Abstract

ABSTRAK. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan modul berbasis konstruktivisme pada materi sistem pencernaan pada manusia. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 16 Kerinci, dilatar belakangi dengan keterbatasan bahan ajar yang tersedia di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan. Pengembangan modul menggunakan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kriteria sangat valid, aspek isi dengan rata-rata validitasnya 90 %, aspek penyajian dengan rata-rata 94,4%, dan aspek bahasa dengan rata-rata validitasnya 82%. Penelitian melibatkan dua puluh empat orang siswa. Hasil motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan modul berbasis konstruktivisme diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 85% dengan kategori sangat efektif dan nilai hasil belajar dengan rata-rata 82,5. Maka dapat diketahui bahwa efektivitas penggunaan modul berbasis konstruktivisme pada materi sistem pencernaan pada manusia dalam pembelajaran biologi sangat tinggi.

Abstract

The determination of science and technology is a prerequisite for the development of modern laboratory systems. This study examines the laboratory management system in the interrelationship between science and technology. Qualitative evaluation methods are used to accommodate research questions related to the comparison of objectives and realities of laboratory systems. The focus of research lies in the management system and management paradigm of science and technology. The study was conducted in all public high schools in Kota Sungai Penuh, Jambi. The study used naturalistic observation to observe laboratory conditions and semi-structured interviews from laboratory managers, educators involved in the laboratory and students. Research bias is minimized by comparing observations and some interview results. The results showed that there is a gap in laboratory management of schools in newly developing cities. This slice of science and technology in the laboratory management system is influenced by past views, present feelings and future assumptions from laboratory managers, parties and educators involved. Then policy and policy realization magnify the gap created. The gap can be addressed by using virtual labs.

Abstract

Islamic Higher Education often serves as a pivotal educational centre, cultivating knowledge and fostering academic growth. Understanding the factors influencing students' academic performance, particularly in specialized fields like Tadris Biology, holds significance in optimising educational strategies and support systems. This study aims to ascertain the variables that impact the Cumulative Achievement Index of Tadris Biology students at Islamic universities. The research methodology employed is qualitative, using Grounded Theory analysis techniques. Data was collected by administering a questionnaire and conducting in-depth interviews with 67 students. The findings indicate that prior educational experience, gender, and parental income affect GPA. Students with a scientific background, female students, and those from higher-income households tend to achieve higher GPAs. Conversely, social media usage can hurt academic performance, while involvement in extracurricular activities has no discernible effect. The benefit of this research is that it explores factors affecting the academic success of tardis biology students in Islamic higher education. This research holds inherent value in unravelling the nuanced aspects that shape the academic success of Tadris Biology students within the realm of Islamic higher education. Understanding these dynamics can pave the way for tailored interventions and support systems to enhance student outcomes in this specialised field.

Abstract

Siswa dihadapkan dengan proses pergeseran pola belajar dari masa pandemi menuju pasca pandemi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi belajar siswa sebelum dan setalah pandemi covid 19, di SMAN 5 Sungai Penuh. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian ex post facto dengan pendekatan penelitian kombinasi model Sequential Exlanatory. Teknik pengambilan data pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan angket dan lembar observasi. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa masing-masing siswa memiliki perbedaaan kesiapan dan kondisi pembelajaran yang berbeda selama pandemi menunju pasca pandemi. Hal tersebut di tunjukkan dengan presentase kesiapan dan adapatasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kesiapan siswa selama pandemi covid 19.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a science learning model based on Integral Islam and Science on addictive substance material that is valid and practical. This type of research is development research with a 4D model consisting of Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The research population is students of MTS Negeri 4 Kerinci and research samples for class VIII MTs Negeri 4 Kerinci. The data collection technique is a questionnaire. Data analysis in this research is a test of validity and practicality. The results of the research concluded: 1) The Islamic and Science-based science module on addictive substance material was validated by media experts with a final percentage of 83% in the very valid category, validation of the material with a final percentage of 85% in the very valid category and validation of the language aspect obtained a percentage of 88 % in the very valid categor..

Abstract

It is unquestionable that research and thesis writing anxiety has negative impacts on academic success. Such academic anxiety needs a serious concern by measuring it as a beginning step to determine appropriate research and thesis writing strategies. Therefore, this study aimed at measuring the types and levels concerning anxiety towards research and undergraduate thesis writing among students in an Islamic college. Through a mixed-methods design, 450 students from various majors at a state-owned college were asked to complete a questionnaire and 10 students were involved in a semi-structured interview. The quantitative data were analyzed by determining means, SD, and frequency levels and a content analysis was applied to analyze qualitative data. The results revealed perceived utility and competence as the most common type experienced by students during a field research and thesis writing. On the other hand, the students are able to work with library-related practice as it has the lowest mean score. Regarding qualitative result, it is stated that there are problem that emerge during the field research and thesis writing, including fear of writing, library, statistics, and field research. Fortunately, the students are able to cope with the problems by undertaking several related strategies, including conducting regular practice, comprehending online resources, and utilizing online application. In short, it is implied that such academic anxiety can be avoided by the students and it is recommended that future research has to focus on determining research and thesis writing strategies.

