Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Ethnomedicinal plants that have been proven as analgesics are moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.) and papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.). The purpose of this study is to determine the analgesic activity of a combination of papaya and moringa leaf extracts. Analgesic testing used the writhing method. A total of 25 mice were grouped into 5 treatment groups, namely negative control (CMC Na 1%), positive control (mefenamic acid 500mg/70kgBW), group I (moringa leaf extract 400mg/kgBW), group II (papaya leaf extract 600mg/kgBW), and group III (combination of moringa leaf extract 200mg/kgBW and papaya leaf extract 300mg/kgBW). The results of the study were obtained using the formula for calculating the percentage of analgesic power and tested using the Post Hoc test and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. Based on the analysis, a significant difference was obtained between the treatment group and the negative control. The highest percentage of analgesic effect was obtained from group III, the combination of moringa leaf extract and papaya leaf extract at 56.4%. This result is equivalent to the positive control, with the administration of mefenamic acid.

Abstract

A rise in arterial blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg or higher is referred to as hypertension. One statistic used to assess how well health services are being prevented and treated is quality of life. Determining the characteristics of hypertension patients at the Talang Community Health Center, assessing their quality of life there, and identifying the factors affecting their quality of life were the goals of this study. This kind of study was quantitative, descriptive, and employed a cross-sectional technique. There were eighty responders in the study sample. Non-probability sampling using a successive sampling method was the sampling strategy used. The findings of the bivariate analysis indicated that the physical component summary was significantly correlated with age, gender, and duration of suffering, whereas the mental component summary was correlated with education and duration of suffering (p <0.05). The multivariate analysis's findings indicated that the physical component summary was influenced by age, gender, and length of suffering. On the other hand, the mental component summary was influenced by the length of suffering. Neither the mental nor the physical components were impacted by education. With physical component summary scores of 42.23 and mental component summary scores of 43.10, respondents with hypertension at the Talang Health Center experienced a low quality of life.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the deadly infectious diseases worldwide. It is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. The cases of tuberculosis in 2022 were reported to be 824,000 with an annual death toll of 93,000. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by long-term treatment and falls under the ICD-10 code 16.2 for national health insurance coverage. The aim of this research is to determine the cost of illness due to tuberculosis from a health perspective and to determine the variables associated with the cost of illness due to tuberculosis at RSUD dr. Soeselo Slawi in 2022. This research method uses observational with a cross sectional research design on 82 patient data, descriptive analysis methods to determine cost estimates and statistical methods to determine the factors that influence the total cost of illness for tuberculosis patients. Based on the research, it shows that the cost of service is the highest cost component compared to other cost components. The average cost of supporting examinations is Rp. 753,827.00; service fee of Rp. 2,133,809.00; and pharmacy costs Rp. 1,873,449.00. The average cost of tuberculosis illness from a healthcare perspective is Rp. 4,761,085.00. The largest component of the illness costs is the service cost. The variables significantly associated with a Sig. (2-tailed) value ˂ 0.05 are the ward class, length of stay, diagnostic test costs, service costs, and pharmacy costs with respect to the total illness costs.
