Abstract

Botubarani Village has great potential for geosite development in the Tomini Bay area, through community empowerment efforts, it is hoped that the Botubarani Village community can become an active part in the geosite development process in the Tomini Bay area. The method of implementing KKN MBKM to build villages starts from technical briefing to work program action. Students focus on field observations and interviews, in addition there are mandatory programs and community empowerment programs. The results of the mapping activities carried out produce an output in the form of maps. The results of the community empowerment program are carried out by fixing all damaged geosite infrastructure, as well as socializing to the community about tourism management. This activity involves personnel from the Botubarani Village community who have been actively involved in various stages of geosite development, from potential identification, planning, to promotion. Their participation proves that community empowerment is the main key to success in sustainable geosite development. Hopefully, it can create a broad positive impact on the community, the environment, and sustainable development in general.

Abstract

Indonesia, which is located in an area prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, requires an increase in disaster literacy, especially in Gorontalo Province. This service aims to improve disaster literacy at SMA Negeri 1 Bone Pantai through socialization and training on the use of disaster information applications. The service method includes socialization, practical training with simulation of emergency situations, as well as pre-test and post-test evaluation of student knowledge. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of disaster types, use of disaster applications, and preparedness in responding to disasters. Assistance by lecturers and integration of the program in the school curriculum as well as the formation of a disaster volunteer group are expected to ensure the sustainability of improving disaster literacy at SMA Negeri 1 Bone Pantai.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Block “X” of the Pani Gold Project Area, Buntulia District, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province, with the aim of examining the regional geological conditions, including geomorphology, stratigraphy, and geological structures. The methods applied consist of geological field mapping supported by petrographic analysis. The results indicate that the study area is divided into two main geomorphological units, namely a volcanic hill unit that dominates the area with undulating to steep morphology, and an alluvial plain unit developed along river systems. The stratigraphy of the study area comprises four lithological units, including granodiorite, diorite porphyry, dacite porphyry of Pliocene age, and alluvial deposits of Holocene age. The geological structures identified include fracture systems and normal faults with a sinistral (left-lateral) component trending northeast–southwest, as well as the presence of fault gouge and fault breccia indicating relatively intense deformation. Overall, the geological characteristics of the study area reflect a strong relationship between lithology, geomorphology, and structural controls in shaping the landscape development.
