Abstract

This study aims to implement a behavioristic approach in learning algorithms and programming with Python and explore the factors supporting and hindering the process. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with the subjects being students from the Mathematics Education Study Program. Data were collected through triangulation, which included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of the behavioristic approach significantly improved students' systematic thinking skills, with an average increase of 25% in algorithm understanding and problem-solving skills. Seventy-five percent of students reported increased confidence in solving algorithm problems. These findings support the principle of positive reinforcement in behavioristic learning theory. This study recommends integrating the behavioristic approach into the curriculum and further research to explore individual factors affecting learning outcomes. Thus, this study contributes to the development of more effective teaching methods in mathematics education and programming.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the constraints and solutions in the utilization of the Learning Management System (LMS) 'Bebas UMPO' by students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. The approach used is qualitative exploratory with a case study design, involving semi-structured interviews, documentation, and observation as data collection techniques. Research findings show that there are three main categories of constraints faced, namely technical constraints (such as limitations in networks and devices), pedagogical (the lack of interactivity in the material), and cultural (low motivation and readiness for independent learning among students). In response to these constraints, the proposed solutions include improving digital infrastructure, training lecturers in technology-based content development, and strengthening students' digital literacy. Additionally, the integration of innovative learning media such as videos, interactive forums, and visual content is also recommended to enhance the effectiveness of using LMS. This finding emphasizes the importance of a systemic approach that involves technology, pedagogy, and academic culture in supporting the transformation of digital learning. This research contributes to the development of more adaptive and contextual local LMS, as well as providing practical recommendations for higher education institutions in optimizing the use of learning technology.

Abstract

Indonesian migrant workers' children (PMI) in Malaysia often face structural challenges in accessing formal education, thus relying on non-formal education services such as Sanggar Bimbingan (SB). SB AMI Penang, like most other SBs, operates with limited resources, which contributes to the digital literacy gap. However, digital literacy is a crucial competency for social and economic participation in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This international community service program aims to design and implement a Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) introduction program as a pedagogical tool to improve the digital literacy competencies of children at SB AMI Penang. The community service methods include workshops and practical training. The results of structured and ethically oriented GenAI introduction activities proved effective in improving digital literacy in marginalized communities. The conclusion of this community service is that GenAI has the potential to be an equalizing tool to bridge the digital divide faced by Indonesian diaspora children.

Abstract

Education in Paulo Freire's view has a great urgency as a means of liberation from social, political and economic injustice. This article examines the concept of Paulo Freire education which is oriented to humanization and critical awareness (conscienient) to fight dehumanization. Freire rejected the education model "bank style," which only positioned students as passive objects, and offers a dialogical approach as a solution to create interactive, critical, and relevant learning spaces to social contexts. The method used in this article is the study of literature, by examining various books, journals, and articles related to Freire thought. This study found that liberating education involved dialogue as the core of learning, where the teacher and students both acted as subjects. This process builds critical awareness that allows individuals to understand and change the structure of oppression in society. Education must be relevant to the life experience of students, allowing them to develop critical thinking to understand the root of the problem and take solutive. The results of the discussion show the relevance of the concept of Freire to the free curriculum of learning in Indonesia, which emphasizes the freedom and autonomy of students in exploring the potential of themselves. This article recommends the application of dialogue and reflection -based education as an approach to overcoming the challenges of globalization and improving the quality of education. Thus, education is not only a means of transferring knowledge, but also a tool to empower individuals as agents of social change.

Abstract

This study on community engagement seeks to create and assess a collective reflection and digital documentation model to improve students’ social literacy during a fieldwork program in Semarang. The methodology utilized an experiential learning strategy that included field observations at Semarang City; visual documentation through images, videos, and field notes; and subsequently collective reflection sessions alongside digital publication activities. The findings show that combining group reflection with digital documentation greatly enhances students’ comprehension of social, cultural, managerial, and religious dynamics experienced during fieldwork. Students showed enhanced critical thinking, social analysis, and digital literacy skills, particularly noticeable in their reflective videos and online publications. The research indicates that this model successfully converts field experiences into significant social understanding. The primary suggestion is to make structured collective reflection and digital publication mandatory aspects of fieldwork programs to enhance students' educational experiences Keywords: digital documentation; experiential learning; fieldwork; social literacy; collective reflection
