Abstract

As social beings, humans will not be separated from its name a symbol of communication. Therefore, the purpose and objective of the research is to find out the symbols of communication and the meaning and message of using symbols of support communication for the persebaya among the SBK supporters community. In giving their support, this community mostly expresses it through certain symbols with their own meanings and messages. So the type of research used is descriptive qualitative using the Symbolic interactionism theory approach. Data obtained through interviews and direct observation in the field. From the results of the data obtained, it was concluded that the symbols of communication that happens or is done within the community to support SBK there are two symbols of verbal and non-verbal. Verbal symbols are used in the form of yells, songs or chants that they have created and always sung throughout the game. While non-verbal symbols there are three, namely, in the form of apparel / clothing made and worn every game. Certain facial expressions that appear or occur. And body movements that are intentionally done or occur accidentally.Sebagai makhluk sosial, manusia tidak akan terlepas dari namanya simbol komunikasi. Sebab itu, Maksud dan tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui simbol komunikasi serta makna dan pesan dari penggunaan simbol-simbol komunikasi dukungan pada persebaya dikalangan komunitas suporter SBK. Dalam memberikan dukungannya, komunitas ini kebanyakan mengungkapkannya melalui simbol tertentu dengan makna dan pesan tersendiri. Sehingga tipe penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori Interaksionisme Simbolik. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi langsung dilapangan. Dari hasil data yang diperoleh, disimpulkan bahwa simbol-simbol komunikasi yang terjadi atau dilakukan kalangan komunitas SBK dalam mendukung ada dua yaitu simbol verbal dan non verbal. Simbol verbal yang digunakan berupa yel-yel, nyanyian atau chant yang diciptakan dan selalu dinyanyikan mereka sepanjang pertandingan. Sedangkan simbol non verbal ada tiga yaitu, berupa pakaian/busana yang dibuat dan dikenakan setiap pertandingan. Ekspresi wajah tertentu yang muncul atau terjadi. Dan gerakan tubuh yang sengaja dilakukan atau terjadi secara tidak sengaja.

Abstract

Perlakuan masyarakat kepada orang yang menyandang ODHA sangat diskrimatif. Bahkan mereka di marginalkan dalam pergaulan masyarkat. Kenyataan ini sangat tidak mendukung untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mereka unutk tetap bertahan hidup. Upaya untuk mengembalikan kepercayaan diri mereka perlu kegiatan pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh para relawan yang etrgabung dalam Kelompok Dukungan Sebaya). Komunikasi interpersonal antara MK (Kelompok Dukungan Sebaya) sangat diperlukan dalam rangka meningkatkan rasa percaya diri para penyandang ODHA.  Persoalan pendampingan pasien ODHA yang dilakukan oleh MK akan dikaji dengan teori-teori yang ada dalam komunikasi interpersonal. Teori yang mendasari adalah teori komunikasi interpersonal dan teori pengungkapan diri (Self Disclosure). Teori-teori ini sangat membantu dan mendasari dalam membahas berbagai macam permasalahan dalam penelitian ini.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode “deskriptif kualitati” yaitu penelitian yang menggambarkan dan menjelaskan berbagai kondisi dan situasi yang menjadi objek penelitian. Unit analisanya adalah : komunikasi verval dan nonverbal, keterbukaan (keterbukaan membuka diri), empati (menempatkan pada posisi atau perasaan orang lain), dukungan (memotivasi dan memberi dukungan). Dari hasil wawancara dan observasi menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi yang dilakukan melalui bahasa informal (campuran) dan menggunakan gerakan tubuh. Empati selalu ditunjukkan oleh para MK dengan berbagai macam cara sehingga di dalam berkomunikasi ada keterbukaan untuk saling mengungkapkan perasaan masing-masing. Ini juga dilandasi oleh rasa percaya para penyandang ODHA bahwa para MK akan tetap menjaga kerahasiaan pribadi mereka di masyarakat.Kata-kata kunci:   : Komunikasi interpersonal, Manajer Kasus, Percaya diri  People's treatment of people with PLWHA is very discriminatory. Even they are marginalized in the social community. This fact is very unfavorable to increase their confidence to survive. Efforts to save their confidence require coaching activities conducted by volunteers belonging to peer support groups). Interpersonal communication between Case Managers (Peer Relief Groups) is very necessary in order to increase the confidence of people with PLWHA. The problem of patient assistance of PLWHA conducted by the Constitutional Court will be studied with theories that exist in interpersonal communication. The underlying theory is the theory of interpersonal communication and the theory of self-disclosure (Self Disclosure). These theories are helpful and underpinning in discussing the various problems in this study. The method used in this study is the method "descriptive qualitative" is a study that describes and describes the various conditions and situations that become the object of research. The analytical unit is: verval and nonverbal communication, openness (self), empathy (place in position or feelings of others), support. Interviews and observations show communication through informal language (mixed) and using body movements. Empathy is always by the Case Managers with a variety of ways in communicating there is openness to each other's feelings. It is also based on the trust of people with PLWHA that the Case Managers will keep their personal secrecy in the community.Keywords: Interpersonal Communication, Case Manager, Confident