Abstract

The research that has been carried out is intended to produce student worksheets, which in Indonesian are abbreviated as LKPD. for Biology Learning based on Kerinci local wisdom, which is integrated with the Discovery Learning model on biodiversity material. This research is development research using the 4D model. The subject of this research is the class used in class X SMAN 2 Kerinci which consists of small group trials (9 people) and product trials (33 people). The data collection instrument in this research was a questionnaire where, at the development stage, the student worksheets were validated by material experts and design experts and assessed through responses from biology subject teachers. The data analysis technique used in this research uses a Likert scale. The research results show that material expert validation, with a percentage of 88.33%, is in the very good category. Furthermore, the design validation results are with a percentage of 98.33% in the very good category. The research results also showed that biology teachers responded to the developed student worksheets with a percentage of 87.50% in the "very good" category. The results of the small group trial of students were 76.62% in the "good" category, while the results of the large group trial were 80.37% in the "very good" category. Based on the results of validation and field trials, the LKPD based on Kerinci local wisdom, which is integrated with the Discovery Learning learning model on biodiversity material, is good and suitable for application in biology learning, especially on biodiversity material.

Abstract

The field lecture is important learning experience for students which is carried out in the open to apply the theory they have learned. This is necessary for the Ecology and Environment subject so that it can provide real experience for students. This study aimed to determine the benefits of joint field lecture between Biology Tadris Study Program at IAIN Kerinci and the Masters in Biology Education at Padang State University for Ecology and Environment subject. The research method was descriptive qualitative-quantitative (mixed method). The research subjects were selected Biology Tadris students along with IAIN Kerinci lecturers and students of the Masters of Biology Education, Padang State University. Data collection was carried out with tools in the form of the questionnaire and the interview list. After the data were collected qualitatively, the data were analyzed based on each indicator of questionnaire and interview, so that the total results of all indicators were obtained. For the data from questionnaire were quantified in percentage. The study results indicated that joint field lecture provided the benefits for students who participated in field lecture activities. The results of questionnaire and interview showed the benefits for students in increasing knowledge, insight, motivation, and experience. In the implementation of the field lecture, students were very good at collaborating, both within groups and among groups. Kuliah lapangan merupakan pengalaman belajar penting bagi mahasiswa yang dilakukan di tempat terbuka untuk mengaplikasikan teori yang telah dipelajari. Hal ini diperlukan untuk mata kuliah Ekologi dan Lingkungan sehingga dapat memberikan pengalaman nyata pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manfaat kuliah lapangan bersama antara Program Studi Tadris Biologi IAIN Kerinci dan Magister Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Negeri Padang pada mata kuliah Ekologi dan Lingkungan. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriftif kualitatif-kuantitatif (mixed method). Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Tadris Biologi yang terpilih beserta dosen IAIN Kerinci dan mahasiswa Magister Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Negeri Padang. Pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dan wawancara. Setelah data terkumpul secara kualitatif, data dianalisis berdasarkan masing-masing indikator kuesioner dan wawancara, sehingga diperoleh hasil total dari semua indikator. Untuk data dari kuesioner dikuantifikasi dalam persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kuliah lapangan bersama memberikan manfaat bagi mahasiswa yang ikut melakukan kegiatan kuliah lapangan. Hasil kuesioner mahasiswa dan wawancara mahasiswa dan dosen menunjukkan manfaat bagi mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, wawasan, motivasi, dan pengalaman. Dalam pelaksanaan kuliah lapangan, mahasiswa sangat baik dalam bekerjasama, baik di dalam kelompok maupun antar kelompok.

Abstract

Nature interest is an individual's interest in the natural environment, which includes curiosity, involvement, and enjoyment when in nature. This interest often leads to a drive to preserve nature and strengthen emotional connections with the natural world. This study aims to measure Nature Interest at the Kerinci State Islamic Institute. This study adapted the Nature Interest Scale instrument. This study used descriptive and comparative quantitative methods; the sample comprised 122 students. This study examined students' interest in nature and its impact on pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors. The results showed variations in interest between science and non-science students, influenced by educational background, academic orientation, and personal interests. Participation in nature-based solutions, such as ecosystem restoration and natural resource conservation, stimulates motivated motivation by encouraging involvement in pro-environmental practices. Environmental education has been shown to influence pro-environmental behavior, especially for science students who balance emotional and intellectual interests in nature. Emotional attachment to nature is the main motivational basis for nature protection behavior, although their science education does not always influence students' beliefs. Non-science students tended to be less interested in nature, but emotional connections to nature still influenced their pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors. Science students, especially biology, reported more positive attitudes, broader knowledge, and higher levels of nature-related activity than other majors and more pro-environmental attitudes than business majors. Environmental education increased environmental awareness, with environmental studies students showing higher awareness and greater appreciation for using the campus arboretum than students from other majors. Students’ environmental volunteerism values ​​varied by gender and stream of study. Science students’ understanding of the contribution of ecosystem functions to human well-being reinforced the importance of biodiversity education in shaping environmental concerns

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motivasi belajar sains serta perbedaannya antara siswa kelas VII dan VIII di Madrasah Tsanawiyah BPHBPI Kayu Aro, Kerinci, yang terletak di kawasan industri. Motivasi belajar dipandang sebagai faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan akademik siswa. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner yang mengukur empat indikator utama motivasi belajar, yaitu learning goal orientation, task value, self-efficacy, dan self-regulation. Analisis menggunakan independent sample t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan pada semua indikator motivasi. Perbedaan rata-rata terbesar ditemukan pada task value (0.30) dan self-regulation (0.30). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VII memiliki motivasi belajar yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa kelas VIII. Penurunan motivasi belajar ini mengindikasikan adanya tantangan dalam mempertahankan motivasi seiring dengan bertambahnya tingkat kelas. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting dalam pendidikan IPA, di mana motivasi belajar berperan krusial dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang optimal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan intervensi pedagogis yang inovatif dan relevan untuk mempertahankan serta meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa.
