Abstract

Rice bran oil as an alternative edible oil is promising to be developed. However, the presence of lipaze enzym which hydrolyze actively trigliceride into free fatty acid results rice bran quality can not be controlled and tend to degrade. Stabilization proccesswas needed to overcome this isue. Stabilization with microwave heating has been carried out to study the effect of stabilization toward the quality of rice bran oil. The results showed that the highest percentage of oil mass 7.67% was obtained at mediumpower (power 2), stabilization time 1 minute and the extraction waiting time for 0 week. Meanwhile, the levels of free fatty acids tended to be constant when the proccess was carried out at power 3 (high power) for all stabilization times. Microwave heating was effective enough to reduce the lipase enzyme in rice bran so as free fatty acid content did not increase significantly. Abstract

The biggest problem currently in Indonesia is accumulated and uncontrolled of garbage amount everywhere, especially organic waste. There are also more methods to utilize waste. One of waste utilization is Biogas. Organic content in organic waste can be used as a substart source for anaerobic bacteria. Initial treatment of organic waste in this study used as a variable, namely chopped and blended. This initial treatment was done before it was mixed with other materials, ie cattle dung and water. 200% water was added to the reactor along with other variables. Temperature, pH and biogas volume were observed for 30 days. Initial treatment factor of organic waste as biogas production substrat showed blend treatment with decay, it had higher biogas production than others. Biogas volume was resulted 189.99 cm3 with a composition ratio of 50% cattle dung and 50% organic waste.Keywords: Biogas, Livestock Manure, Organic Waste.

Abstract

Biogas is one solution to the use organic waste (livestock manure and vegetables). The aim of the research was to find out the effectiveness of livestock manure and fermentation of vegetable waste into biogas. This research was carried out using fermented vegetable waste for 10-12 days, then it was chopped and blended. The vegetable waste is then mixed with cow dung and water according to the determined variables. The mixture was put into a brown glass bottle and the bottle mouth was closed with a balloon and deposited for 8 days. Furthermore, the CO2 gas produced wasreleased and start to deposite again for 20-30 days. Trapped methane gas obtained from in the balloon was then stored to measure the produced volume and pH and also the methane gas. The results obtained from the research that is were the best pH obtained from vegetable waste blender fermentation treatment (% water100 and the percentage ofKS: SO was 75:25) was 7 and the largest volume was obtained from fermented chopped vegetable waste treatment (water% 300 and percentage KS: SO was 100: 0) of 78.73 cm3. Abstract

Falling film evaporator is a constructed equipment for concentrating dilute solution that are sensitive to heat flowing form a thin film. This research aims to study the evaporation of cane juice concentrated with air flow on falling film evaporator and knowing evaporation rate occured in falling film evaporator used. In the process, cane juice from plant pumped to the falling film evaporator that used in this experiment. This research used concentrated cane juice and air flow rate for variables of this experiment. Cane juice flow from top of evaporator through distributor to form thin film and air flow from the bottom of evaporator. After that, temperatur of pipe wall, inlet and outlet temperature of cane juice and air were measured. This experiment concluded that the highest concentration of outlet solution is 59 brix for liquid flow rate 154 l/h and air flow rate 10 m3/h, and the other hand inlet solution concentration 51 brix. Optimum evaporation rate is 35 kg/m2.h for 51 brix and air flow rate 10 m3/h. Keywords: Concentrated cane juice, Evaporator, Evaporation rate, Falling film.

Abstract

Limbah plastik merupakan salah satu permasalahan global yang serius. Hal ini dikarenakan sifat plastik yang sulit terurai di alam. Tujuan dilakukan pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada warga Desa Tulangan agar menjadi lebih kreatif dan dapat membantu meningkatkan perekonomian warga serta meminimalisir jumlah sampah plastik yang dihasilkan oleh warga Desa Tulangan. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan melakukan pengolahan limbah/sampah plastik menjadi kerajinan tas dengan memanfaatkan limbah plastik yang dihasilkan dari sampah rumah tangga. Pelatihan yang dilakukan menghasilkan produk berupa tas yang memiliki bentuk dan desain yang menarik serta layak untuk dijual.

Abstract

Waste is one of the causes of environmental problems, especially plastic waste. Therefore, education is carried out regarding knowledge about waste and waste utilization to minimize the accumulation of plastic waste. The aim of this education is so that high school students have environmental awareness and are able to be creative in utilizing surrounding waste to make environmentally friendly products that have high economic value. This education was carried out using a presentation method regarding waste materials and examples of waste utilization, namely coconut fiber waste which has the potential to be used as a strengthening material in the manufacture of biodegradable plastic. The results of the education provided show that there has been an increase in understanding regarding waste and its use on the "sangat mengetahui" indicator of 86.67%.

