Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of emotional quotient and learning motivation on the biology learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students in the MIPA program at SMA Negeri 2 Palu. The research employs an ex post facto design that is correlational in nature, utilizing a quantitative approach. The population of the study consists of 288 students, with a sample size of 72 students selected through Cluster Random Sampling techniques. The research instruments include a student learning outcomes test, and questionnaires measuring emotional quotient  and learning motivation. The results of the questionnaire tests were found to be valid and reliable. Data analysis of the questionnaire results was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The findings indicate that both variables (emotional quotient  and learning motivation) have a positive and significant effect on the biology learning outcomes of the eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Palu, both partially and simultaneously. This is evidenced by the t-test results for emotional quotient , which yielded a value of 17.514 > t-table 1.997, and for learning motivation, which yielded a value of 5.721 > t-table 1.997. Additionally, the F-test (simultaneous) produced an F-calculated value of 543.62 > F-table 3.15. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of emotional quetion and learning motivation on the learning outcomes of the eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Palu.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' problem-solving skills through the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) at SMA Negeri 5 Model Palu. This study is a classroom action research (CAR) with two cycles, each consisting of two meetings, conducted in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects were 28 students from class X M6 at SMA Negeri 5 Palu, consisting of 10 male and 18 female students. The research instruments used were student problem-solving ability tests and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The learning tools used consisted of teaching modules using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and student worksheets (LKPD). The data were analyzed based on the results of observations of teacher and student activities and problem-solving ability tests. The results showed that applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model could improve students' problem-solving abilities, with an average score of 73.04 with a percentage of 71% (incomplete) in cycle I to 87.50 with a percentage of 96% (complete) in cycle II. Applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model also increased teacher teaching activities and student learning activities. Thus, the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model can improve the problem-solving skills of grade X M6 students at SMA Negeri 5 Palu.

Abstract

This study aims to identify rice field weeds in Salumpaga Village, North Tolitoli District. Rice field weeds are wild plants that grow in rice fields and are undesirable to farmers because they inhibit the growth of rice plants. The method used was descriptive with purposive sampling techniques. The weeds identified were those that already had complete organs such as roots, stems, and leaves. The results of the study identified 25 types of weeds, namely, the Asteraceae family (Synedrella nodiflora (L.), Erigeron sumatrensis (Retz.), Ageratum conyzoides (L.), Tridax procumbens (L.), Sphogneticola trilobata (L.), Chromolaena odorata (L.) King & H.Rob, Mikania scandens (L.) and Mikania mikrantha (Kunth.)). Fabaceae family (Mimosa pudica (L.) and Crotalaria pallida (Var.)). Euphorbiaceae family (Euphorbia hirta (L.) and Macaranga peltata (Roxb.)). Cyperaceae family (Kyllinga brevifolia (Rottb.) Hassk. and Cyperus compressus (L.)). Lamiaceae family (Hyptis brevipes (Poit.) and Gmelina arborea (Roxb.)). Convolvulaceae family (Ipomoea aquatica (Forssk.) and Ipomoea triloba (L.)). Poaceae family (Hymenachne amplexicaulis (Rudge.)). Oxalidaceae family (Oxalis stricta (L.)). Rubiaceae family (Oldenlandia corymbosa (L.)). Onocleaceae family (Matteuccia sturthiopteris (L.) Tod). Family Amaranthaceae (Celosia argentea (L.)). Family Vitaceae (Cayratia trifolia (L.)). Family Graminaceae (Imperata cylindrical (L.). Beauv.).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of playing online games and student learning outcomes in science subjects in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 18 Model Palu. This type of research uses quantitative research with correlation analysis. The sample of this study is class VIII which totals 105 students. The data collection technique in this study is a questionnaire. The results of this study showed that  the intensity of playing online games obtained in the medium category was 65 students (61.90%), the high category was 27 students (25.71%), and the low category was 13 students (12.38%). The number of hours used in one play was obtained more than 5 hours by 32 students (55.17%), up to 3 hours by 18 students (31.03%), and up to 1 hour by 8 students (13.79%). The results of bivariate analysis, it showed a correlation coefficient (Spearman's rho) of 0.106, there was a positive but very weak relationship between the intensity of playing online games and student learning outcomes. With a significance of 0.282, because it is 0.282>0.05, it is concluded that there is no significant relationship between the intensity of playing online games and student learning outcomes in science subjects in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 18 Model Palu.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in Biology subjects through the use of animated video media in improving science learning outcomes of grade IX A students at SMP Negeri 1 Balaesang. The method used is this research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) design with four stages, namely planning, implementation, teacher observation, and student observation. The research subjects amounted to 28 students. The data collection instruments in this study used teacher observation sheets, student observation sheets, and posttests. The research will be conducted in July 2025. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the use of animated video media in science subjects has proven to significantly improve student learning outcomes. This is aimed at the results of data analysis that has been carried out in the implementation of the Iyang cycle, showing that the level of student learning outcomes of learning completeness reached 67%, while in cycle II it increased to 100%. In addition, students' responses to learning using animation media were very positive. Thus, it can be concluded that animated video media is effective in helping to understand science material and increasing student involvement in the learning process.