Abstract

Theres many ways can be done to appreciate the voices of messages and criticisms through creative ways, one of them through comics. One of the Indonesian comic artists who used comics as a medium of social criticism was Haryadhi through his "Komik Strip Untuk Umum (KOSTUM)” creation. KOSTUM Comics record the events that are happening and pour them into comic strips spread through social media. This research is a qualitative descriptive type using Roland Barthes' semiotics theory with two-stage significance (two orders of signification). From the results of the study, researchers found the implicit meaning that is to criticize and satirize the behavior of Indonesian people in a subtle way. Criticism expressed to comics is directed directly at the actors but is delicately wrapped with humorous portrayals through their characters. From the KOSTUM comics examined can be concluded that the social criticism described in the comic is an expression of the condition of the community related to the values that are used as a guideline for living in community groups.Keywords: Comics, Social Criticism, Semiotics, Roland Barthes

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mapping of marketing communication media platform conducted by PT. Dyandra Promosindo Surabaya in the exhibition of Indie Clothing Expo 8th. This study discusses mapping of marketing communication media platform through promotion mix seen from the use of advertising element, personal selling, and direct marketing. The analysis of this research using qualitative approach with descriptive method, data collecting technique is with documentation, in-depth interview, observation, and data search field. Informant research as many as three people, involving branch manager PT. Dyandra Promosindo, and Project Manager and Promotion Officer of Indie Clothing Expo 8th Exhibition. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, display data, and Conclusion Drawing and evaluation. The result of this research is in mapping of usage of advertising element, PT. Dyandra Promosindo utilizes various advertising media as a means to promote Indie Clothing Expo exhibition 8th from promotion cooperation with some print media such as newspaper and magazine, then some local radio, and informative account in social media, and use of outdoor promotional media starting from billboards, billboards , Until the cutting sticker in public transportation. In addition, PT. Dyandra Promosindo maximizes personal sales through the ICE Agent program by working with fifty representatives of high school students in Surabaya. And finally, the use of ticketbox as a direct marketing strategy by adding a promo program to improve the service and the number of visitors, as well as maintaining the brand image of the exhibition.

Abstract

Jujitsu or known as IJI (Institute of Jujitsu Indonesia) is one of a branch of martial arts in Indonesia. In training Jujitsu is needed of a communication to explain and train the students. I don't know that communication, interpersonal or in groups. Dojo (Training Place) Wijaya Putra Surabaya is a place to practice with various kinds of people, whether it's from a wide range of rates ranging from sabang to merauke, a wide range of religion, a wide range of ages. With a variety of such differences can be seen how interpersonal communication that will be among the coaches and students at the arena that will cause some comparisons between one and others. The research is a research a qualitative descriptive, The use of research sort of descriptive set of qualitative is the right method to find out the results of research that aims to find out how interpersonal communication by coach to students with a way to explain using a reality so that the study be something definite. The results can be found by using the Social Penetration theory which has 4 stages, namely, orientasi, exploratory affective stage, affective stage, stable stage. Of those 5 (five) subject of three has reached the stage stable while two other reached the affective stage. Because a coach doing the first approach to the students it in a way to tell the history of training, joking and personal life so that the stable in the study. The subjects based on Purposive Sampling and data retrieval using Depth interview.

Abstract

The seamless attainment of strategic objectives and the cultivation of a cohesive and engaged workforce This case study examines the strategies employed by the Nusak Termanu Kingdom to effectively communicate their brand image and maintain a positive public perception. Nusak Termanu, an indigenous monarchy in Indonesia, is compelled to safeguard its cultural heritage and distinctiveness in the face of modernization and globalization. The study employs concepts of brand image management, strategic communication, and organizational communication to understand how communication influences and maintains the public perception of a corporation. In order to establish a cohesive and captivating brand story, it is essential to align internal and external communication efforts, as emphasized in the literature. According to Robert K. Yin, the study employs a qualitative case study methodology. Data was collected by conducting comprehensive personal interviews with key stakeholders of the Nusak Termanu Kingdom, which included the royal family, communication managers, and community leaders. In order to triangulate the findings, one also examined relevant records and archival materials. The results reveal the many communication strategies employed by the Nusak Termanu Kingdom to manage its brand image. These encompass the intentional utilization of traditional and digital communication channels, the establishment of strategic partnerships, engagement with the local community, and alignment of internal and external communication endeavors. The report also highlights the primary possibilities and challenges that the monarchy encounters in managing its brand image. The research provides incisive analysis for cultural organizations and conventional enterprises grappling with the intricacies of brand image management in the digital era. It highlights the importance of employing a comprehensive and inclusive approach to communication that incorporates both traditional and contemporary methods in order to engage stakeholders and maintain a favorable public perception. The results establish a foundation for future research on brand image communication within traditional organizations and have practical significance for communication experts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the brand communication strategy used by Digitaldesa.id on the Instagram platform, focusing on community expression and interaction in social media. The methodology used is critical discourse analysis to understand the narratives and representations created by Digitaldesa.id to build brand identity and image among Instagram users. Data is collected by observing user interactions with content published by Digitaldesa.id and its community. The results of research collected from the Instagram account @digitaldesa.id are that the platform has succeeded in playing an important role in strengthening the DIGIDES brand identity through various informative and inspiring content. Through its focus on education, active interaction, community empowerment, and promotion, this account informs and mobilizes community participation in adopting digital technology at the village level.