Abstract

Masalah pencemaran air sungai yang disebabkan oleh pembuangan limbah dan sampah telah menurunkan kualitas air, daya dukung ekosistem, dan sumber daya alam, khususnya di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memastikan bahwa dana Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dimanfaatkan sesuai prinsip pembangunan berkelanjutan, sehingga memberikan dampak positif bagi masyarakat dan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan tahap perencanaan dan sosialisasi, pengalokasian dana CSR, pelaksanaan kegiatan, bimbingan teknis, monitoring dan evaluasi, dan laporan pertanggungjawaban. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan teknis memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang transparansi, akuntabilitas, dan keberlanjutan dalam pengelolaan dana CSR, yang meningkatkan kapasitas desa dalam mengelola dana secara efektif. Pengabdian masyarakat ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengelolaan dana CSR yang lebih terarah untuk mendukung pelestarian lingkungan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat lokal.

Abstract

The problem of river water pollution caused by waste and garbage disposal has reduced water quality, ecosystem carrying capacity, and natural resources, especially in Sidoarjo Regency. This study aims to ensure that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds are utilized by the principles of sustainable development so that they positively impact society and the environment. The methods used involve the planning and socialization stages, allocation of CSR funds, implementation of activities, technical guidance, monitoring and evaluation, and accountability reports. The results show that technical guidance provides an in-depth understanding of transparency, accountability, and sustainability in managing CSR funds, increasing villages' capacity to manage funds effectively. This community service contributes to the management of CSR funds that are more focused on supporting environmental conservation and the welfare of local communities.

Abstract

Menurut data Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan tahun 2022, Indonesia merupakan penghasil sampah plastik terbesar kedua di dunia dengan volume mencapai 70 juta ton. Sampah plastik konvensional, yang sulit terurai menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan, sehingga dibutuhkan alternatif ramah lingkungan seperti plastik biodegradable berbahan dasar pati dan selulosa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu, perbedaan rasio selulosa dan pati terhadap waktu biodegradasi, dan kuat tarik plastik biodegradable. Penelitian ini dibagi menjadi 3 tahap. Tahap pertama, pretreatment serabut kelapa untuk menghasilkan ukuran 50 mesh. Tahap kedua, mengekstraksi selulosa dari serabut kelapa dengan NaOH 98% dan 100 mL aquades dan tahap akhir yaitu pembuatan bioplastik. Hasil proses ektraksi dipanaskan sambil diaduk menggunakan magnetic strirer hotplate dan ditambahkan sorbitol, lalu dicetak membentuk film. Analisis yang dilakukan adalah uji kuat tarik menggunakan alat tensile system, serta uji biodegradasi yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui lama bioplastik terurai. Hasil kuat tarik terbaik didapatkan pada variabel pati 10 g, sorbitol 2,7 g dan pada suhu 65°C sebesar 48,550 N/mm2. Hasil uji kuat tarik tersebut sudah memenuhi standar SNI 7818:2014 tentang standar kuat tarik pada plastik biodegradable yaitu minimal 13,7 (N/mm2). Hasil biodegradasi terbaik didapatkan pada variabel pati 10 g, sorbitol 2,7 g dan suhu 75°C sebesar 92%. Pada hasil tersebut sesuai standard SNI 7818:2014 tentang standar biodegradasi plastik biodegradable yaitu tergradasi>60% selama 1 minggu (7 hari).

Abstract

Di era globalisasi, kewirausahaan menjadi kompetensi krusial bagi mahasiswa untuk berperan sebagai agen perubahan sosial dan ekonomi melalui pemanfaatan potensi lokal, salah satunya bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea). Bunga telang kaya akan antosianin dan memiliki khasiat antioksidan, pewarna alami, serta potensi anti diabetes. Kegiatan ini bertujuan menumbuhkan ide bisnis mahasiswa dengan memanfaatkan warna alami bunga telang sebagai dasar pengembangan produk wirausaha berbasis bahan alami. Metode yang digunakan adalah presentasi pembuatan olahan makanan berbasis bunga telang dan dilakukan pengetesan rasa dan visual warna. Hasilnya, ketiga produk inovasi tersebut berhasil dikembangkan dengan ciri khas warna biru keunguan alami yang menarik perhatian, dengan proses pembuatan yang relatif mudah diikuti. Pemanfaatan bunga telang terbukti efektif meningkatkan daya tarik visual produk sekaligus memberikan nilai tambah kesehatan. Disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan usaha berbasis bunga telang memiliki potensi besar sebagai ide bisnis mahasiswa yang kreatif, berkelanjutan, dan ramah Lingkungan.
