Abstract

School Principal's academic supervision and teacher self-development are the main priorities in efforts to improve teachers’ professional competence. The research is aimed to determine the effect of academic supervision (X1) and teacher self-development (X2) on the professional competence of teachers (Y) at SDN in North Rupat. The research uses quantitative research. The research is descriptive research with a total sample of 88 people. Simultaneously, there is the effect of the School Principal’s Academic Supervision (X1) and Teacher Self-Development (X2) on Teacher Professional Competence (Y) at SDN in North Rupat. It can be proven by tcount > ttable X1 with 1.735 > 1.662. For X2 12.643 > 1.662, a significance level (sig.) of 0.012 and 0.167, which are higher than 0.05, hence H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, the percentage influence between the two independent variables influences the Teachers’ Professional Competence as a variable at 80.4%, and the others at 19.6% are influenced by other variables or factors that cannot be mentioned in this research.

Abstract

Student loyalty refers to a strong commitment upheld by students to continuously support the services they receive, even to the extent of influencing prospective students to also experience those services. Several factors can influence student loyalty, namely customer satisfaction, service quality, and the facilities and infrastructure provided by the school itself. Therefore, it is important for individuals to develop a high level of loyalty to the school they have chosen. Through such loyalty, individuals can help maintain the school’s reputation and contribute to better achievements, both on an individual and collective level.This study aims to analyse the influence of service quality and facilities on loyalty, mediated by satisfaction. The sampling method used was saturated sampling, whereby the entire population was taken as the sample, comprising 34 students. Data were collected through a questionnaire, and the data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modelling - Partial Least Squares).The findings indicate that service quality and facilities can influence loyalty through satisfaction. Therefore, improving service quality and providing adequate facilities and infrastructure are key factors in building student satisfaction, which in turn has a positive impact on loyalty.

Abstract

The independent curriculum is a new policy issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture as an effort to improve the Indonesian education system. With this change, there are still many schools and teachers who are not ready to implement this independent curriculum, this is due to lack of understanding of the independent curriculum. This study aims to see how ready Pancasila education teachers are in implementing the independent curriculum in SMANs in Tanah Putih sub-district. This is a mixed research model concurrent triangulation study. The results show that 31.66% are "Proficient" stage, 40% are "Ready" stage, 15% are "Developing" stage and 13.33% are "Initial" stage. Based on benchmark, the results obtained are respondents who answered "proficient" plus the results of respondents who answered "ready" (31.66% + 40% = 71.66%). It can be concluded that the readiness of Pancasila Education teachers in SMANs in Tanah Putih sub-district in implementing the independent curriculum is in ready category. Teachers who are the ready and proficient stage are assisted by the PMM feature, training activities (such as IHT and workshops) carried out by the school, participation as a driving teacher so that they can be the proficient and ready stage. Meanwhile, for teachers who are the developing stage because the adaptation process to this curriculum tends to be long and there are still several supporting programs such as training or workshops that have not been carried out and followed. So support is needed from both schools and government in implementing this independent curriculum.

Abstract

  The objective of this study is to ascertain the impact of employing interactive learning media, namely PowerPoint assisted by Wordwall, on students' learning motivation in the context of learning PANCASIL Education. The impetus for this research was the observation of a pervasive lack of motivation among students in their learning of pancasilan education. The present study employs a quantitative approach, integrating both experimental and observational elements. The research design is of the pretest-posttest, control group variety. The population of this study comprised 412 students enrolled in the eighth grade at SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru. The sampling technique employed was a random one, and the samples were subjected to a homogeneity test. The total sample size of this study was 80, with each class comprising 40 students. The research instruments employed included questionnaires, student observation sheets, teacher observation sheets, and documentation. The findings indicated a substantial impact of the integration of PowerPoint presentations with Wordwall on learning motivation, as demonstrated by the t-count value of 5.421, which exceeds the critical value of 1.990 at the 1% level of significance (see Table 1). The N-Gain value in the experimental class was 0.11 (high category) higher than the control class, which was 0.03 (low category).

