues. This study offers an empirical contribution to the development of a tafsir curriculum in Islamic higher education that is more inclusive, transformative, and relevant to modern challenges.

Abstract

This study explores the human dimension of digital transformation by examining what drives and hinders employee engagement across regions. Using a mixed method approach, the research investigates psychological factors such as self-efficacy, conscientiousness, and technostress and the role of adaptive leadership and human-centered design. The findings reveal regional disparities in engagement, with South Asia showing the most positive outcomes due to supportive policies and cultural cohesion. Self-efficacy and conscientiousness strengthen engagement, while technostress remains a major barrier. Adaptive leadership proves critical in sustaining engagement during organizational change, and human-centered frameworks such as the HOPE model enhance both well-being and efficiency. Overall, the study concludes that sustainable digital transformation requires an integrated approach that blends psychology, leadership, inclusive design, and alignment with local policies.

Abstract

This study examines how digital servant leadership (DSL) influences hackathon innovation performance in Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), with a focus on the mediating role of AKHLAK cultural values. Amidst ongoing digital transformation, SOEs have embraced DSL as a leadership style that emphasizes inclusivity, empowerment, and ethical service delivery. The study utilizes a mixed method approach comprising descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares (PLS SEM) to analyze quantitative and qualitative data gathered between November 2023 and January 2024. Key findings reveal that DSL significantly enhances innovation outcomes by fostering a psychologically safe, collaborative environment essential for successful hackathon execution. The presence of AKHLAK values Amanah, Kompeten, Harmonis, Loyal, Adaptif, and Kolaboratif strengthens cultural alignment, acting as a mediator that links leadership behaviors to employee engagement and innovation performance. Hackathons hosted by SOEs demonstrate varied formats, scales, and domains, yet all share critical success factors such as structured mentorship, inclusive participation, and strong post event support systems. The analysis of measurement and structural models shows robust construct validity and reliability across all latent variables. Convergent and discriminant validity meet accepted thresholds, while predictive relevance and model fit indices confirm the soundness of the proposed framework. Statistical mediation effects highlight the transformative impact of AKHLAK in linking DSL to performance gains in public service innovation. These findings contribute to public sector leadership theory and practice by proposing a replicable framework that combines digital servant leadership, AKHLAK-based cultural alignment, and participatory innovation formats. The Indonesian experience offers insights for other developing nations seeking to embed ethical leadership into digital transformation agendas. By institutionalizing values and enabling employee driven innovation, SOEs can better navigate complex governance landscapes while delivering measurable public value.

Abstract

Building Awareness among Elementary School student through International Community Service", was implemented at Permai Pulai Pinang, Malaysia, with elementary school students as the main partners. The program was designed to enhance student’ knowledge, awareness, and skills in understanding the role of accounting as a tool for promoting sustainability. In an era where environmental, social, and economic challenges are increasingly complex, the younger generation must be equipped with literacy in sustainability-oriented financial accountability. The activities were carried out through interactive workshops, group discussions, and practical exercises that introduced concepts of sustainable development, green accounting, and responsible financial practices. Student were actively engaged in problem-solving sessions and case studies relevant to their daily lives, thereby linking abstract accounting concepts to real-world sustainability issues. The international setting of this program also provided cross-cultural learning opportunities, encouraging participants to exchange perspectives and develop a global mindset toward sustainability challenges. The outcomes of the program showed increased awareness and understanding among participants about the importance of integrating sustainability principles into decision-making processes. Furthermore, the program fostered critical thinking, collaboration, and social responsibility among the student. This initiative demonstrates that accounting education, when integrated with sustainability values, can serve as a powerful medium to inspire the younger generation to become agents of change for a sustainable future.