Abstract

This study analyzes the framing of the image of Mayor Eri Cahyadi in the news coverage of the summer event ‘Surabaya Bervespa’ published on the RRI.co.id news portal. Using Pan and Kosicki's four structural device models, syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. this study explores how the news forms the image of the Mayor through various framing elements. The results show that the news effectively forms the image of Eri Cahyadi as a leader who supports the Vespa community and promotes tourism in Kota Lama. The syntactic structure places the Mayor in the center of attention, while the script structure provides comprehensive information about his role in the event. The main theme of the news highlights the Mayor’s support for the community and tourism, while the rhetorical structure uses word choice, idioms, and images to strengthen the positive image. This study's novelty lies in framing analysis to reveal how news forms public perceptions of local leaders through integrated and layered framing. This study provides insight into political communication strategies and the influence of news framing in shaping a leader's public image.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKredibilitas seorang pemimpin simbolik keagamaan sangat dipengaruhi oleh pemberitaan yang disampaikan oleh media massa. Penelitian ini membahas kredibiltas KH. Fuad Amin (tokoh simbolik keagamaan) yang tersangkut kasus korupsi di kalangan mahasiswa Madura di Universitas Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. Pembahasan masalah tersebut dikaji dengan teori-teori yang ada dalam disiplin ilmu komunikasi. Teori yang mendasari adalah teori kepemimpinan, teori-teori tentang media massa, teori tentang kredibilitas kepemimpinan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode “explanatory survey” yaitu penelitian yang mengambil sampel dari suatu populasi dan menggunakan kuisioner sebagai alat pengumpul data yang pokok. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah total populasi yaitu menggunakan seluruh populasi mahasiswa Madura yang aktif kuliah di Universitas Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. Dari hasil perhitungan uji statistik yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa secara signifikan terdapat pengaruh yang lemah atau rendah antara pemberitaan kasus korupsi KH. Fuad Amin dengan kredibilitas pemimpin simbolik keagamaan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji statistik dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi, dimana nilai r sebesar 0,276.    ABSTRACTThe credibility of a leader of the religious symbolic greatly influenced by the publicity given by the media. This study discusses the credibility of KH. Fuad Amin (religious symbolic figures) are involved in corruption cases among students at the University of Madura Dr. Soetomo. Discussion of the issue studied by the theories that exist in the communication disciplines. The underlying theory is a theory of leadership, theories about the mass media, the theory of leadership credibility. The method used in this research is the method of "explanatory survey" that is research taking sample from a population and using a questionnaire as a data collection tool that subject. The sample used in this study is the total population that uses the entire population of Madura active student studying at the University Dr. Soetomo. From the calculation of statistical tests performed show that there is a significantly lower influence of the weak or between reporting cases of corruption KH. Fuad Amin with the symbolic leaders of religious credibility. This is evidenced by the statistical test by using correlation analysis, where the r value of 0.276.

Abstract

Contemporary media analysis makes great study in the junction of ethics, morality, financial concerns, and health capitalism. Using Entman's Framing Analysis Model to expose the underlying stories and prejudices, this research investigates how online news sites address certain subjects. The study begins by setting the scene for the relevance of moral and ethical considerations in debates on health capitalism and financial policies, especially in the digital age where public opinion and policy debates are much influenced by online news. The study of the literature explores the body of current work on media framing, ethical standards in journalism, the presentation of financial concerns, and the dynamics of health capitalism. The study draws attention to the areas in which the literature lacks in terms of how these subjects are handled on internet news and the possible influence on public opinion and policy-making. The study examines a range of online news items from major news sources using Entman's Framing Analysis Model. The elements of the model—problem characterization, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation—offer an analytical framework to look at how these publications tackle financial concerns and health capitalism. The results show obvious trends in how these subjects are presented on online news. Emphasizing the functions of government and financial institutions, monetary problems are often considered in connection with economic stability and the efficiency of policies. Still, health capitalism is most usually understood in terms of personal responsibility and market efficiency. It centers on moral conundrums and assessments of ethical issues related to affordable healthcare. The study has several connotations. It underlines the need of reporting on financial and health issues using a more fair and ethical sound manner. This emphasizes how public opinion and policy decisions could be influenced by media frame. It underlines the need of more responsibility in journalism to guarantee that difficult problems are presented in an ethical and instructive way.