Abstract

This research is motivated by problems in the learning process, namely students do not follow carefully when the teacher is explaining, students have difficulty in answering questions asked by the teacher. Low ability of 21st Century Thinking Skills, Lack of variation in learning methods used by teachers, and lack of student involvement in the learning process. Therefore, a guided discussion learning model is applied as an effort to improve students' 21st century thinking skills. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of the Influence of the Guided Discussion Learning Model on the Development of 21st Century Thinking Skills at Integrated Agricultural Vocational Schools in Riau Province. The purpose of this study is to determine the Influence of the Guided Discussion Learning Model on the Development of 21st Century Thinking Skills. This study is expected to provide scientific contributions in the field of education and become a theoretical basis for the development of PPKn learning. This study is a type of quantitative experiment with a one-group Pretest Posttest Design. The population in this study were grade X students. Sample data collection in this study was carried out by purposive sampling, as many as 1 class totaling 27 students. The results of the data analysis show that there is an influence and significance between the guided discussion learning model and students' 21st century thinking skills. The significance value (Sig.) Based on the mean is 0.853> 0.05. (2-tailed) of 0.001 <0.05. Thus, the Ha hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, the Guided Discussion Learning Model is quite effective in improving the Development of 21st Century Thinking Skills of students at the Integrated Agricultural Vocational High School of Riau Province.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of using digital learning media applications on the creativity of students of the Pancasila and Civics Education (PPKn) Study Program at Riau University. The background of the research is based on the transformation of the higher education landscape due to the development of digital technology, which encourages students to utilize technology to create innovative learning media. This phenomenon raises questions about the extent to which the use of digital learning media can influence and develop student creativity. This research uses a descriptive quantitative research method. The research population was all students of the Civics Study Program at Riau University class of 2021, 2022, and 2023. The research stages include the preparation of questionnaire instruments, data collection from 100 students selected using random sampling techniques, and data analysis. Data analysis was carried out using a simple linear regression test with the help of the SPSS version 25 program, after going through the classical assumption test (normality, and linearity). The results showed that there was a positive and significant effect of using digital learning media applications on student creativity. This is evidenced by the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.581, which indicates that 58.1% of variations in student creativity are explained by the use of digital learning media. The implication of this research is the importance of integrating digital learning media.

Abstract

This research is based on the results of pre-research conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education that some students of the 2021 intake still do not understand and master several points of basic teaching skills. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of the implementation of PLP MBKM activities on the teaching skills of FKIP students at Riau University. And the main objective of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of the implementation of PLP MBKM activities on the teaching skills of FKIP students at Riau University. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative research method with a population of all FKIP students at Riau University intake of 2021 who have participated in the 2024 PLP MBKM activities totaling 1,007 students and sampling in this study 10% of the total population to 90 respondents consisting of 14 study programs using probability sampling techniques (simple random sampling). The first stage carried out was collecting data through a questionnaire, then the results of the data tabulation were tested for classical assumptions, namely the Normality and Linearity Tests, hypothesis testing was carried out using the F Test, the Determination Coefficient Test, and the Regression Coefficient Test. Data processing with statistical analysis using a simple linear regression formula, namely Fcount> Ftable, which is 62.540> 3.95, thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Which means that variable X has an effect on variable Y. In addition, the determination coefficient value obtained the influence of variable X (Implementation of PLP MBKM activities) on variable Y (Teaching skills) of 41.5%.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of self-efficacy and the Micro Teaching course on the readiness of students in the Social Sciences Education Study Program (PIPS), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of Riau, to participate in the School Field Introduction Program (PLP). PLP is a basic stage in the formation of professional teachers, where students apply theoretical knowledge through observation, internships, and guided teaching practice in the school environment. Student readiness to undergo PLP is crucial, involving not only academic understanding but also the ability to adapt and interact in the work environment. In this context, self-confidence or self-efficacy, as well as practical experience gained from the Micro Teaching course, are identified as important elements that influence this readiness. The results showed that most students had a high level of PLP readiness, with the ability to interact and communicate with students being the most prominent aspect. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that self-efficacy and the Micro Teaching course, both separately and together, had a positive and significant influence on student readiness to participate in PLP. In conclusion, this study found that most of the variation in PLP readiness can be explained by self-efficacy and the Micro Teaching course. These findings strongly emphasize the importance of self-confidence and practical experience gained from microteaching in preparing prospective teachers for the realities of the field. Therefore, it is recommended that students continue to develop their understanding and skills related to self-efficacy and microteaching to enhance their PLP readiness.

Abstract

Student loyalty reflects a strong commitment to their school, demonstrated through continued support for the services provided and influencing prospective students to enroll. This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and school facilities on student loyalty, with student satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. The research was conducted at SMPIT Muhammadiyah Pangkalan Kerinci using a quantitative approach. The sampling technique employed was a saturated sample, involving the entire population of 34 students. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that service quality and school facilities significantly influence student satisfaction, which in turn affects student loyalty. These findings emphasize that improving service quality and providing adequate facilities are essential in fostering student satisfaction and loyalty. The practical implication of this study suggests that schools should focus on enhancing educational services and infrastructure to build stronger student engagement and commitment.
