Abstract

In the last ten years, airline industry has grown rapidly and has made airport ramp or apron busy with its activities. The work time in this area is relatively short, causing the work pressure higher than other areas. It is not surprising that accidents and incidents are more potential to happen here. By identifying the hazard and risk, and then doing a risk analysis, the level of risk can be known using a qualitative method referring to the Australian/New Zealand Standard or AS/NZS 4360:2004. It is clear that the highest risks of ramp activities are noise, being struck by operational vehicles, and being squeezed by Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Meanwhile, the activities with high risk include fatigue, dust, being squeezed by hydraulic during preparation, being scratched by iron, improper body position when putting mannual GSE, being struck down by things, falling down, and getting lavatory water splashed on. Keywords: Risk Analysis, Work Accident, Airport Ramp Area.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the causes of irregularities on airplane medical evacuation (medevac) handling and find the solution and effective action. Method used in this research is fishbone. The results show that there are 13 factors causes the irregularities which are the age of GSE is over 20 years old, the Medevac Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), briefing and debriefing activity, documentation, diesel fuel, spare part, office utility, employees’ recruitment, career path, training, operational cost, salary increases, and bonus. The solutions are that at the beginning of recruitment the company should tell the new employee about the employment status, periodic increment, and training, for the company fuel storage, the company should socialize the rules of work safety by conducting safety campaign program periodically, for documentation, it is better for the operation administrator to document and jot down all operational activities, meanwhile for the night-shift employee should be changed with different people, for the spare part, there should be some spare stored in GSE warehouse, about the SOP, the company should make special SOP for medevac activities, office utility should be updated with the newest technology, and for GSE equipment, there should be budget to buy new GSE equipment

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the congestion on the street toll road users. The problem in this research is the congestion and its impact on the road users, and how the solution to the congestion on the Brexit toll during Lebaran holiday season 2016. Population The study was conducted at East Brebes toll gate where the researcher distributed questionnaires to 80 respondents by purposive sampling method. Data analysis techniques use validity and reliability, simple linear regression, correlation coefficient, determinant coefficient, and hypothesis test. The result showed that there was a positive influence between congestion (X) and road users (Y), road congestion variation due to other factors of 95.4% while the rest of 4.6% was determined by other factors. With the probability significance of 0.005 t table> t table, it is concluded that individually the variables of congestion can affect the variables of users of toll road.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze factors to prioritize the development of aviation professional ethics based on virtue ethics in Indonesia and to decide which best suitable strategy to accomplish the purpose. The data was taken from 8 (eight) aviation and ethics expertise and practitioners. The method of data analysis used Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Super Decisions software was employed to process the data. The result shows that the best and most effective strategy in developing aviation professional ethics based on virtue ethics in Indonesia is by applying the Virtous Leadership. The Virtue Ethics Approach is bound much with moral examples. It means, to ensure the professional and ethical employees in an organization, first thing to do is to assure that the leaders and managers of the organization can give examples and do the obligation with high commitment based on virtues values such as courageous character, honesty, and other cardinal virtues.

Abstract

The achievement of student learning outcomes is influenced by various factors, such as learning resources and ways of learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between learning resources and learning outcomes; know the relationship between how to learn and the learning outcomes; and know the relationship between learning resources and ways of learning on the learning outcomes. The sample in this study was 108 students. The independent variables in this study are learning resources (X1) and ways of learning (X2). The dependent variable in this study is learning outcomes (Y). The data collection method used a questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis in this study used descriptive percentages, multiple linear regression, t test and F test. The results showed that the analysis of multiple linear regression obtained equation: Y = 52.078 + 0.224X1 + 0.203X2. Partially, the influence of learning resources on learning outcomes was 43.3%, while the influence of learning methods was 42.6%. Simultaneously, learning resources and ways of learning influenced the learning outcomes by 47.3%, with SE (X1) = 24.6%, and SE (X2) = 22.7%. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that learning resources and ways of learning significantly influenced learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously. In this study, learning resources had a greater influence on learning outcomes compared to the of way of learning on learning outcomes. Thus, schools need to optimize all learning resources both in their existence and utilization, and students need to improve their way of learning in order to get optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Major cities worldwide are now experiencing immense growth caused by rapid urbanization and industrialization over the past decades. Currently, more than half of the world’s population lives in the urban area and this number is projected to increase most likely to more than 65% by 2050. Nowadays, Asia has the highest number of urban dwellers, which subsequently followed by Europe and Africa. Back in 2000, Tokyo was the largest metropolitan area occupied by 37 million citizens, followed by New Delhi, Shanghai, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo. Other cities such as Cairo, Mumbai, Beijing, and Dhaka caught up with average inhabitants of around 20 million people. Urbanization has been recognized as the driver that has given a huge contribution that helps increase the economic development in urban cities on a global scale. Despite its positive influences for economic growth, urbanization has led to various urban challenges including but not limited to congestion, urban sprawl, environmental degradation, limited job opportunities, housing, and public safety.Along with the rise of information and communication technology (ICT) that is developing rapidly and disruptively in the past few years, traditional cities are changing by adopting the smart city concept aiming to address both its existing problems and future challenges. Even though there is no consensus yet among academics and policymakers about the definition of smart city concept, most of them agreed that smart city is a city development and management by considering the adoption of ICT in order to connect, monitor, and control various resources inside the city in an efficient and effective manner to optimize services for the people in performing their daily activities and to address the urban challenge. In general, a smart city should be seen more as an integrated system of sensors and processors integrated within the city’s infrastructure network rather than the employment of ICT specifically in a particular city domain. The concept of a smart city is currently presented as the solution to urban challenges by coming up with new innovations to solve the mounting problems faced by urban cities to make cities better connected and more efficient in terms of connection, coordination, usage of resources, resiliency and sustainability.

Abstract

Digitalization has proven to be important in shaping cities towards more effective and efficient in terms of planning, management, and development. Digitalization that is taking place extensively right now has revolutionized the business ecosystem and changed the value chain process in many industries. It offers various enthralling opportunities yielded by the applications of technologies and intelligent systems to provide smart solutions to urban challenges. The effect of digitalization encouraged innovation by taking into account a physical-digital collaboration among related parties within the urban context and beyond.    In a broader context, digital technologies have also played a significant role in accelerating access to more data and knowledge. It further fosters the accountability of institutions, stimulates the efficiency of science, and promotes more innovation opportunities in many sectors. Digital technologies supported by data are used in the development of smart cities to solve problems and make better decisions to achieve a higher urban quality of life. A smart city is an integrated system of six components, which consist of smart people, smart living, smart mobility, smart environment, smart economy, and smart governance; the smartness of which can be enhanced by the utilization of several crucial technologies including information and communication technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT), sensor technology, geospatial technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Blockchain.
