Abstract

In Indonesia, the pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) is a well-liked fruit. Kayukul is a village in Central Aceh that is well-known for being a pineapple-growing hub. However, farmers sell their harvest as fresh fruit. As a result, the price of pineapples reduces significantly during the rainy season and when the harvest is plentiful. Therefore, the diversification program offered in the Product-Based Community Services Program (PBCSP) to cultivate pineapples into meals and fresh drinks received positive responses from communities. This community service's goal is to increase the knowledge and skills of the local communities on how to transform pineapples into goods with added value, which they can then utilize as businesses to raise their family income. PBCSP was conducted in three steps, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The target group of PBCSP were teenagers, housewives, and micro, small, and medium business actors. PBCSP activities were carried out for a month with three feature products, namely: cookies, syrup, and jelly candy made from pineapple. Training on how to create the products was used to socialize the featured products with the target audiences. A participatory paradigm was used in the preparation, formulation, and evaluation of the products. The target groups' complaints and recommendations regarding the products served as guidance for product development. To boost the added value of products, the selection and the determination of product names (brands) and package development were made. It is hoped that PBCSP will be implemented in a sustainable manner because the evaluation results indicated that the communities thought the program was highly useful. In order to help the target groups who have acquired the knowledge and skills to produce the feature products offered, the government is also expected to offer business financing assistance to create diverse enterprises to raise their family income. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to understand and describe the Implementation of theCorporate Social Responsibility(CSR) Policy for the Community Development Program at PTPN IV Nagori Bah Butong II Tea Plantation and Factory with a focus on the implementation of the Community Development program and the constraints that limit it. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the CSR policy for the Community Development Program by PTPN IV Kebun and Tea Factory was first implemented in 1996. The implementation of the CSR policy for the Community Development program implemented by PTPN IV Kebun and Tea Factory is considered ineffective. This is because the CSR for the community development program implemented in Nagori Bah Butong II is considered not to have been running consistently and has not had a long-term positive impact. The effectiveness of the implementation of the CSR community development program is hampered by a number of factors in Van Meter and Van Horn's "a model of the policy implementation", including the lack of coordination and communication between PTPN IV and institutions and stakeholders. The large number of proposals received by the company makes PTPN IV implement the most priority programs first while still measuring the resources it has. This study recommends that PTPN IV Tea Plantation and Factory increase resources, both budget and human resources who have expertise in providing training and education, strengthening coordination between sectors, and compliance of implementers with applicable policies.

Abstract

Gambling/maisir activities in Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City oppose the implementation of Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning the Jinayat Maisir Law in force in Aceh Province. This study aims to analyze the extent to which the implementation of this Qanun has been carried out and to identify the factors that are obstacles in its implementation. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation of law enforcement officers, religious figures, academics, and the community. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Qanun has not been running optimally. This can be seen from the still high number of gambling cases in Banda Sakti District. The communication aspect is considered ineffective because the dissemination of information is limited to sticker media and socialization to schools, without utilizing digital channels that are more relevant to the characteristics of today's society. In addition, limited human resources and budget are obstacles to supervision and law enforcement. The lack of disposition and commitment from the authorities is also an obstacle in the implementation of this policy. A more modern, collaborative and participatory communication approach is needed, as well as increasing the capacity of legal apparatus and infrastructure so that this qanun can be implemented consistently and effectively.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding is a student’s cognitive structure characterised by the ability to transform and explain concepts in solving problems. Many students were unable to explain the concepts and the relationships between concepts in solving the limit of functions. This study aimed to explore students' conceptual understanding of the limit of functions in terms of mathematical beliefs. The subjects were 30 mathematics education students at Syiah Kuala University who had taken calculus courses for advanced real analyses. Data were collected using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. Data processing was carried out by reducing data, presenting, analysing, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that students with strong mathematical beliefs demonstrated a more complete and integrated conceptual understanding of the limits of functions, as they could connect concepts, procedures, and graphical representations. In contrast, students with medium and low mathematical beliefs tended to focus only on procedural knowledge, often failing to explain underlying concepts or make meaningful connections between concepts and problem-solving steps. Based on the results, calculus lecturers need to build a strong conception of the material on the real number system and real functions so that the concept of the limit of functions is easily understood and memorised.

Abstract

Background: Generalist Therapy (GT) is a nursing approach that integrates physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care tailored to individual needs. While commonly used in mental health nursing, its implementation varies across countries. In Indonesia, GT is delivered through culturally adapted implementation strategies. These include deep breathing exercises, pillow-punching, medication adherence, assertive verbal communication, and spiritual practices. Although GT has become a standard practice in Indonesian mental health services particularly in Aceh Province, research on patient perceptions, especially among those with schizophrenia and a history of violence, remains limited. This study aims to explore patients’ subjective experiences of GT. Methods: This qualitative study employed a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. The interviews were analyzed using Colaizzi’s seven-step method. Results: Three major themes emerged from the data: (1) the effectiveness of GT in emotional regulation, including managing anger, promoting calmness, and the role of medication in reducing negative emotions; (2) resilience enhancement, encompassing positive meaning-making, therapy commitment, improved social functioning, and self-control; and (3) barriers to GT implementation, including internal (emotional issues, low insight, restrictive personal beliefs, cognitive decline, and low participation) and external obstacles (limited facilities and overcrowded wards). Conclusion: GT is perceived as helpful in emotional regulation and recovery support. It strengthens resilience and improves patient insight, especially when supported by a conducive environment. Incorporating patients’ perspectives into therapeutic planning may enhance the effectiveness of mental health care.

Abstract

Community service activities are carried out in Muara Batu District, North Aceh Regency. The determination of this location is based on several reasons, including the existence of Muara Batu District in the Malikussaleh University campus area which is directly adjacent to immigrants from students and people who work around the area, besides that, the main thing is that in Muara Batu District, North Aceh Regency, there are many Acehnese souvenir craftsmen who are still very behind in marketing their products so that craftsmen find it very difficult to achieve maximum sales achievement levels and this can result in production stalls which can have an effect on closing their businesses. The method of implementing community service is carried out with stages of preparation, training and mentoring as well as Monitoring and evaluation of activities, where we will monitor the craftsmen whether they have maximized their use of digital media in the process of selling their products. To facilitate the monitoring or evaluation process, the activity implementation team has also formed a WashUp group, where in the group the implementation team and the coaching team will interact and communicate with each other about matters relating to methods, strategies or matters relating to how to digitize the sale of Acehnese souvenir products. This activity was attended by UMKM craftsmen of Acehnese souvenirs, namely from Ule Madon Village, Meunasah Aron Village and Mane Tunoeng Village and craftsmen of other products as well, the Sub-district Head and also staff at the Sub-district Head's office, Mura Batu District, North Aceh Regency.
