Abstract

AbstractThe Kampar Regency Government provides assistance to the community in cultivating pineapple plants as an icon of the village of Rimbo Panjang, Kampar Regency. Thus, people are competing to make pineapples into basic ingredients for processing such as making pineapple chips. As a mainstay product, pineapple chips must be considered in the production and distribution process so that they are attractive to consumers who are the users and must be protected from business actors who always have a way to seek their own profit without paying attention to health, safety or consumer comfort. This paper is based on field research based on observations, interviews, and documentation obtained directly at the Kampar District Health Office, the Cooperative and UMK Trade Office, pineapple chips sellers and buyers in Rimbo Panjang, Kampar Regency. The approach used is juridical-empirical.Protection for pineapple chip consumers who do not have an expired label in Rimbo Panjang Village, Kampar Regency is still not accommodated by the local government based on the results of interviews with the health department, not all pineapple chip businesses have a PIRT (Home Food Industry) permit so more socialization is needed so that The community who owns pineapple chips UKM knows the importance of registration because the benefits are not only for the seller but also for the protection for the buyer.
