Abstract

Islamic banking in Indonesia has grown significantly, but its services remain unevenly distributed, especially in rural areas like Mandailing Natal Regency, where only 30% of residents access formal financial services (BPS, 2023). This study examines the role of Islamic banks in improving financial inclusion in Panyabungan City. Using a quantitative method and 100 respondents, data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed with PLS-SEM. Results show that financial literacy (β = 0.422; p = 0.000) and perception of Islamic banks (β = 0.493; p = 0.000) significantly affect financial inclusion, with R² = 0.647. Despite high account ownership, digital service use and financing remain low. Findings underscore the importance of strengthening financial literacy and expanding access to Islamic digital banking. Recommendations include targeted financial education and outreach strategies to enhance service utilization in underserved regions

Abstract

This study explores how service quality, promotion, and price perception impact customer satisfaction with Go-Jek in Medan, using a quantitative approach with data gathered from questionnaires and interviews among 40 users who had used the Go-Jek app more than five times. The findings indicate that service quality does not significantly affect customer satisfaction, with a t-value of 2.437 exceeding the critical value of 1.688 and a significance level of 0.020. Conversely, promotions negatively influence customer satisfaction, evidenced by a count value of -0.639 compared to the critical value of 1.688 and a significance level of 0.527. Price perception, however, positively correlates with customer satisfaction, as shown by a count value of 5.942 surpassing the critical threshold of 1.688 and a significance of 0.000. Collectively, these factors significantly affect customer satisfaction, with an F-count of 82.143 against an F-table value of 2.87 and a significance of 0.000. The adjusted R-squared value of 0.862 (86.2%) indicates that these variables explain a majority of the variance in customer satisfaction, with the remaining 13.8% attributed to other unexamined factors.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of validation and verification of socioeconomic and household data on the quality of the 2026 National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS) results at the Central Bureau of Statistics of Mandailing Natal Regency. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with key informants involved in the SUSENAS implementation, observations of the quality control process, and a review of guideline documents and survey implementation reports. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and thematic conclusion drawing using triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the findings. The results show that validation acts as an initial screening mechanism to ensure the completeness, consistency, and logical fairness of data through automated systems and manual checks. Meanwhile, verification serves as a confirmation stage through rechecking and clarification of key variables. Both processes contribute significantly to improving the accuracy, consistency, reliability, and credibility of the SUSENAS results. The effectiveness of validation and verification is influenced by human resource competency, technological support, internal coordination, and the geographic conditions of the work area. This study confirms that strengthening quality control mechanisms is a strategic factor in ensuring the quality of socioeconomic statistics at the regional level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Online Single Submission (OSS) to accelerate business licensing at the Mandailing Natal Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP). The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods to in-depth describe the OSS implementation mechanism, supporting and inhibiting factors, and its effectiveness in accelerating licensing services. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the implementation of the OSS has significantly changed the licensing service system from a manual pattern to an integrated digital-based system. Issuance of Business Identification Numbers (NIB) for low-risk businesses can be done more quickly than the previous system. However, the acceleration of services is not fully optimal for medium- and high-risk businesses because they still require fulfillment of commitments and additional technical verification. Supporting factors for OSS implementation include regulatory support, apparatus commitment, availability of infrastructure, and increased awareness of business actors. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited internet networks, national system disruptions, low public digital literacy, and administrative constraints. Overall, OSS has contributed to the acceleration of business licensing in Mandailing Natal Regency, but still requires optimization in technical aspects and increasing the capacity of service users.

Abstract

The institutional framework and sustainability of waqf in Indonesia hold immense potential for supporting the social and economic development of the Muslim community. However, despite its promise, the sector remains fragmented, and its utilization has not yet been optimized due to the lack of specific legal regulations governing stock waqf. This study analyzes the regulatory framework for stock waqf from the perspectives of institutionalization and sustainability in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative method through normative legal research using a conceptual approach, this study examines the reconstruction of stock waqf from the perspectives of institutionalization and sustainability in Indonesia. The research findings emphasize the need for legal reconstruction regarding the institutional framework and sustainability of stock waqf to integrate collaborative legal regulations among the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the Financial Services Authority, and the Indonesian Waqf Board, as well as to strengthen Islamic financial literacy. Collaborative legal regulation is not only necessary for operational effectiveness but also to integrate waqf into a modern economic framework, including the integration of digital governance systems and the strengthening of electronic nazhir certification systems without compromising their ethical foundations. Recommendations include strengthening specific legal regulations for stock waqf, fostering synergy between the government and religious authorities, and implementing collaborative legal integration among the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the Financial Services Authority, and the Indonesian Waqf Board. These findings contribute to the reconstruction of the endowment system from an institutional perspective and to the sustainability of endowments that are responsive to national socioeconomic needs and the needs of the endowment itself.

Abstract

Introduction: The development of the Shariah digital economy presents both opportunities and challenges for Muslim micro and small enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in interpreting Shariah principles in the digital era. This study aims to explore the sense-making process of Muslim MSME actors in Mandailing Natal in understanding and implementing Shariah-compliant digital economic practices. Methods: A qualitative interpretive case study approach was employed, involving some of active MSME informants through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of digital Shariah practices. Findings indicate that Shariah compliance in digital practices is pragmatic, adaptive, and contextual, involving negotiation between technological efficiency and religious values, as well as dual legitimacy from formal authorities and personal experience. Results: The Results highlight the critical role of actor sense-making in constructing subjective understanding of complex and often ambiguous Shariah principles. Conclusion and suggestion: Theoretically, this research extends the literature on Islamic digital economy and Shariah fintech by emphasizing the interpretive social construction of Shariah compliance. Practically, the findings provide guidance for developing digital platforms, Shariah digital literacy programs, and collaborations between regulators and religious authorities to enhance inclusion and sustainability of Muslim MSMEs

Abstract

The increasing use of social media among adolescents presents challenges for character development in schools, particularly in digital communication ethics, responsible information sharing, cyberbullying, and self-regulation. This highlights the need to integrate digital literacy with character education to promote responsible online behavior. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen students’ digital morals and ethics through the Civilized School Program at SMA Negeri 2 Plus Panyabungan, Indonesia. The program involved 30 students from grades X–XII and used an educational-participatory approach supported by teachers and school staff. Activities included digital ethics counseling, training on healthy digital communication, cyberbullying case simulations, reflective discussions, student-led digital campaigns, and the formation of student character ambassadors. Program evaluation used a mixed-method design involving pretest-posttest questionnaires, observations, reflections, and teacher interviews. Quantitative results showed an increase in average scores from 60.1% to 87.1%, representing a 27.0 percentage-point improvement across five indicators: digital communication ethics, awareness of cyberbullying, social empathy, responsible social media use, and self-regulation. Qualitative findings indicated improved student behavior, including more cautious online communication, more selective information sharing, and greater respect for others’ opinions. Overall, the program contributed to fostering a more ethical and responsible digital culture within the school. The Civilized School Program demonstrates potential as a participatory school-based model for integrating digital literacy and character education among adolescents.
